Went by this afternoon but dining room was too hot for this middle aged lady to stay for dinner. We left… very disappointed!

This is obviously the worst place I have eaten at ever. They charge way WAY to much for what its worth. The price for the buffet with a drink is $ 18.40 on a Friday for: 1. Yucky slimmey noodles 2. No where close to being cooked meat 3. Food in your food that you do not want. A explanation of number three. If you don’t like onions but someone who had their food cooked before you like onions, odds are you’re going ti get onions in your meal. The meat is never and I mean EVER throughout cooked. And the way they cook their noodles. No matter how much sauce you out in your noodles, they will always come out dry or sticky like over cooked Ramen. I would not ever think of eating here ever again. It also smells rather weird. They do have a lot of drink selection but guess what. THEYCHARGEREFILLS!!!

We were familiar with the concept because in Atlanta we have the Real Chow Baby which is a make-it-yourself stir-fry. The only difference in that the Real Chow baby is a higher end restaurant. We’ve returned to hu hot lots of times because the food is good(if you assemble it right), the kids get free rice bowls and one of them eats free(under 4). And a reduced price for 4 – 10. So it’s a good deal for us right now. And my daughter likes to watch them cook. Now on to the negatives. On occasion the staff has been distant, but always nice. As far as the raw veggies go, the knife skills used to prep them are terrible. Imagine giving a cleaver to a 3 year old and asking them to dice peppers. For any restaurant, it just looks bad. Not to mention cooks unevenly. The sauces… the sauses USED to be great. Thick, bold, flavorful. Only a couple ladles were necessary. It’s clear that in the attempt to reduce cost, they REALLY thin down the sauces now. I literally used 10 scoops for a small bowl. I takes that much now if you hope to get any flavor out of your meal. Bottom line, we’ll still go, just know what you’re in for.

The whole create your own dish concept is unique to me but the small bowls that you use to put your items in is a pain. You pick from 3 types of noodles, then your meats like beef, chicken, pork, crab(looks like imitation crab meat), seafood melody, along with a few other not so Asian type meats like meatballs etc… Then you select a variety of different vegetables like zucchini, cabbage, carrots etc… The last station to choose from is the large selection of sauces from mild to super hot. Once all of this is stacked into that tiny bowl you along with all the other customers move to the central grill where 2 to 3 cooks take your tiny bowl of uncooked items and cook it on the open grill in from of you. This is time consuming. You along with all the other customers stand there waiting for your dish to be cooked. We came on a slow day so imagine on a crowded day this whole process will take a long long time. The food was ok. To be honest the Asian foods you get in the mall has more flavor. The sauces seem to be reduced to the point of almost being flavorless. I had the teriyaki and the Kahn favorite sauces mixed. The sauces provides all seasonings for the entire dish so keep that in mind. The atmosphere is nice and very spacious. Overall this is a ok place to grab a meal.

When we walked in, it was pretty much cleared out for a Saturday night. The waitress gave us a vague set of instructions for how it worked and we were left to figure it out on our own. The bar where you pick what you want looked pretty sloppy, and the way they cook the food doesn’t look the cleanest. Overall, the food was fine but the atmosphere is a little odd. We left thinking we should have gone to Chick Fil A. P. S: they yell out HUHOT at random times and scared us half to death!

I have very mixed feelings about this place. We have only been once since we were in town visiting some friends, so it could have been a fluke day. When we walked in, we had no idea what to expect. A server seated us, took our drink order, and then disappeared. We sort of just sat there for a bit since we didn’t know you go up to the station and whatknot. Once our guests joined us, they explained what happens and we went about our way. The good was decent; nothing to write home about. I felt like the meal was WAY more expensive than it should have been for the quality of food. I tried a few sauces, all of which were very salty to me. The soup I was delivered was luke warm at best and the salad didn’t look that great. Our server was great about refills once we got seated and their wasn’t a giant wait on the food, so those add a star. They do have a food allergy option which one of my friends needed and they definitely took care of her. My major complaint was the cost for the food. We live in Charleston, so we are fine paying for excellent food, and this just wasn’t excellent.

We did not have the same negative experience as some of the other reviews. The moment we walked we were greeted with smiles and hellos. Our server, Alisha, was spot on. The cooks were friendly and engaging. The selection of meats, veggies and sauces were more than I have ever seen on any other Mongolian buffet. Definitely look forward to another visit.

We love the food and that is what keeps us coming back, but the service is awful! The last 3 times we have visited the servers were never around when we needed something. My husband goes through his soda pretty fast and there were times we waited over 10 minutes to get more. This last visit we waited at least 10 minutes for the check. That is including the manager coming over to ask us how things were going. Not sure we will be back soon, which is sad because it’s a fun atmosphere and the food is great.

Very mediocre. Our server and both men tending the grill were friendly. That’s where the positive notes ended. There was standing water under the grill running into the walk way, we paid 12.99 per person for the«extended» line and soup or salad-which we were never offered and still trying to figure out what was extended about the line. Additionally the line needed attention even though the restaurant was maybe ¼ full, sauce caked all the way up the containers and vegetables not even half full. To top it off there were hard noodles clearly visible on the window ledge next to me. Overall we were so unimpressed with our entire experience and will not be back. Really wondering if there was a manager present at all, when we left there were probably 6 staff members just hanging around a booth gabbing loudly.

Food was so-so. They ran out of everything although it wasn’t crowded and never replenished the toppings area the entire time we dined. Also found other foods in my plate that i clearly did not choose but was obviously from the food cooking next to me which then brings me to the flavor… I don’t like mine hot but both dishes i got had red pepper flakes, also probably from my neighbors dish along with the green peppers and baby corn i wish would have stayed where it was meant to be. Wasn’t horrible but i wouldn’t return.

The food was good. That’s the only positive. They were out of plates. And bowls. And silverware. And rice. Seriously. The waitress was mostly inattentive. She only checked on us when we flagged her down and when it was time to pay. She kept talking about how busy it was. The restaurant was less than ¼ full. We will not be back.

Rude service and mediocre preparation of frozen low grade meat overshadows the variety of sauces and fresh vegetables. At the very least you can be polite to customers.

Used to be a nice place to eat. My most recent visit the place was empty at 3:30 in the afternoon. The hostess was sitting at a booth with another employee laughing and talking. A waiter needed to ask her to seat me. Several tables were needing to be bussed and the bar was disgusting. The food was all over the bar, mixed together to the point I didn’t want to set my bowl down in the filth. This restaurant lacks a capable management staff. Too bad. I will not be back.

This is a great idea and the bar set up was convenient. The people cooking on the grill were nice and speedy. I just didn’t like the shoneys style food buffet and cheap frozen meat that I had to some how compile into an edible stir fry. Frankly, I couldn’t tell the difference between some of the sauces and then I couldn’t tell which sauces were right for my combinations of meat/veggies. It tells you how to combine the sauces but I’m no chef, I would rather just order and have the expert combine it for me and prepare it fresh. In all fairness, the group I was with really enjoyed it and got heaping bowls of food to eat.

Almost 3 stars… our server forgot everything! The rice for the table, the apps came after my first plate, my Sake came out cold even though asked for warm and the bottle had grime in the bottom. This place needs restaurant rescue or something. I’m so sure there are underlying health hazards too… just look at how they cook the food! Disappointed :(

Meh. Can’t recommend for the price. Even a mediocre cook could make these things better(and way cheaper) at home. The cook was nice, but perhaps a bit too nice(forcing audience participation, making every small bowl of food a bit of a chore). The ingredient choices were a bit strange. Who wants beans in their stir fry? The broccoli could have been cut a quarter of the size… I liked it okay despite the tone of this review, but not for the price. My wife was less kind. This place seems like it might not be there in a year or two…

First, we waited for 20 minutes. You think, that’s not bad. They’re busy! We were waiting for tables to be cleaned. About ¼ of the tables didn’t have people at them. Went to the bar, 1st round tasted great. Second round, we had to wait for someone to come refill the sauces. They were out of 6 of them. Waited several minutes after we got their attention for someone to come restock them. Then, my second round was definitely overcooked. The meat ended up a bit like jerky. All in all, I wish there was a Ghengis Grill in Columbia.

Good vegetarian choice. Although meat is cooked on the same grill, but hey! It’s good and I joined their«Loyalty Club» and got a discount. The trick is the sauces. Mix & match. I like the garlic, soy sauce, sunflower seed and peanuts. Pretty pleased with the place over all. It is a bit pricey. Give it a try if you like stir fry.
