If half stars were an option, I’d probably give Dog People 3.5 stars. But, I had a positive overall experience, and they were fast and super nice. So they get rounded up to 4 rather than down to 3. Dog people does two things: hot dogs with lots of toppings and fries with lots of toppings. They’re both good, with room for some improvement. Start with the fries. I had the poutine, which was a perfect rendition of what poutine should be: a heaping mound of hot fresh french fries, smothered in tons of gravy, loaded with cheese curds. I know poutine is all the rage these days, and certainly comes dressed up with fancy flourishes elsewhere. But this is the heart of what poutine is: rich. flavorful. comforting. The fries themselves, while cooked to perfection and piping hot, were nothing overly special. They seemed to be of the fairly standard frozen variety. Next the dog. I had mine with slaw, siracha, and added bacon. The slaw was quite good. It had great flavor and there was plenty of it. The downside was that it obscured some of the other flavors. If I were to order it again, I’d probably ask for extra siracha and maybe forego the bacon(most of the bacon flavor was obscured anyway, so might as well be a little healthier, right?). The folks running the truck were super nice, and the food came out incredibly quickly. The latter is no small feat, and it’s one of the things that made them stand out. It’s definitely something to remember if you’re in a rush or trying to choose between multiple trucks.

Had Dog People again this evening. It wasn’t on par with the first time I had it. I’d eat their food again but I don’t know if I’d go out of my way for it. Maybe it was an off night.

I hate to say it but this place was nothing special. Could have made the same hot dog at home. The fries were frozen from a bag and bland. The people who were running the truck were very friendly.

Dog people just served up their great food at an event I hosted. The event had approximately 80 – 90 ppl and their service was extremely fast and very friendly. I’m not a food critic by any means but I know when food tastes good and this was amazing. I had the tiki dog which was a dog covered in pineapple glaze, wasabi mayo and bacon. That dog alone is enough to seek out their truck. Do to being busy that was the only item I got to try. However virtually every person who gave feedback on the event brought up how good the food was and I heard many people raving about the fries at the event. Would recommend this food truck to anyone.

We had the Spicy Slaw Dog it was great! The prices are so reasonable for gourmet hotdogs. The folks who were working the food truck were so nice, and they even brought my hotdog to me inside the brewery.

Their menu is really amazing. Creative, delicious fare like the Tiki Dog, and the Crab Rangoon Dog. The franks are high quality, and if you’ve never had poutine, I would definitely recommend trying it here. Love this place.

Wonderful! No ordinary hot dog joint, these dogs are tasty and the flavors superb. And, you won’t want to stop eating the frites. My group ordered all the dipping sauces and loved them — even taking leftover sauces home. However, I’ll be sure to return for the House Speciality Frites with a delicious parmesan cheese sauce. Catch this latest Columbus food truck at Land Grant brewery on Monday nights. I’ll be there!
