Whistle Stop Cafe

the previous person must have had an awful experience, but i have been here on more than one ocassion and the food is good enough. Not perfect, but i would pay the price they are asking for it. I love the quirkyness of this place.

The Good:
: it’s a local business
: it’s a mom-​and-​pop operation

The Bad:
: the décor… the counter for checkout is in the middle of the business. you enter and you see little tables i guess for people to enjoy coffee? then you see the counter and think: i can’t go past this point since it’s the counter. nope. the tables for the restaurant are in the back. wut? also, it’s just a hodgepodge of dated furniture, no charm in the décor.
: not that crowded at all, which was kind of a red flag to me. i should have gone with my gut. however, this led to…
The Ugly:
: the food. it’s all a huge huge miss. lukewarm coffee is gross and inexcusable. my first bite into my lukewarm scrambled eggs included the unexpected greeting of eggshell. the lukewarm biscuit covered in gravy was absolutely disgusting… the biscuit was just a huge undercooked, mushy mess. crumbly dough at best. the only thing that was edible was the sausage gravy that covered it.
Would I go back? Most certainly, most definitely not. Unless they replace the person cooking the food that comes to my table, you won’t find me within 20 feet of this place.
