One word… Damn!!! Awesome dessert. I had the mountain of chocolate and wife had the margarita cake. Yummmm!!!

Everything we had was awesome. The server was attentive, all the desserts at the table were great(4 of us). The banana crème pie was amazing. Cuban coffee was meh. but then again I’m used to what you get in Miami, for SC it was probably the best you could get anywhere. Everyone who had dessert martinis was really impressed. Good job! I’ll certainly come back and bring others with me.

We stopped in for a post-lunch coffee and dessert(which was becoming a trend in our trip). We were excited to see the large display case filled with cake options. I ended up just ordering a dirty chai, thinking I would mooch off my friends’ cakes. We took everything to go, and were anticipating something delicious. The red velvet cake was very moist but something seemed artificial about the flavor(ok, but really, what is NATURAL about red chocolate cake). My friend ordered chocolate cake and it was a little dry — but flavors were on point. Now put those together and you would have had a perfect slice. My dirty chai wasn’t anything special. Just pretty normal in flavor, quality and price. I really want to come back one day to try the adult shakes — they look like a lot of fun!

The only thing good about this place is the atmosphere. Servers were rude, the pie was just okay, they were out of something my friend wanted. The coffee is pretty good. I’d much rather go to Nonnah’s where you are eating local, people are nice, and the food is WAY better.

Great dessert bar! I had the pecan pie with vanilla ice cream. My wife had a slice of cheesecake. Both selections were fresh and delicious. The service was rather efficent. If you are looking for a nice place for a good dessert and dessert themed adult beverages this is the place. Kaminsky’s runs circles around Nonnah’s.

Nice dessert and drinks place. Martinis are great especially the coffee one. Red velvet cake was big and pretty but bkand. My husband enjoyed his bourbon pecan pie.

This place is fantastic! I’ve had everything from their desserts to the adults coffee to the cheese and meat sampler tray and it is all great. I have to say, I just love this place. After we spend the evening at the movies, dancing, or whatever the case may be we always end up here. Absolutely worth the trip.

What a hip dessert bar! Really great atmosphere with exposed brick and fantastic décor, while music is pumping in the background(but quietly so that you could hold a conversation). The dessert menu is immense! Max, our server, couldn’t be nicer and more helpful! I had the Coconut Cream Pie and it was fantastic! So fresh: you could literally taste the coconut through smell alone! My daughter had the New York Cheesecake and she said it was one of the best… With a hearty graham cracker crust. A cute venue for a date night or a great place to catch up with friends.

Beautiful restaurant with an awesome theme. The ambiance is warm and upscale without being stuck up. A fun place to eat a dessert or drink one. The staff is kind and knowledgeable and the food and drinks are great. This will be a regular on our date night rotation.

Stopped in to celebrate a birthday and was pleasantly surprised at how welcoming and interesting his place is. We were seated, given menus and left to navigate the drinks menu on our own. Once our waitress got to our table and explained we had to pick from the case. We did that. The waitress was very scarce and hard to get ahold of. The Boston crème cake was absolutely decadent and the Cuban coffee was spot on. If the wait staff had been more attentive this would have been a 5 star review. I also might add that in a Wednesday night it was about ¾ full.

Stopped in for an expresso during a recent visit. All the baked goods looked AWESOME although I did not partake. The staff were freindly and talked about the place’s history. I hear the Mint HOTCHOCOLATE is a winner. From a local… Will return for some of that cake…

Beautiful, delicious looking cakes. We stopped in for a coffee on a date night in Columbia and were surprised to get a thimble of coffee for $ 3.00 :/ I was expecting something a little bigger. I would assume if their coffee was that much for such a small thing that the cake and pie slices would be just as outrageous.

If in the Vista and want a good dessert look no further than Kandinsky’s. Was excited that Columbia was picked to get one after being introduced to the Charleston one. The desserts on display are always changing. I had the turtle cheesecake which was pretty good. Will be returning.

This is a new dessert spot in the heart of downtown Columbia with a modern, stylish interior and atmosphere. The restaurant is actually located right next to Pearlz and they are connected from the inside so you can bounce from one to the other very easily. When we arrived, they told us there was a wait for a table even though we saw a few empty tables in the corner so we decided to find an empty spot at the bar. Since they had recently opened, they were giving away free adult milkshake shots which are just milkshakes with some alcohol as well. We had a Reese’s one which was pretty good and tasted very smooth. There was another more coffee based one which was ok but not as good. At the entrance of the location, they have a glass window with their desserts lined up, similar to that of Nonnah’s with assorted cakes and pies. We decided to order a slice a cake but it took a few minutes to flag down one of the bartenders even though there were quite a few of them. Once we got the cake, it seemed to be a small slice for a dessert place compared to other places. The taste was just ok but I prefer Nonnah’s which is just nearby down the road. It also took us a few minutes to flag down someone to give us our check once we were done so service was a little spotty. One of the big pluses is that this place is the first spot in Columbia to serve wine on tap which is pretty cool. They have a few white and red wines that you can pick from. The ambience of the restaurant is nice with some cool dessert choices but it didn’t seem to live up the hype with the huge crowd that was there. The environment and feel of the place is definitely more lively than Nonnah’s but the desserts don’t match up as well.

There are some great reviews on this place, it’s why I personally went. The desserts were seriously boring and bland. I had a strawberry shortcake– it was dry and slathered with 2inch thick buttercream frosting rather than whipped cream. I mention the frosting because it’s a sign of cutting corners(saving money) on their ‘gormet’ cakes. Buttercream on strawberry shortcake practically ruins it. Really, the cakes are similar tasting to «Nonna’s» next door. Only thing is, Nonna’s has a better atmosphere. On a side note, the wait staff was spacey. We were told there was a 10 – 15 minute wait that turned into a 35 –40 min wait solely because the waitress(by her own admission) forgot to wipe down one of the several open tables. The table service wasn’t amazing either.

Über cool dessert and coffee house. Modern design in old brick building in popular warehouse district that is transforming rapidly. Had Hot Buttery Chocolate(with butterscotch schnapps) and Brownie Sundae. Licked it all clean!!!

Spectacular. The place is right next to, and actually connected to Pearlz. It has a really open feel to it — exposed beam ceiling, exposed brick, modern lighting and an overall good feel to it. Their third day open there was a ton of staff on hand — I imagine that will wind down as all the training and menu memorization happens. The very attentive staff made our trip a delight. Our waitress Maggie was very friendly and came by our table to ask how things were and if we needed anything else often. I had a beer — a Guinness they poured from a bottle into a glass which I generally do not prefer but it’s not a huge difference; I’m one who believes it already comes in a glass. My lady had their coffee/espresso drink — ‘a shot in the dark’ which was really delicious. The coffee was robust and flavorful and even though it’s 8 at night I find myself wanting another one. They only had their usual six desserts on their menu and a walk to the display case is required otherwise. It was kind of slow when I was there, but I imagine that becoming an issue when they are busier; maybe they just haven’t been printed yet. Anyway, this place is delightful. If you like Nonnah’s, you’ll like Kaminsky’s. Kaminsky’s is more modern, and polished. I’ve only been here once, but I have a feeling the service will be better too. Nonnah’s is more old school and has more variety but I have a feeling more people will end up on Kaminsky’s side of Gervais.
