The service was slow, we were never asked of we wanted a refilled. And when the food arrived it was cold.

We went here based on one of our parties recommendation. However, that recommendation was based on one visit, one appetizer and one drink. Their were four of us and we were the ONLY people in the dinning area of this very large place. It seems to be divided up into three sections, dinning, the bar and some kind of game room/​dance floor area. The Monday night we were there, some sort of card or board game was going on. It was a little weird.
The décor seems new, like the place got a face lift recently. Unfortunately, the low wood walls blocking off the dinning area are still VERY fresh as of this review and absolutely reek of whatever stain or varnish they put on them. We had to move to the other side of the dinning area to get away from the smell. It was better but the smell still lingered. On the up side the paint is fresh and the carpet appears new.
As far as the food goes, for two of us, the food was just okay. For the other two, it was inedible. We didn’t bother sending it back because we would have been there for three hours instead of two. Three of us had pretty standard Mexican dishes you can get at any place with Mexican food and one had an Ecuadorian dish, which is not as easy to find. None of them were great. None of us took home any leftovers and more then one of us had more then ½ a meal left. The only food that we liked was the fresh chips and what appeared to be homemade salsa.
Ah, then we come to the service. I can tell you that we were the ONLY people in the place eating on a Monday evening at 6 pm. There were about 5 people at the bar and about 15 – 20 around the game table in the back. This place is pretty big and they had ONE, yes, ONLY ONE person on the floor the entire almost 2 hours it took us to get in and get out. It took almost 20 minutes to get all our food due in part to a kitchen mix up. But still, he brought out half the food, left, came back 10 minutes later and THEN told us there was a kitchen mix up. He also seemed not to be able to carry more than two plates at a time, like they didn’t have serving trays or something. We kept putting our empty plates on the table next to us because he would bring us more plates but not take away the empties.
I felt bad for him at some points but then when he was just chatting up the people at the bar instead of coming back to pick up our tabs I would get mad. We seriously thought about walking out but that is not something Unilocalers EVER do, and we aren’t those kind of people anyway. But when you have to chase your server down to pay, after waiting nearly 30 minutes just to get the check after asking for it, you get frustrated. Put all this together with his inability to multitask (drop something off at the table and take away an empty plate is serving 101) and it all made for a very unsatisfactory evening.

Pretty good Ecuadorian food. I’m assuming the Mexican food is just as good. Will definitely be going back to see if I’m right. Delicious!
