My family is partial to flavored olive oil and balsamic vinegars. We were happy when we came across a bethesda shop that sells these products. A bit bummed because we had to travel from Fort Meade to Bethesda. So we were extremely pleased when a shop opened in Columbia. It’s right outside in the newest mall addition. You can taste most products and if you become a fan as we have, take your empty bottles back and refill. You save a dollar. Try the oils and the vinegars. Our favorite oil is the roasted garlic. We use this instead of regular olive oil. Delicious. We don’t have a favorite vinegar or balsamic. Too many choices and all are yummy.

Let me preface this review by saying that I’ve been to my share of oil & vinegar «taprooms» in my time. Given that, I have a pretty good idea of varying levels of oil and vinegar quality and appropriate pricing. Secolari stocks all your usual, and many unique, varieties of olive oil and balsamic vinegar flavors, exotic salts and seasoning mixes, and random other foodie items. Overall I’d say that they’re definitely above average in terms of genuine flavor (for example their roasted garlic is one of the best, truest tasting of its kind that I’ve tried). Unfortunately they’re also above average in price, which is why I’m only giving 3 stars.
