Sprint cars on a circle track. They race on Wednesday’s and Saturday’s in the summer. Sometimes you can get in for $ 5 per car load.

Yes, I too asked myself, «seriously? A hot summer night watching cars go in circles?» Oh yes, my friend, oh yes! Columbus Motor Speedway offers up some really good entertainment at a reasonable price. Where else can you pay $ 18 to see school buses race in a figure 8 formation? Trailer races? You bet. Putting 20 plus«Crazy Compact» cars on such a short track makes for a lot of very crowded bumping and rubbing. Oh, they have some great fast modified action as well. Look, I’m not a NASCAR fan, but this was a seriously entertaining Saturday night. The whole family enjoyed it. We laughed, sat in the rickety old bleachers, ate some dogs, drank some beer and just had a plain ol’ good time. You get to see so many different types of races/cars all in one night.(Oh, the people watching aint half bad either). One tip: bring some ear plugs for when the modifieds are going at it.

Taking a forbidden lap around the deserted track on a steamy Sunday afternoon just became one of my most favorite summer memories. Can’t wait to come back and drink beer while watching friends do some stupid ass shit like demolition bumper cars. Hope to see the crazy relay thing involving two tethered cars, one with an engine and no breaks and the other with breaks but no engine. O. o
