This shop needs some serious help. It’s not organized at all. Comics are all over the place. Some of the books aren’t in boxes. Nothing is in a bag or a board. To someone like me, I collect them to read and to keep. Therefore, I look at condition of the books as well. To see the books just piled all over the place is disappointing. He doesn’t have any issues from more than a year back or so. No key issues on the wall for sale or classic silver age books, nothing. Just boxes and shelves of poorly cared for comics. Look behind the counter, that’s where the variants(higher priced and harder to get comics) are stored. They aren’t bagged and boarded either. The floor behind the counter is covered in old receipts. I don’t get it. Everything in the store is cover priced. Even older stuff that’s bent and cruddy, is cover price. Clearly a store full of stuff that should be $ 1. He had a couple variants I was interested in and I tried to negotiate for a few dollars off and he said«No.» Instead it will just sit there and rot. The books I was trying to get we’re already a few months old. The biggest shock is that he doesn’t do a pull list, or at least didn’t want to tell me about it when I asked. Are you kidding me? The pull list is a comic stores bread and butter. I hadn’t been to this store in 5 years. I honestly don’t think I’ll ever go back. Unless it comes under new ownership. He has display cases that are empty. He’s been there for 3 years!!! How can you expect people to come back if there’s never anything new to look at. I’d love to have my own comic shop, he has one and he just squanders it away. It’s a shame. To the owner: be proud of your store and start taking care of it.

This is a great comic shop. I never really talked to Ken that much but he was always a friendly guy. When I asked for helping finding stuff he usually had the answer. He has a big selection of newer comics. Nothing really older than the Bronze Age(at least that I know of). Great selection of trade paperbacks. What really sets this shop apart from others in Columbus is that you get percentages off your comics which is really nice if you stop in every week. My only real gripe with the place was always how you couldn’t start a pull list. He told me that none of the books I would buy called for me to put them in a pull list because they would most likely still be in stock(which sometimes wasn’t the case).

This is one of the best shops in all of Columbus if you are a fan of American Comics. I love this comic shop. It has a great selection of back issues, for a fair price. All the newest releases… The shop owners is kind and willing to chat and share his opinions. The selection of trades is amazing. There is dozens of action figures and a good selection of statues and collectibles. Also have a small selection of Japanese Manga(comics) and collectables. I should also note, if you have allergies there is a shop kitty that frequents the place. Very sweet, but if you are allergic to long haired felines I would take something before coming inside.

AH, the wasted days of my youth were spent here weekly scouring through boxes of back issues, and gawking at scantly dressed figurines, with big animé eyes and graphics novels. My figures have been boxed up, and placed in the closet, and my graphic novels have been donated to a public library, but that doesn’t keep me from loving this place. Walk in on a normal day and you’ll see Ken, sitting at his computer with Led Zepplin, Pink Floyd, or some other classic rock playing in the background. He’s one comic book store owner who is down to earth, and intune with what his clientele want when dropping by. There was always something to keep the boyfriend at the time and I drooling, and wishing we had more money from our minimum wage jobs to throw here. He has around two rows of high bookshelves with graphic novels, a row of manga, and about three rows from floor to table top of back-orders. Nostalgic collectors could easily find themselves stuck here for a few hours. The discounts and sales here are great. If i had been smart I would have done all of my graphic novel shopping here instead of Borders at Tuttle, which is no longer in existence. This is a gem to regular comic book collectors, and your Otaku culture in Columbus, and it’s all nestled in between a bunch of Mexican grocery stores, and I do believe there is a taco truck in front, which could count for a review all in itself.

What this little nook for the comic book fan lacks in slick presentation, it makes up for in massive inventory and a very nice owner. Lots of back issues as well as new stuff. Action Figures by the ton, and great, discounted prices make this place a must for a serious collector. I was pleasantly surprised, as will you be:)
