Amazing and friendly staff that are always willing to help you put together a good outfit. They have a large selection of clothes and costume rentals.

I am not real big on vintage clothing, but if I were, this would be the place! We stopped in during a week day, so we had plenty of personal space to walk around and look at things. They definitely use ALL the space in this venue with displays going all the way up the wall into the second story area. I really enjoyed checking out the dresses from the 1920s, 30s, and 40s, as I read a lot of historical fiction from these eras. In the front of the store is a little«living room» type area decorated with items for sale. Cool! I enjoyed looking through a box of vintage posters/pictures from the United Methodist Church; they were pictures from missions in Africa and included African children and white missionaries. If I could have figures out a way to use them, I would have purchased some, and I am still contemplating how to use them so I can buy some. OK, so aside from vintage clothing, this is also a costume/wig shop. I do not even know how to talk about these elements. If you are interested in a vintage costume, they have them. Same with wigs. I will definitely make this one of my stops every time I am in Columbia; I think some day soon I will find a treasure!

I remember when Maude’s was a smaller shop down the street from their current location. They have always had a great selection of vintage clothing, and also promote local artists by selling original pieces and handmade jewelry. I also like their costume rentals, because the prices are set, so you know what you’re going to pay and there’s no surprises. The staff is friendly, the owner is awesome, the store is clean, and I don’t really know what else you could ask for. Best!

Didn’t spend too much time here, but it seemed like they have a lot of clothing and accessories. Most of it appeared too dated or eclectic/hipster-ish for my taste. I did find a Banana Republic dress in great condition, but I think it was like $ 20, which in my opinion is too much for second-hand. They do have everything nicely arranged and the staff was quite courteous and pleasant. I probably wouldn’t go back, but for someone whose style taste differs from mine, it could be a good place to find clothes.

I don’t know why it took me over a year to write this review, but it did. I was visiting Columbia last summer and I took a walk on Broadway to see what all stores they had. Of course there was at least one or two vintage places on my radar, this being one of them. I saw a REALLY sweet looking white eyelet dress on a mannequin on the top of a table. It seemed obnoxious for me to ask the staff here to get it down for me and undress the mannequin so I could try it on, but I asked anyway and I am glad I did. The staff guy was really, really nice and didn’t mind me asking! I tried the dress on and it fit me like a GLOVE seriously one of the best fitting, and cutest vintage dresses I own. And it definitely didn’t smell like an old person’s closet. I love it! I hope it fits me for a long time because I will rock it every spring and summer. It has a weird asymmetrical hem in the front but it’s so unique! Love love love! They also sell zombie earrings here which ROCK and I bought some for my sister!

Exactly what I want in a thrift shop. I really can’t believe I had never heard of this place. I ADORE thrift shops and antique stores and for whatever reason I thought that Columbia didn’t have any good ones! Boy was I mistaken. This place is awesome. It has clothing, costumes, jewelry, accessories, and other hand-crafted items that you would never expect. Most of the time with stores like these some things can get way overpriced, but this store does a wonderful job of keeping prices down on their high quality products. I was in there for about 30 minutes and I found 2 shirts and one romper that were incredibly cute and were quite cheap. The staff is friendly and very helpful. When I was there one of the staff members was having to deal with a stressed out angry mother trying to help her daughter shop for a costume for a school project. The employee did a great job at continuously bringing out new options and reassuring the mother that they would find something that would fit perfectly. I personally really enjoyed looking through all of the old hat boxes and classic luggage pieces. If I wasn’t living in the dorm right now I would have definitely bought a few things from that department! Overall this store is unique, cheaper than most, and has a great assortment of stuff. — M

Great vintage at reasonable prices… I’ve been shopping at Maude for years, and the place just gets better every time I go.

This is a pretty decent place for the young hipsters out there– even some of the old hipsters, especially those who played frogger or that star wars game on an old Atari(because they have one there, you can actually play, by gosh) — and there is really some amazing stuff to be found in the vintage department, and also some local designers. Also they have a basement full ‘o costume stuff of all sorts of clothes, and they also rent suits and stuff. The folks are very nice, and the owner has even got some yoga classes going after business hours(cost: whatever you can give)! So there is almost all you need in terms of clothing, entertainment, and some exercise. They also have a really nice website, and if you prefer reality, check it out for their window dressings. They are the mannequin gurus.

I live in New York and I can buy stylish gifts for friends at a fraction of the price when I’m back visiting the old college stomping grounds. There is a pretty good deal of selection, but the real treat is looking around and find that one special item. The friendly staff is always willing to help. In Dec, I bought a girlfriend a handmade dress complete with a polka dotted belt from the 1970’s for only 18 dollars. People in Brooklyn pay $ 40 and up for a good deal of the stuff Maude has to offer. Finally, they have a good selection of Cosby sweaters. Need I say more?

Why are there so many vintage hats in Columbia, MO? It’s crazy. Out of all the vintage stores I went into(I think there were 5 – 6 downtown), this was my favorite. I found a dress that seems like it was MADE for me. Can’t wait to wear it out to a cocktail party. Very reasonable prices. My dress was $ 12(I hate those pretentious Hollywood thrift shops that sell stinky vintage dresses for $ 50). And the best part is, my new dress doesn’t smell bad at all! I will be visiting this shop again before I leave town to pick up a crazy hat.

Oh this place was good. Very good. Better than lots of «vintage» shops in Chicago, thats for sure. Lots and lots of fun accessories and jewelry. I don’t really know what else to say. This place is a must on any of my future visits. Just go and see for yourself.
