Traded in my phone for a newer one. They couldn’t transfer my photos, contacts, music. Should have run then. Had to buy another SD card. They put some of my personal information onto that and promised to hold onto the traded in phone until I confirmed the information was all on the card. It was NOT and when I returned, before I said I would get back to them, they basically said sorry, we erased your card and sent your phone out! Are you kidding me! Response: sorry.

People dog At&t all the time but I’ve been a customer for 15 years and never had really had any issues. Today I went into this store on High street to see if they had an adaptor for my Samsung Galaxy that would connect it to my car. Curtis came up to me(I think that was his name and if it’s not I will correct it when find out) and he was AWESOME. Seriously I fell a little in love with him he was so great. He brought an adapter with me out to my car to see if it would work. Had to walk across a parking lot to get to my car and no complaints. The first one didn’t work so he went and got another one, came back with it, hooked it up and sold it to me ATMYCAR. Above and beyond, professional and nice. This was after Radio Shack that they looked all over and couldn’t find anything, the phone rang and he proceeded to talk to his boss for 10 minutes while I waitied… Thanks Curtis!

I would have to say that this location pretty much rules in the grand scheme of AT&T stores. I must admit that I’m not the typical customer, I have several iPhones on a business account and I usually deal directly with a personal rep but at times I need to pop into a store and swap out SIM cards(odd, I know) and the staff here usually gives me the least amount of hassle. I don’t mind giving them a break either, being the main campus location they certainly deal with a lot of shady types and in spite of that the staff was pleasant and informative. I will return here when I need to hit up the store.

I’ve been going to this store for several years now and I have no serious complaints. The staff is generally very helpful, for starters. One issue I have is that they are always out of the sort of essential goods you would want for a phone new to the market — headsets, cases, screen protectors. My most recent visit was to pick up the new Samsung Galaxy S(new to the US anyway). They had those in stock, no problem, but only one style of case and no screen protectors. I was told they might get a gel case in the next day, and to possibly stop back in. I did that, and still no cases. I bought the one case they had and some iPhone screen protectors that I trimmed so it worked well enough. Previously, I bought a Nokia e71x right after they were released and encountered the same issues. No real case options and minimal accessories. Same thing two years before that when I got my first smart phone, can’t even remember the brand. I also asked about the GPS on the Captivate(AT&Ts name for the Galaxy S) and they hadn’t even heard about it. The GPS doesn’t work right. There are forums up all over the internet about it, Samsung, Android forums, carriers, tech forums, etc. If you’re selling that stuff, you should probably be at least aware of the issue, even if there isn’t a known solution yet.

I had a good experience at AT&T today! However, I would normally agree with Sean S. about having to deal with AT&T. I generally have to brace myself for an all out bro-down when my phone breaks. My last experience(before today) here involved me having to buy an AT&T wireless modem and modem service, even though I already had one from Time Warner — the AT&T one of which ended up NOT working even after numerous service calls — in order to get a reasonable price on a new phone after my previous phone died(oh and I never even got two of the rebates on the modem that I was supposed to get, amounting to about seventy dollars). Okay, so I dropped my phone in the toilet at Bodega — so what? I still believe I shouldn’t be treated like sh*t by broskis who only help slutted out undergrads who whine about what their parents are going to do to them if they find out that they puked all over their phones(true story I overheard once — blonde hot pants wearing girl totally got a deal, while I was hosed). Most of the people in this store are completely unhelpful, to say the least. And in an age when we’re at the mercy of our cell phones and cell phone providers, this can be highly stress-inducing. Anyway, that aside, I had a pleasant young lady help me today and guess what? Everything was taken care, there was none of the usual panic/trauma at all, we even had a genuine conversation(about her being in grad school — psssh I feel bad that she has to work with the bros). I ended up getting a(gasp) iphone for 99 bucks, and apple care, and some manager special that included a case and an itunes gift card. I can’t even explain how pleasant and easy the whole thing was, and how radically, mind-bendingly different it was from every other time I’ve been in here. I’m not saying it’s a gender issue, I’m saying those bros really effing suck to deal with. They’re rude, leer at college girls, act disinterested, and screw you over(re: modem, etc etc etc). If you go in, ask for Erica — she gets five stars. Eveyone else gets one.

I don’t have much to say about this specific location other than the level of customer service I received was some of the worst I’ve ever gotten from any business. In fact, the person helping me was downright rude. He made it very obvious that he didn’t want to be bothered. In fact, after asking to see some phones that I could upgrade to he rolled his eyes and said, «You’d probably just be better off going to the AT&T web site». It was very obvious this store did not want my business, so I left. The guy looked visibly tired and possibly even hung-over, but that’s no excuse when you intend on dropping a good amount of cash on a piece of merchandise.
