Eh, it’s closer to a New York style pizza. It’s the closest thing to it though in Columbus. If i lived in the short north/campus area would definitely get a late night slice of pizza here… but not worth the drive from the burbs. I like how its next to an art studio. Good pizza but not a New York pizza. Nice Try.

It’s been two years since I’ve reviewed A Slice of New York. I think it’s time for an update. I still love eating lunch here with a buddy of mine — $ 5 for two cheese and a pop. The pizza is always hot and crispy and delicious. And these aren’y measly slices. These are like a 1⁄8 of a pie slices. Two slices are filling. Tehy don’t waste your god damn time with the«whole wheat organic crust» or «freshly grown basil and straight from the cow’s teats cheese» — they do great fucking pizza.

Slice of New York, New York style pizza eaten by authentic New Yorkers for what it’s worth. Thin, foldable slices come out of the oven crispy and hot enough to leave second degree burns on the roof of my mouth. You can get two slices and a delicious fountain beverage for five lousy bucks. It’s super low key during the day, but it gets CRAZY when the kids are out. I used to eat here a lot when I was at the Newport all the time. I don’t visit as often now, but I still love it and I recommend it to people regularly. Popular and polarizing. A campus institution that draws people from all over to glutinous shores, is it the ice? The slice? Or something more?

Thanks, Slice of New York. You really are Flying Pizza in every way except your name. Same pizza, same deals, same grungy set up. Cheap slices, crushed ice and good fountain drinks? Sold!

Dear Ohioans, Learn what good pizza is. This is not it. Canned mushrooms? Seriously? Oh, and a New York slice is generally much thinner than this. Also, staff, the place is on campus and I know you get a lot of drunk students in late at night, but attempt to clean. You’re nice at least. :)

One of the better quick pizza places on campus, in my opinion. If you’re looking for cheap, hot(seriously, scorching hot) pizza, this is your place. Grease levels aren’t quite as bad as Catfish Biff’s, and they don’t do anything too special — cheese, pepperoni, and mushrooms are the toppings — but the crust is my favorite around here and the slices are big. I believe they have a deal where you get a free drink with the purchase of two slices during lunchtime hours on weekdays.

A Slice of New York is very, very convenient: right across the street from Sullivant Library where I spent many a day and night, and close to campus and where I usually park if I arrive on a weekend or after 5(for night classes). The staff is very nice and it is reasonably priced. And the pizza is not cut into stupid squares(what is with that, Midwest?!) and it tastes decent. Is it greasy? Yes. Greasy enough to merit putting a napkin over it to soak up the grease? Oh yes. Is it crispy and delicious? No. But it’s good enough, and good in a hurry, and sometimes that’s good enough for me!

Apparently this used to be called«Flying Pizza» and apparently, people who know that take that fact very seriously. Whatevs. I was a n00b. I came here for lunch this week with a few friends(of the Flying Pizza variety). It was crazy tiny and crowded — usually an indicator that the place is either really good or really cheap. Well… Slice of NY fits the bill for both! Two slices of pizza and a drink for $ 5 is their lunch special — and these slices aren’t a joke, either, they’re pretty massive. And yummy! Cheesy goodness. Yeah, so Flying Pizza is now A Slice of NY. Nothing’s really changed: more seating options(two booths!), same burn your palate cheese slices, same canned mushrooms marinating in tomato paste, same parmesan behind the counter. If I’m terribly hungry and want doughy crust with slopped together pizza, this is where I go. If I can wait, I’ll head to Z Pizza.
