I was very hesitant about taking classes here but considering the fact that there are no other places that do adult classes I took the chance after being scared of the reviews. I must say I have had no issues what so ever on the instructor, gym, or classes. The gym is now at a new location in which it has expanded. The adult class instructor is Taylor and he is very talented, spends a great amount of time training and working with each individual. There is a toddler class and a 7 – 8 year old class that happens as the same time as the adult class in which I was able to tell that the toddler instructor is very passionate and loving towards the toddlers. She is absolutely amazing with them and if I had kids I would definitely place them in her class. I haven’t paid too much attention to the 7 – 8 year old class but it seems as if the kids are very good at gymnastics so the instructor must be doing something right. For the adult’s class it is my first time ever as an adult going gymnastics and I will say that I have accomplished and learned a lot from Taylor and will continue to do my classes there.

My daughter’s ages 7 and 9 have both gone here for gymnastics lessons the past few years and they love it. They have gone to some of the other area gyms but like it here best and their gymnastics abilities have improved dramatically. The instructors are direct and challenge the kids, but they’ve always been kind. The girls have gone to their summer camp and like that too, they say it’s one of their favorites. The gym itself is a little worn, but not worse than most of the others around.

Not many great things to say about this gym, unfortunately. One of the instructors was my daughter’s high school cheer coach and private tumbling instructor. He’s a Narcissist(always dressed in tight jeans and hair gelled up in spikes) and borderline racist. He made several comments to the mostly black girl’s squad that I found very offensive when I heard about it later. I would walk into my daughter’s private lessons and he didn’t seem to be doing anything other than talking on the phone or people around him. Total waste of $$. Anyway, the other acrobatics instructor seemed good and her students were doing well in their floor exercises. Too bad that the other coach totally mars this place’s reputation. They have a really BAD rep in the local all star cheer community and almost never win anything at the competitions. They never make it to the national level because their best kids end up leaving and going to other teams.

My son went to Emilia’s for gymnastics as an activity, not for competing. I have no complaints about the gymnastics. However, the cheerleading coach, Yuri Kostovetskiy, convinced him to join the cheerleading team(Unique Allstars). This is his second season with the team. Yuri’s method of coaching is by yelling, demeaning, and insulting his athletes. I had hoped that doing cheer would improve my sons self esteem, instead the opposite occurred. At a practice this week I listening to Yuri yelling at my sons team for the entire practice. I lost count on the number of times that he called them stupid. After the practice I told my son that I no longer wanted him at the gym with Yuri. There was a meet on Saturday that he convinced me to let him attend, because he did not want to disappoint his team members and their families. After he competed on Sunday, I took him and left. Word got around that he was not coming back and that evening his team mom texted me and I did not respond, mostly because I was busy and really had nothing to say. So she texted my son and told him that he was disrespectful for quitting and not telling Yuri. WOW
