We went tonight, originally for restaurant week. My fiancée ended up eating off the RW menu but my soon to be father-in-law and I ate off the menu. We had Mike T. as a waiter and he was stupendous. He was extremely knowledgeable about he wine selections and made great recommendations for food and wine. This was my fiancée and I’s first time and my F-I-L’s second after many years. For starters, we had a calamari tapas(which is definitely large enough for three to four), a Caesar salad and a stuffed piquillo pepper. The two sauces for the calamari were perfect and the calamari was cooked perfect, it was tender and not chewy at all. The Caesar salad had amazing dressing and not too much. The stuffed pepper was sweet and delicious. For entrees, I ordered the braised short rib and scallop paella. It was amazing. Every bite was an explosion of flavor. The short rib was fall apart tender and the scallops were seated perfectly. The red peppers, mushrooms and Brussels sprouts were flavorful and an amazing blend of favors. It reminded me of being back in Spain. My father in law had the pork chop. It was thick and the cream sauce on it was superb. My fiancée had the risotto. I tried it and the sweet tomatoes on it were to die for. Since it was restaurant week, my fiancée got a dessert of bananas foster cake. I am not a big banana fan but let me tell you, I wish this was on the menu all the time because I would go for just that. The caramel on it and the bananas foster mousse in the thick graham cracker crust was to die for. Anyways, it is a bit pricey but we will definitely go back for RW and to try out their patio and feast on their tapas.

I found the food expensive and tasteless. The staff was wonderful and I highly recommend the baby arugala salad. The atmosphere was pleasant. If I went back I’d go for the bread, the argugala salad(5 stars) and the desert(4 stars)

What a lovely place! We have come here previously but for restaurant week so it kind of didn’t count. Tonight we were here to celebrate and they did not disappoint. We decided to go first of all with a carafe of sangria which was a wise decision because it was delicious! For food we decided on 3 small plates and a desert. This was a really surprising amount of food! The small plates are not too small so we had a good amount of food. All of the food here was exceptional. We enjoyed everything! The service was really nice as well. Not too over bearing which I like. Also notable is that they brought over a small bite from the chef chef which I know they bring to every table but I think it’s a nice touch. We will for sure be back.

I love the German Village area of Columbus, but until today I had not visited Barcelona(get it?) We had a mini family reunion this afternoon(yes, my Aunt Minnie was there… I am cracking myself up today), and enjoyed catching up over some great food. I had the arugula salad with grilled salmon, which was excellent. Others had small plates with beautiful imported meats and cheeses. Groups of women ALWAYS have dessert… a unique twist on pineapple upside down cake for me. Yummy! Can’t forget the service — Excellent. Shout out to my cousin, Janie, who picked up the check… you have ALWAYS been my favorite cousin, even before the AmEx black card :-).

Came here with a couple good friends for happy hour. They have a list of tapas aka small plates which are great to share with a couple friends. They also have a decent list of cocktails which were made well. I didn’t think the food was amazing, but it was definitely good and a bang for your buck. I had two tapas to myself and I was stuffed. I think it’s a fun place for happy hour, and I would definitely come back.

Been meaning to try this place for a while and hadn’t gotten around to it, so I was happy when a friend told me she was having her 30th birthday dinner here. There were about 15 of us. Our server was attentive at 1st but at one point it seemed he did forget about us and didn’t return for about 10 – 15 minutes. Minor gripe. I sampled 2 of the cocktails, 1st the Peachtree then a Lemon Drop. The latter was much better than the 1st. I visited Barcelona, Spain this summer and had authentic Spanish paella so I was very interested to see how their version measured up. I think this also might be the only restaurant in Columbus that has it? I ordered the meat/seafood version with chicken, clams, mussels, squid and chorizo. While not quite on the level of what I had in Europe, it was very good! The rice was soft as it should be but not mushy, loads of meat and seafood. Others at the table had the salmon, and the short rib w/mac and cheese tapas dish and said they were good as well. FYI their menu changes regularly so what’s available one day might not be a few weeks after. One thing I didn’t like is that a custom birthday cake was brought in for my friend’s 30th along with cupcakes. While we were«allowed» to eat the cupcakes, if we wanted to have cake the restaurant advised us we would be charged $ 3 per person. With a larger group this was going to end up being more than the cost of the cake pretty much. I haven’t experienced this before so I’m not sure if this is a new thing restaurants are doing or what… but just a heads up if you’re coming here for a special occasion. Don’t bring any cake lol.

Nestled in the German Village, Barcelona serves some great Spanish style cuisine in a classy atmosphere. Ample selection of tapas which, apparently, keep rotating in and out of the menu, and very good paellas. The service was quick and attentive without being overwhelming. Reservations recommended.

Barcelona is one of our favorite spots in town. The layout, brick, hardwood floors, etc. makes for a great date night or business meeting. The bar is full of delicious options and has never disappointed me. Favorites include: Almonds — Yes, order these Brussels sprouts salad — It is crisp, full of flavor and a perfect start to your meal Scallops — Oh my. Barcelona Paella — This is a delicious combination of wonderful things. You will want to marry it. Great service, unique wine list and love the atmosphere.

The patio is definitely the place to sit. Make a reservation or call ahead for that. The interior hosts local artists work on the walls. They are always featuring new artists every so often. The paella is the best thing on the menu. I’ve traveled a lot. Ate paella everyday I whilst in Spain and this place beats that! .can’t make that up. The chef here lived and dined in Spain for a year before making it here. Get it. Eat it ALL up. Don’t come starving. The small plates will lose you and you’ll get angry.(Been there) Had the duck with sweet potatoes and veggies. It was HEAVENLY. The duck was cooked medium = perfection. The flavores had my taste buds dancing as well as my body. Seriously insanely good. Go. Eat. Enjoy.

Went here based on ratings and was not disappointed. Had a superb paella lunch. A little on the pricey side, but the food and service were great. Ambience was nice too. I’d imagine this place is buzzing at night, although it seemed a little out of place in the local area.

I’m ashamed to say I visited for the first time last month. Wow! Barcelona is amazing. The paella blew me away. The small plates were amazing and the drinks were fantastic. What really blew me away was the service. Everyone from the greeters, wait staff, bar tenders to Managment were great. Attentive, fun and authentic. Great job. I can’t wait to go back and change my review to 5 stars!

I loved Barcelona. I had a peach sangria and it was so good. Had two small plates, short ribs and cheese tray which were delicious and our waitress was wonderful, my friend wanted recipe for oil mixture for the bread and got it and the ambiance there is cozy and warm. Can’t wait to go again.

Barcelona is AWESOME! I love coming here for a date night or to meet friends for a classy night out. It’s a little spendy, but totally worth it. The list of cocktails is unreal and sometimes overwhelming. You will more than likely find at least 5 that you want to try, but if you’re indecisive, just go for the Barcelona Manhattan. So tasty. The red sangria is awesome if you want something more refreshing. We came here last night with 4 friends who hadn’t been here before. They were all very impressed with the service and ambiance and all of our plates were clean at the end of the night! Our server Mike T. was awesome! He was funny, friendly, attentive, and informative about the menu options. Very very professional and we had fun with him. We started with the cheese plate(all 5 were great), the avocado stuffed with goat cheese, and the patatas brava. A perfect amount of tapas to split before the main event. I tried the Zuzuela for my entrée which is a seafood stew. It was amazing. Our friends ordered the filet and veggie paella. Both of those looked fantastic too. If you want a grown up place to go for the evening, definitely consider Barcelona. You won’t be disappointed.

I’ve wanted to check out more of the«Fine Dining» restaurants lately, thus I figured I’d be here for their happy hour time. However, a few weeks back, I called to ask about the«specials» at this establishment, and the host told be about there ½ off tapas menu the first Wednesday of every month. Perfect! We made reservations for a table @ 7 pm, with a preference for the patio(the patio is first come, first serve only), but it had an hour wait when we arrived. Maybe next time! Surprisingly more casual than I expected. Fine-dining menu, but the atmosphere was quite welcoming(not pretentious). The space is large! Not very wide, but quite long(from front to back). Thus, plenty of seating. Our experience started out a tad bit questionable. Our waitress was prompt when coming to our table right away. She was then going to give us a few minutes to peruse the drink menu before coming back. But it took her close to 12 minutes. When she did finally make it back, she sincerely apologized for the hold-up. She was serving an eight-top, while running food, since they were short on staff. Understandable! I got three different tapas — all amazingly good. — Aguacate Relleno: Perfectly ripe avocado quarters. The crab meat was wonderful, too. I could order that tapa all day, every day: p If it comes back around on their menu, I suggest you try it! –Salmorejo: Another excellent plate! The soup was like a cold tomato bisque. Flavor explosion! Fantastic, masked, cucumber flavor. 100% fresh tomato; two thumbs up for that one, too. –Ensalada de Farro: Interesting flavor. The avocado vinaigrette had some tart to it. I was just too full to finish it. PS, this joint changes there THREE separate menus EVERYWEEK! That is phenomenal. Talk about kitchen talent: kudos to the chef!

STILLGREAT!!! We love Barcelona. The food is great, the sangria, wine and full bar are great, the ambiance is so very cool, the service is excellent, and they have one of the best dining patios in all of Columbus. Great tapas, great entrees, delicious desserts, really good sangria available by the glass or carafe. Barcelona was one of my favorites a decade ago, and it’s still great, still fresh and still current.

Initially I visited Barcelona for happy hour and was not very impressed. However, i’ve subsequently returned twice for dinner and was thoroughly impressed with my dining experiences both times. The atmosphere is intimate and comfortable. They also have a great patio that is packed during warm weather. Another great thing about Barcelona is their live music on Sunday nights. I would actually recommend going on a Sunday night if you’re visiting for the first time. The live music(usually jazz) really adds to the dining experience. As far as the food goes, everything has been excellent. They have quite an extensive menu, including 10+ tapas and a multitude of entrees. I enjoyed their avocado aquacate relleno tapas very much. My mom also raved about their Wedge Salad, which was served with candied walnuts and Serrano ham. My go-to dish is their Paella Barcelona, consisting of chicken, chorizo, shrimp, squid, clams and mussels. $ 30 is a bit steep for paella, but it tastes amazing and the portions are large. They don’t skimp on the protein either, so splurging once in a while on a dish like this is okay by me. My mom was enamored by Barcelona and claimed it was one of her favorite dining experiences in recent memory. She also told me to take a girl here. Okay mom… but in all seriousness, Barcelona would be a good date spot(maybe not FIRST date spot). I’ll be back soon to check out their patio again.

While German Village is full of amazing restaurants, Barcelona probably is my favorite. Not only is the food here really good, the menu is pretty creative, they offer delicious Spanish wines that I typically don’t see elsewhere, the service is top-notch, and the interior is lively yet unobstrusive. You might wonder, «Isn’t it odd for a Spanish restaurant to be located in German village?» but whatever, I don’t care. Well, maybe I do. Maybe I want Barcelona to be closer to my house in Upper Arlington so I could go more often. I usually like to try different menu items each time I visit that particular restaurant, but at Barcelona, I almost always end up getting their paella. Fortunately, they usually have several different types of paella to choose from. The seafood that they use for their paella is always fresh(well, as fresh as you can get here in landlocked Ohio,) and quite honestly, Barcelona’s paella is better than the paella that I’ve actually had in Spain! We went on a 2 week trip to Spain, France, and Portugal in 2012 and I ate paella in Barcelona(the city), Alicante, Palma Mallorca, and Malaga… but none were as good as Columbus’ very own Barcelona(the restaurant). This restaurant, very deservingly, is pretty busy. So be sure to book a reservation a few days ahead of time to guarantee yourself a table on your date of choice!

I’ve always really liked Barcelona, but it’s never been my go-to for a big dinner. Usually I’m looking for something new and fancy to try, but those days might be coming to an end. I had the most wonderful experience at Barcelona last week, and during 614 Restaurant Week, no less! First, I must mention that our server was a total delight. She was very excited, and talked up the entire menu, including the Restaurant Week menu. In my experience, this is unusual, as many times I’ve ordered from the RW menu and I got the distinct impression that the service is not as attentive as it might have been if I had ordered off the regular menu(cough, Rigsby’s, cough). I detected none of that, which pleased me a great deal because the RW menu looked delicious. My friend and I each decided to order the RW menu. For the first course, I got the Espárragos con Jamón and my friend got the Setas Fritas. Both were good, but his were better. The fritters were lightly fried, and the aioli was a nice compliment. My asparagus was cooked well and the ham was tasty, just not as remarkable as the fritters. Our second courses were Bistec a la Parilla(him) and Camarones(me.) This time, mine was better. The flavors in the shrimp and polenta and onion straws were amazing. And it smelled so good! Just delicious. His Bistec a la Parilla was a good size for a skirt steak and yummy in its own right, but we both liked the shrimp more. Finally, for dessert, he had the Churro Cupcake, and it was good if a little awkward to eat. I ordered the Maple Pecan Blondie, which came with a little ice cream. Yes, yes, yes! It was exactly what I wanted, and a superb finish to a lovely meal. Oh! We also ordered a bottle of wine, a rioja, on our server’s recommendation, and it was lovely. I am really surprised at myself for not coming to Barcelona more. The service, the atmosphere, the food, the wine – it was all great. This year, my resolution is to eat at Barcelona more often!
