fricke hardware is a really convenient hardware store for folks in the columbia/​wrightsville area who don’t want to travel all the way to east york or central lanc for the chain hardware stores. they have all your standard hardware store stuff — paint, electrical supplies, grills, ACs, shop vacs, outdoor furniture, and home improvement rental supplies. their prices for rentals and all other items seem to be slightly on the high side but still somewhat competitive, and for the added convenience of not having to run somewhere i’m all for it.
one very nice feature is that they are 7 days a week! the night that my husband and i went in here we were helped by a very nice gentlemen. despite being 5 minutes to closing he was very nice and answered all of our questions. we will definitely be back!

During the recent flooding, Fricke’s made a real effort to help those who needed pumps. When another local hardware store posted an emil that they had sump pumps in stock, it turned out to be untrue. They said they had some coming in but would not add my name to a lost or agree to call me when they came in. I stopped there over my lunch hour only to find they had already sold the last one. I went to Fricke’s and they were driving to their distributor in VA to pick some up. They agreed to call me when they came in; stayed open later than normal, and followed through on their promise. They didn’t even charge more than they would have outside the emergency. Great job and knowledgeable service!
