Do not order their delivery! It’s way too slow. We ordered delivery and they’re way past the delivery time frame. If they’re going to be so slow, they should just give you a warning. It’s really annoying, because there is already a delivery charge plus we tipped them. This is pure terrible service, it’s been an hour and a half since the order was placed.

Absolutely the best Thai food place. Can’t order something that you don’t like. Dishes come in mild and hot version. I find hot to be ok but I like spicy food. Get the hot sauce tray and try all the sauces. Great service and food

My pup had surgery today so we were recuperating with her on the couch and wanted to get some takeout, so we ordered from Basil Thai. I had been there once before and the food was good so I was excited to give them another go! I ordered through the skip the dishes website and waited for our food to arrive. Once it finally came I opened up my order to see a container of broccoli. I had ordered vegan Rama Thai which was listed as steamed tofu and broccoli with sauce on the website, but all I got was broccoli, no tofu, and a tiny ramekin of sauce. I was pretty bummed because obviously I don’t want to pay $ 13.95 for an order of steamed broccoli. I set up to cook my own tofu and called the restaurant to see what went wrong, it sounds like the website may be off… which isn’t my fault, but the guy on the phone who had put my order together just responded with«oh, sorry». That’s it! Guess I’m off to eat my big bowl of broccoli.

Great food as portion size. Clean and cozy. Has a great patio for nice days. Space indoors is limited for large parties.

We came in here before a show at the Shadowbox for a quick dinner and some drinks. The place has a very nice patio outside, and it’s nice on the inside. The place becomes more of a bar during the cooler climates, only because most of the table seating is on the patio, and inside, there are more bar seats, and bar top tables then regular tables. Everything we ordered was a vegan option. The pot stickers were good. The two dishes we shared were the Green Curry, which at first I didn’t care too much for, but the more I ate it, the more it grew on me, and I think it was very good after completing my meal. The other dish was a noodle dish, which I can’t remember the name of, and I don’t see it listed on their online menu. But it was our favorite dish of the night. The only think we did not like was the soup. I didn’t order it, but tried it, I believe it was Tom Ka vegan. I tasted it and it pretty much felt like a mouthful of potpourri and it was just way too spicy to even really eat. Very bold floral flavor! Update: ok, about the spiciness of the soup. I am new to Thai food, and just recently had some homemade sriracha sauce, which was made with Thai Chile’s… Ok, I now understand how hot Thai hot is now, it’s pretty damn hot, pretty much to the point you can’t taste anything else, but for some reason, I keep coming back for more punishment. I’d come back again, when it’s warmer out, just to enjoy the patio, which to me, is the highlight of this location.

Checked out the new location in the Brewery District– in a doomed location where many restaurants have tried and failed close to the Double Happiness. However, nice décor and great patio. Not my favorite Thai, but perfectly adequate. Decent service. One of those places that does not stick in the memory for any bad… or good reason.

Just had dinner here tonight and it didn’t disappoint. All 3 of us had the soup, then we had red curry, cashew chicken & vegetable salad– all of it was fantastic as usual but that’s not the important part. There was 1 waitress/bartender who had to help 30 people all at the same time. There was a 14 person group who came in, obviously didn’t call ahead & the waitress did an amazing job of helping that group & taking care of the rest of us– all with a smile & sense of urgency. Great experience & we will be back.

Our party of four stopped by before an evening at the Shadow box. Our drinks were stiff but not overbearing. Started off with Pot stickers and Crab Rangoon for appetizer’s. They were nice and hot. Two orders of Pad Thai, Fried rice with beef and Cashew Chicken were all great! Hope to go back soon.

Convenient Brewery District location. I stopped going to the Short North location years ago when I tried it prior to visiting Bangkok for 3 weeks. This food needs some work and would struggle in Chiang Mai. Has some influence from Thailand, but the dishes are executed less than poorly, particularly the soups. The curries are also off in both consistency & flavor. Too thick after only a few minutes and for the most part extremely bland. This is likely a result of not including the traditional ingredients needed for the cuisine. Need lemongrass, thai chile, lime leaves, fish oil, etc. — those kinds of things. Basil can only do so much for the dish.

I am so glad Basil has moved to the area! It is the perfect addition to the Brewery District. The patio is awesome and the inside is nice as well. The food is fantastic. Their lunch portion is such a great deal. Although I haven’t been yet, the word around town is that they’re happy hours are amazing. I will definitely be back!

I’d heard about this place, but never made it out. Columbus is crawling with new and exciting food choices, and this place was not on my immediate radar. They have reasonable prices, and good food. I visited the short north location on a slow day with my family. The food was good, the service was so so. It wasn’t offensive, just a little slow. I then visited the Brewery District location on a slow day. It was actually happy hour on a Monday. The service was excellent, fast, friendly. $ 4 for small plates. $ 4 for certain wines and beer. This is a good opportunity to try some of the greatest hits without committing to a large dish or it’s price. Some of my favorites were the Crispy Chicken Toast, Chicken Egg Rolls(with vermicelli noodles), Pad Ka Praw, Fried Rice, and Sweet and Sour Chicken and the Crispy Rolls. I’m sensitive to spicy heat so the very hot is just too hot. Even the hot was too hot. Overall, maybe hit up the Brewery District location. It’s a little harder to find. You have to walk past the front of the building towards the back, and you’ll notice the patio. Walk past that, and there’s the door. Have fun!

I’ve been here twice now, once for happy hour, once for dinner. Happy hour is a great deal on drinks and small plates, when I went the service was good and I enjoyed the apps I ordered. over all 3.5 stars or so. The second visit was an awful experience. It was a mello sunday night, the patio was steady but by no means busy. There were just 2 servers on duty who seemed too overwhelmed to host, serve, or bartend well at all. My table’s server was nice but service was really slow and overall just off. The other server was rude when I asked where the restroom was – by the way the restroom is hidden in a place that you would never find it and its not marked. Lastly, the food was a disappointment. It wasn’t terrible but it was not good, the Pad Se Ewe was sickly sweet. So was a crispy noodle appetizer, the name escapes me. The Tom Ka soup was great though. Not interested in returning.

I was excited to hear that there was a Basil in the Brewery District. It has the same feel as the Short North location, just more intimate. I ordered the Yellow Curry with Chicken and an Old Fashioned. Both were great! The Yellow Curry was at just the right spice level. I will be going back for more. I gave them four stars because of the portion size. Other than that, the experience was a good one. The staff was attentive and friendly.

I was so excited when I heard Basil Thai opened a location one block away! I was not able to try it until this past Sunday(about 3 weeks after they opened). I was excited to try their cocktails and food so imagine my surprise when I asked for the cocktail menu and was told ‘We don’t have a liquor license for Sunday.’ Apparently it is in process and while it isn’t a huge deal normally I had just been on flights and in airports for 12+ hours and was hoping for a cocktail to help me sleep off the jet lag that evening. My boyfriend ordered sweet and sour chicken ‘medium’ spicy. It was a bit thick and had very little chicken. It was about a 1 on a scale of 5 in terms of heat. It was okay but a bit disappointing. I ordered Pad Thai also ‘medium’ heat. It was a passable version of the dish but I ordered shrimp and chicken and it only had chicken. The waitress offered to take it back but I declined and wasn’t charged the extra. The best thing we ordered were the appetizers! The chicken roll was delicious! It came cut into pieces and was great to share. The sauce was a light Thai style and very tasty. The chicken pot stickers were not over cooked and not greasy. I will definitely go back; maybe they are still working out opening kinks or they have a less experienced cook on Sunday; I felt the main courses were very average.

The service here was very good, friendly, attentive, timely. And I like the space, with it’s small size, interesting décor, and comfortable seating. The food is just OK. The sauces on both our curries arrived broken, which didn’t affect the flavor, but it did cause a weird texture. By the end of the meal, my plate had two different liquids on it; not what you want from a curry. The meat and veg were tasty, though, and seemed fresh. The rice was sticky, which I like. The flavor profiles seemed on point, too. There may be just some tweaking to do to bring this food up to the expectations set by its price point.

It’s kinda of hidden in a courtyard off S. Front. but it’s a nice addition to the Brewery District. It is a warm attractive contemporary space with its large patio, nice full service bar and plenty of seating. Their Pad Thai was good with a generous portion of noodles, decent amount of shrimp but light on the vegetables. The taste was good all in all but it didn’t have quite the flavor and texture mix that you expect from excellent Pad Thai. So it wasn’t the best I’ve had but the portion vs the price is a decent deal. They offer both Sinha and Chang beer so if you haven’t tried Thai beer before, you’ve got a place to check them out. Did I say they also have a patio… read on. Like I mentioned, they have a large patio just off the bar area and they have a couple signs outside advertising their happy hour which looks very interesting. The deets: Happy hour 4 – 7 Mon-Thu $ 4 Wine glasses $ 2 Draft beer The one disappointment was the Shu Mai appetizer which is way over priced for these little pre-made dumplings that I buy at CAM Asian Market for a fraction of the price these folks charge. Mind you, they’re good and the Thai Vinaigrette sauce is wonderful(seriously wonderful) but for the price — not worth it. I’d say this new place is about 3.5 stars with a little round up to 4.
