This delightful B&B is located in small town southeast Ohio and approximately an hour and a half west of Pittsburgh. Columbiana is a neat little town nestled in beautiful and apparently prosperous farm country. There are several little antique shops, simple restaurants, as well as country farm stands just outside of town. Owners Paul and Susie were hands-on in gutting and renovating this historic home. Their efforts paid off in both the remodeling and the subsequent decorating. I found it to be very quiet. I could hear people walking in the hall but once they were in their rooms, I heard no voices or other sounds. You can hear minor traffic noise from the street and the low roar of occasional trains. I didn’t find either to be troubling. I stayed in the Anita Marie suite which was spacious(two rooms plus the private bath) and comfortable(great bed and sofa). There is a problem with breakfast — it’s so good and plentiful that I overate each morning. Fresh fruits, juices, homemade granola, yogurt, pancakes or casserole, good coffee, and more. They use local sausage and bacon that have no additives. Parking is off the rear alley, there was enough room, and it appeared to be quite safe. The neighborhood is very nice. I have no problem recommending that you make a reservation if you’re looking for wonderful small town lodgings in that area.
