LAX tournament weekend. Looking forward to Maryland CrabCakes hit the spot. Our waitress Tammy was southern hospitality at its Best!

Absolutely horrible service, our reservation on a holiday weekend was completely screwed up. They not only do not take the customer into account at all. We reserved a room with two double beds for three nights only to arrive and be told they have one king bed for two nights. Now, on Saturday we have to wait for them to clean a room at their convenience not the customers. By the way the manager Jason never called to discuss it or apologize, very poor management. After a 7 hour ride he should of personally called to apologize.

Four nights here at the HGI in Columbia and it was a good stay. My room was clean and comfortable, the housekeeping staff did a good job of resetting it the one time that I took the DND off the door and it’s in a decent location. The bed wasn’t the most supremely comfortable, but it got the job done with an extra power outlet on the nightstand for my phone! The work desk was also good with enough power for my laptop and other things. It’s surprising how much I carry with me that needs to be recharged! The desk chair left a lot to be desired and the room air conditioning was not silent though it was very cold. Bathroom clean. Room quiet from hallway and outside(I was on the fourth floor facing the front). The Keurig machine in the room was stocked okay. I never did turn on the television. The free wifi worked okay most of the time, slowing down in the usual evening hours. It was particularly bad on Wednesday and Thursday nights. Still, it was a good property and I can easily rate it as four stars. I’m a fan!

This place got okay reviews and I’ll agree that the rooms are clean but here’s what they DON’T TELLYOU! In the«slow» season, which includes FEBRUARY, MARCH, ANDAPRIL — they have less than 30% staff so that means that the restaurant(which means room service too!) is CLOSED from Sunday night through the next FRIDAY and that’s written NOWHERE. I stayed Saturday and Sunday night — Also, the breakfast is a MESS! Because they have less than 30% staff — the restaurant is screwed. On Saturday morning they had ONE waitress who was«over it» and there was no one to bus a table, no coffee, no place to sit that had been cleaned, no juice, no glasses, no one to ask for glasses, no napkins, no fresh items left, brown bananas, no explanation of how to pay for anything — just a sign warning you that if you want the stale pastries it will be $ 6.95 and if you want something from the cook, it’ll be $ 10.95 but you have to figure out how to get your order to him, and good luck even finding silverware. This was terrible service at it’s most. What a bunch of cheap bastards the management/corporate must be. Passing through the area on a road trip down to SC. This is right off 95 so right on our route! Loved staying here for the night! The price was right and my friend and I were happy to find a familiar brand name hotel that fit our needs. All of the staff was very helpful. The room was super clean and honestly nicer than I expected. We went down to the pool/jacuzzi to relax the driving hours away. We ended up having the whole pool area to ourselves which was nice. We were going to stay here again on our drive back up to MA, but we ended up not stopping on our way home and made the drive straight though. Totally would recommend this hotel!

Hotel room is typical HGI. The first time I stayed here, breakfast was OK. Second time, I had the worst omelet I have ever had. I think the regular chef wasn’t there. My omelet tasted as if had been scorched. It just tasted completely weird. Waitress asked me if it was any good. I told her I couldn’t figure out what I was wrong with it. I ate at McDonalds the next 2 days for breakfast. Ok, the worst part. The first time I stayed, room service was ok. The second stay, I ordered a strip. Worst strip ever. It was literally refrigerator cold. It seemed obvious it had been taken out if refrigerator and barely warmed. Mac and cheese was gooey and just tasted like one big carb. They had no tea so I went to McDonalds and got tea. Honestly this was the worst room service I have had in traveling for 20 years. Breakfast was just awful. The room Was 3 stars. The food was one star.

I hope this review makes it to Unilocal, because the internet here at the Hilton Garden Inn is horrific. I really like the hotel otherwise: convenient location, amazing restaurant next door(Victoria Gastropub), reasonable rate, nice staff, comfortable, clean, cozy. I called the front desk and was told that it’s a consistent problem here and they don’t really have control over it. He apologized and said he’s notified the help desk(not sure how that works), but considering I’m staying on business, this is an epic fail. Obviously, there is some connectivity, but it’s reminiscent of dial-up speeds. The bandwidth isn’t sufficient for me to connect to my work server to get stuff done while I’m stuck out here away from family. Unacceptable and terribly disappointing. I thought for sure I’d found a perfect hotel for my Baltimore/DC travel, but not if I can’t get work done.

Stayed here several times and it never disappoints. Clean comfortable rooms and a friendly staff. The workout room leaves something to be desired. The breakfast was very good and relaxing but the guy who was cooking could use some help. Overall I was very happy with my stay.

I would totally stay here again if I was in the area, which I hope I am because I liked the area/location a lot. This is a great place to stay if visiting Baltimore as it’s only about a 10 min drive on 95. Surrounded within 5 minutes of literally every single food chain and any shopping you could possibly need. The staff at the hotel is very nice and friendly. The hotel looks good, the outside looks very modern and new, the inside is clean and decorated nicely(although a little tacky)… The room was a good size, the bathroom spotless and they have wonderful Neutrogena products for washing. The bed was awesome, almost like a sleep number where you can change the firmness with a knob. King sized bed was huge, the bedding was very clean and the alarm clock/radio/mp3 player was very fancy. The AC worked well — a little too well — don’t forget to turn it down or off before you leave because you will come back to a freezer! I did not get a chance to use the pool or gym but both looked in decent, if not good, shape. The wifi was a little spotty in many spots of the room, but still workable. The breakfast in the lobby is not complimentary, or at least the yogurts & muffins weren’t.

Not a bad hotel… and not a great hotel either. I would have expected a lot better for the area. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast cook and breakfast were excellent. It feels like an older hotel, with some updated equipment… ie. LCDTV’s. I think these are in the suites only though. The gym was pretty bad and consisted of two treadmills and a bike, with broken TV’s.
