Not a great experience at all. The bed was clean and that’s why it has two stars but overall very disappointing. The first guy on check in was nice but after that they were rude. The air conditioning didn’t work and they had no house keeping we had to keep going to get new towels. Breakfast was a joke by the way, one old banana and some tiny Walmart muffins. We went for the army basic training graduation and I asked before we left when check out was and then I get a call in the middle of my husbands graduation and when I listened to the voice mail afterwards it was that they were going to pack up our room FORUS and leave our stuff outside. NOTPROFESSIONALATALL. We got back and thank goodness they hadn’t gotten to it yet and we were able to get our stuff but they were harassing us the whole time. Oh also, you can even walk past the bed in the room because how small it was.

I can’t give it a 1 star cause I did sleep in the bed. And I did get a hot shower. But the amount of money I paid I want more luxury call me bougie if you want but I don’t want cracked sinks, a freaking old washcloth up in the shower, sheets that look dirty. And I it wasn’t for my 1am arrival after a long ass ride from VA and a tearful ass visit with my dying GodMother I would have came downstairs and slept in my car. Oh well. This is an excellent hotel for construction workers on an overnight stint with the boys. Not me. Thanks for the stay. I’m going somewhere else.

One’s first impression upon arrival and parking across from the lobby entrance is the disgusting state of neglect – there is plenty of trash in the grass and shrubs. Yuck! Fortunately, the rest of the inside property is much better, although the bath towels are dinky, but seriously… send somebody out there and clean it up!

Friendly management, very welcoming. But air conditioners sound like a single engine prop plane taxing for take off. Breakfast was sparse. Disappointing experience at a new property.

There’s a saying that even if you put lipstick on a pig, it’s still a pig. Microtel personifies this statement. This hotel(or motel? Microtel? Not sure what to call it) is located off the beaten path. It’s three stories with a large self parking lot and on this particular night it was not at capacity, thank goodness. The hotel(?) claims to have undergone some sort of renovation recently. Per their website, the entire facility had been updated but we did not find this to be the case. Henry, the customer service agent on duty, made check-in seamless. The elevator missed the renovation. It had dated, dirty carpet with crumbs all over the place and was clearly old. I held my breath as it creaked and moaned its way to the second floor. The first room I received on the second floor was reminiscent of a cruise ship interior cabin, you know the really cheap ones at the bottom of the ship. Now, obviously I am not a hotel snob since I entertained this place, but not only was the room super small and cramped, every shred of linen in it was dingy. From the towels to the bed coverings and even the little nook near the window, the linens were tainted yellow as if someone had indeed smoked in this non smoking room… and for a WHILE. To top it off it smelled like one of those cheap car air fresheners, as if that were going to cover the smoky smell. The smell was overpowering so Henry moved us to the third floor. While this room didn’t smell like«cheap incense» as Henry described it, it was the same cruise ship cabin set up and it did have a mildewy smell. There were glaring cigarette burns on the floor and more über dingy linens. By now we’re ready to leave. As we’re packing our things, Henry offers us a suite on the first floor. I begrudgingly check it out and only agree to stay because I’m dog tired. The room did not smell and in spite of it being a suite it still had dingy linens. The suites are the photos you see on the internet for this microtel. They conveniently keep the photos of the rooms on the top floors out of their online gallery and for good reason. While Henry did his absolute best to make it right I would not consider staying here again. Luckily we were only in town for a night; we skipped the breakfast they offer and left first thing in the AM. This place really deserves less stars than it’s receiving. But customer service and location semi make up for what lacks in overall living experience.
