This is my favorite pizza place in columbia. All of the specialty pizzas are great. I wish the place was a little bit bigger because it gets crowded easiler there. Good pitcher prices. I woupd recommend this place to everyone if you love a good pizza.

When they say New York Style Pizza, they mean it. Even though I don’t live in the Forest Acres area, I’ve passed this place on a few occasions and have wanted to try it(since it is not your typical national chain pizza joint). The girl I had dinner with lives in the area and said that this place always looks busy, and this past weeks visit was no different. I had ordered two slices of their pizza thinking they would be bigger than your typical run of the mill pizza place slices, and was surprised when my order came out that each slice was on its own plate. I probably could have survived on one slice. I also ordered their pretzel(?) knots as an appetizer, which I believe is a new menu item. The only thing that was a disappointment was that the knits were almost drenched in garlic sauce — it seemed whatever sauce did not stay on the knots(and it was quite a bit for the five knots you got), most of the sauce remained in the basket. It’s a seat yourself establishment and was greeted by the waitress fairly quickly(though it was 7:00 on a Wednesday evening). There’s a bar here, too. Parking can be tricky as the parking lot is not that big.

Overall, In my opinion, the food is great but plan on waiting a long time to be acknowledged by a waitress. I’ve been here 3 times. All 3 times we experienced issues. The first visit we had a «very major issue» with the food. Manager was extremely apologetic and took care of our bill. The second time, we sat and waited 10 minutes, but no waitress. I went to a waitress at the computer and explained we haven’t been helped and that we’d like to order drinks. She said she would have someone come to our table and we could order drinks through them. I waited another 5 minutes and still nothing. We were about to leave but decided to tell the manager why we were leaving. He was apologetic and said if we stay our meal is on the house. We stayed, the manager took good care of us, and the rest of the evening was fine. On the third visit, again we waited 10 minutes for service. Everything was fine during the meal, but when we paid, the waitress didn’t give us the coin portion of our change. She kept it. We didn’t even get a copy of the receipt back. I’ve never been to a restaurant where they didn’t give you the full change back.

Great atmosphere and service! Great food! I have been here twice now, had pizza and then the garlic knots and a calzone, all three were excellent. The beer selection is fantastic as well, a lot of variety.

Amazing. I don’t like bars, but I like to have a drink or two. I do love good pizza. This is the place to enjoy both. Friendly staff, great good, excellent beer selection(liquor is another story), and great ambiance. I have been here every weekend for the last 4 weeks and will continue for the next 4 until I go home. FREEWIFI. Check this place out if you want to grab a slice and enjoy your time.

I give it a three. My roommate and I were craving pizza but couldn’t decide on toppings. So we decided to get Calzones from Pizza Joint. I had the Jerk Chicken and was very dissapointed. No jerk seasoning whatsoever. Very little flavour. Very bland. Sauce was ok. My roommate had the pepperoni and spinach. He enjoyed it. Three stars for amazing looking food, super friendly staff, and decent prices.

One of the best pizza places. While training at Ft Jackson for 3 months we went to a lot of local places, but I think we went here the most often. The Monday deal of ½ off 14″ pizza was awesome. Good service, fun atmosphere, I’ll miss it.

Yesterday was my 4th visit to Pizza Joint Forest Acres. It getting three stars because of past experiences were great, but yesterday was pretty much terrible. Let me talk about our other visits, then I’ll talk about yesterday, since I know most people don’t make it much past the stars and the first sentence. In the past I would have given Pizza Joint a four or five star review. It’s always been on point. Their Calzones and Strombolies are both dynamite most visits. I love the Veggie Calzone, and my wife loves the Italian meat Stromboli(not sure what the actual name is). We’ve had the meatball hoagie, and the meatball app as well. Enjoyed them both. Service has all ways been top notch, the beer is always cold, and the restaurant is clean. That is what made us drive across town yesterday to dine here. Yesterday was the first time I had their pizza. So to our latest visit, yesterday… We went during the off time of day, so we figure there may have only been one person in the kitchen doing a terrible job. Our waitress was awesome, but that was the only good part of this visit. Because my wife has eaten part of my veggie calzone in the past, she opted for it. We both LOVE artichokes, which is the first thing on the menu in the description of the calzone. Like I said, I hadn’t ever tried their pizza, and since they had it by the slice I got pizza. My favorite pie is pepperoni, mushroom, and onions. The wife isn’t a huge fan of that combo, so I took this opportunity to get my favorite. When our food came out, I immediately noticed that between my two slices of pizza there was a total of 6 pepperonis, and that each slice needed a little more time in the oven as the dough was soft. If these were small slices that wouldn’t have been an issue, but they are nice large NY style slices. Which means I got maybe 7 – 8 bights between the two with pepperoni. As a former pizza maker at three different places, and doing food orders knowing what pepperoni cost(not to mention working with some lazy dudes in the past), I would put money on it that the cook’s shift was ending in 30 minutes and he didn’t want to restock the line. There is NO way it is protocol to put three pepperonis on one large slice of pizza. If you ever read my reviews, as a former food and bev person, I HATE sending food back. I was ready to do this, but when we saw how messed up my wife’s calzone was we opted to send it back and both munch on the pizza while we waited. So her calzone… Like I said, one of our main reason’s for ordering it was the artichokes. Side note, something we don’t eat… BLACKOLIVES. The calzone came out with two cups of black olives in it with zero artichokes. Again, I’d say the cook didn’t want to stock the line, so he tried to hide the fact that he didn’t put artichokes on it by putting black olives on it. Did I mention the calzone doesn’t come with black olives? The cook didn’t even know his menu? We took the calzone to the bar where our waitress was waiting on another order and told her the dilemma. She took the calzone back to be remade. We shared my two pieces of pizza while we waited. These two pieces because of three toppings cost almost $ 5/per slice mind you(which wouldn’t be an issue if I thought I got my moneys worth.) When the calzone came back we ate about half before boxing the rest and leaving. I really wish I could remember our servers name cause she was GREAT! We would never ask to have something taken off our bill. We pay for what we order on principal, but she had already taken the calzone off the bill. This was a great touch, and will ensure we come back… We will not come between 2:30 and 3:30 on a Sunday out of fear of the same staff member in the kitchen. I will update this review and make it much shorter after our next visit saying it’s back up to par.

Decent pizza in SC is hard to find. The Pizza Joint offers a variety of sizes toppings and crust all in a family safe atmosphere, the restaurant seats maybe 50 including seating at a full service bar, additional seating outside that is not covered. There is plenty of on sight parking available. The salads were fresh, service was quick and the pizza was hot. There were two servers, ample for this size eatery.

This is the best lunch place in town! I’ve been several times and yesterday, I took several colleagues and they agreed. The price is phenomenal and the food is great. For just $ 5.25 you get a choice of two of the following: half of a sandwich(chicken parm, Big Mike –my fave!-, Billy Club), salad, pizza or bread sticks. I’ve only been here for lunch, but it looks like it they have great happy hour specials too.

I really like the Pizza Joint. I both eat in and get it to go. I love the crust on their pizzas and garlic knots! They’re delicious! They also serve huge pizzas that you can split with a group of friends or family. My boyfriend prefers Village Idiot, but Pizza Joint is the only place where I willingly eat the enter crust! Service was great, the wait wasn’t long. Beer specials aren’t bad either.

The last 2 times I have stopped in here I’ve been sorely disappointed… the garlic knots were either very undercooked or overcooked. The service has always been good. Tonight though was a different story. I decided to give them one more chance. Had a hard day at work and was really looking forward to some comfort food. I always order the same thing… garlic knots and a slice of white pizza with pineapple and ham. This time it was absolute PERFECTION. .the food as well as the service! The knots were done just right and this pizza was very flavorful :) .I don’t think they could have improved on this wonderful meal… even if they tried! am glad I stopped in… they do have the best garlic knots in town Oh…the server suggested on adding a little bit of Alfredo sauce as the pizza base. 2 words to describe it.OMG.YUM!!!

Come here for the pizza and stay here for the pints on Tuesday! Awesome selection of craft beers for only 2.00, sucks that’s it’s only Tuesday but this might help you make it through the week. Nice place away from downtown with some decent slices to chow down on.
