Great place! My third or fourth visit, never been disappointed. The food is fresh, tastes great. Service quick and efficient. I had the AK-47 and my wife has the Thai sexy girl roll. Course we shared and both were excellent. We also shared an order of the rock island shrimp appetizer. I’ll keep going back.

Good sushi, horrible service and it’s always like this. Placed to go order. Said ready in 15 min, showed up exactly 15 min later and both employees sitting down, no one in restaurant, and had not even started on my food. For as expensive as it is, I can, and sure will find somewhere else, even if I have to drive a bit further to get it!

«Roll lunch was above average,» says food snob who ate with me and myself at lunch today. Good atmosphere, clean, friendly. All three of us will come back.

It wasn’t great, but I have had worse. I came here hoping that Fujiyama was as good as the reviews said it was; I was very dissatisfied. The salad was good. Crisp, fresh lettuce with a nice ginger dressing. The miso soup tasted wonderful, however the lack of seaweed and tofu was disappointing. The chicken, unfortunately, did not live up to its reputation. It was very dry and also very chewy. The sauce didn’t taste like it has been cooked into the chicken; it was more like they had thrown it in last minute. It didn’t help that the rice tasted dry. I’ve honestly had better hibachi at a mall food court. Fortunately, service was decent. The lady who served me was kind and prompt. She kept my glass full of Coke and came to check on me frequently. Overall I wouldn’t recommend this place as my first choice for hibachi, especially for the price, but I would come again if someone were paying for me.

The food is sick! Don’t eat here! They don’t care if you like the food or not! The main guy that takes your order is a jerk! And we left all our food and the guy didn’t take nothing off our bill! Save your money and go to a good Japanese place!

Columbia’s hidden treasure :) AMAZING food! They’re super fast so its great for a short lunch break or for pick up/to go orders. The fried rice is perfect every time, along with the sushi & hibachi everything, the salad dressing, and the clear soup! haha highly recommended!

I never liked sushi before. I have been to some fine sushi places with a brother that lives out West. I never thought about going in here but when I finally did I fell in LOVE. The inside is so relaxing amd quaint. I love the crunchy crab roll, and shrimp tempura roll. I still refuse to eat raw sushi lol but the thing I never could like was the seaweed but here I love it. The hibachi dinners are also very, very DELISH!

I had my birthday dinner here tonight. This is always one of my favorite restaurants. I’ve never had anything bad or disappointing here. Tonight I had the gyoza soup, vegetable tempura, and the pepper tuna sashimi. It was perfect. My kids got hibachi: chicken, and pork. My husband had cucumber rolls. They have a wide variety of food here. It isn’t just hibachi and sushi. They have hotpot and a wide variety of other Japanese food. It’s a quiet restaurant that always delivers on quality.

Great hibachi lunch! This is one of our frequent lunch spots. The relaxing atmosphere is a nice break in the middle of the work day. The service is great and our waitress is always nice. My favorite entrée is the Hibachi filet. It comes with a salad with ginger dressing, soup, fried rice, vegetables, and the most amazing sauce. I love it so much it is difficult for me to order other things but I manage to sometimes. I’ve also had the hibachi chicken, the bento box, and many of their sushi rolls. Everything is always very good. The only suggestion I would have is a little less ginger dressing on the salad.

The place looked nice and clean. There were 6 of us plus 2 babes. It took us a long time to order because 5 of us do not eat sushi often. 4 still didn’t because they got some kind of hot entrees with noodles and Gen Tso’s. I got salmon/avocado roll. I have had better, but it was still good. I also had the sashimi. I liked the texture of the steamed dumpling, but it needed more flavor. I tried the green tea ice cream and was shocked by the flavor. It took me a while to figure it out, but as I ate it reminded me of cloves and believe it or not a weed brownie without the chocolate. I’m not sure I would order it again, but it was interesting to try and was not bad, I jut like sweets and this was not real sweet. Service was very good. They will take care of anything you could expect. Bathroom was nice and clean too. I like clean.

While visiting my cousin, her husband and their newborn, they mentioned a Japanese restaurant nearby that was really good. I was instantly curious! So, we all came for dinner(baby’s first restaurant adventure!) one evening, and it was very good. Portions are huge! The tonkatsu and shrimp tempura were tasty and cooked perfectly. My seafood udon was huge with lots and lots of seafood. I barely made a dent in it before getting very full, but I completely enjoyed it. Service was nice and friendly.

My wife and l and several friends generally eat here at least once a week. It is far better than most of the others in mid TN and is certainly more affordable than them. The food is excellent, service exceptional and convenience miraculous.

Ate here the other nite. I had the Russ roll and my son had the Garzilla and Dynomite roll. The best sushi in town. The hibachi chicken was perfect as always. And one can’t forget an appetizer of Gyoza. The best Japanese restaurant in the area.

I have lived from the West Coast to the East Coast and have eaten at some of the best Sushi restaurants in the country. I was pleasantly surprised when my family and I ate at Fujiyama. The salmon sushi(my favorite) is excellent! All of their fish is very fresh and they are consistent in their quality. Their Tempura’s are also very good. I am so happy that there is a good Sushi restaurant in Columbia. I hope more people become aware of this nice place. Olivia S.

I first went with two coworkers – neither of which are adventurous eaters, and both wanted to go to(different)(lame) chains. So, based in the review above, I took a risk and begged them to try it… and we actually all left happy. I’ve since recommended it to others, and everyone has been impressed. This is by far my fav restaurant in Columbia. The menu had enough conservative options that folks intimidated by «foreign» food could find options they enjoyed, and also Japanese enough that I could enjoy it myself. I think its the best Columbia has to offer. It is sketch from the outside, but, just poke your head in and you’ll be impressed.

Most of you would probably drive by this place and not even think about stopping. Probably for the same reasons I did many times. For one it’s in a strip mall next to a CiCi’s pizza and Kroger. Secondly it’s in Columbia and how good can Japanese food in Columbia be right? Well it’s flipping fantastic. It’s better than any Japanese food I’ve had in Nashville. When you step inside you forget you are in a strip mall. The bamboo floors and other first class appointments to the interior really set it apart from the normal hibachi places in Nashville. Now they didn’t have the money to lease a place large enough to have hibachi tables, and so they do have to make it in the back and bring it to your table. I know many people go for the atmosphere and I admit I was bummed at first also, but once I got the food and took a bite I was sold. Most hibachi places overcook the Chicken, but this place does it just right. The steak is always tender and cooked to the temp ordered. I have never had to even consider sending something back. For appetizers I recommend the Negimaki. It’s tender strips of beef wrapped around scallions(green onions) with a teriyaki sauce, and just simply amazing. I’ve never had a bad Hibachi or Tempura dish there, and the sushi is great as well. The Sushi chef is Aidan and he, like most, has his own sushi roll which is great. I also recommend the deep fried sushi rolls, this is the South after all. :-) I’ve never had room for desert, but it’s probably good as well. They also have a nice selection of sake and imported beer. The wait staff is always attentive and personable as well.
