While I wish I could say that my visits have gone without a hitch at this location I reluctantly have to say otherwise. I have visited this location a total of 3 different times now. They have varied from a great visit to one where I could have done without ever coming back. My first visit was fantastic. The staff was well prepared and the food was just right. My wings came out fresh, and my beer was cold. My second visit I went with my family and my sons hamburger was prepared incorrectly, his fries were cold, as were my wings. This situation was handled very well by the manager on duty who went and prepared my son a brand new meal himself. My third visit I purchased a bulk order of wings. There was a specific request for wing type and sauce. Unfortunately the wing type was made with the wrong sauce and there was an upcharge to make sure the wing type was correct. I would have figured that with a 100 wing purchase they would have just used«flats» from out of the 100 wings, but nope they felt the need to upcharge me for my own wings. Then my waitress tried to charge me for ranch dressing. Needless to say I am still a Wings Etc fan, but not a fan of some of the goings on of this location. I understand that this location is relatively new, and that is primarily the main reason I will give them another chance.

I’ll preface this by saying that Wings Etc ranks among my favorite casual restaurants in the area. More precisely: any Wings Etc except this location. I can’t definitively say if its because they are inexperienced, but the only recommendation I can possibly approve is to stay away until they’ve gotten their footing. The first thing any visitor is guaranteed to notice is the obscenely long wait time for a table. This is such a common occurrence here that I’m not even going to hedge that statement by adding«on most nights» or «usually». The average wait time I experienced during a late dinner ranges from 15 minutes to an excruciating 50 minutes one ill-fated trip. Of course, we can’t blame Wings Etc for being popular. It is a new restaurant in a city marked by an extreme deficit in pre-existing establishments. Yet, I can still find fault in how they handle the situation. With only a single bench in the freezing-cold entranceway to act as overflow seating, many people who wait for a table are forced to stand awkwardly around the hostess podium, constantly in the way of waitresses trying to deliver beverages. And yet, the handful of times I have stood there waiting, we would look upon the dining room and see no less than 2 open tables for the whole duration. Are they reserved in the event Kanye shows up and demands immediate seating? We can only guess. Fortunately, you’ll eventually get a table. Unfortunately, the waiting doesn’t seem to end there. Other area Wings Etc locations claim some of the best service I’ve had at a restaurant in this class. Yet, during one trip, we saw wait times of fifteen to twenty minutes on simple alcoholic drinks. An appetizer order took upward of forty minutes. We joked that it was beginning to look like our Mozzarella Sticks would arrive alongside the wing order we had placed twenty minutes ago. Unbelievably, this didn’t happen, as the wings took an additional twenty minutes beyond the appetizers. Given that this is something of a chain restaurant and the recipes and supplies are practically formulaic, the one thing they shouldn’t be able to screw up is the food itself. And, truly, you can reasonably expect the food to be as good as any Wings Etc location: That is to say, worth every dollar. This held true on most trips, yet during one trip my entire table agreed that the sauces tasted«off», as if they had shared cookware between our sauces and some other sauce with an entirely different citrusy flavor. Quite honestly, I kind of liked it. But obviously I can’t list it as a strength of the restaurant as I’ve eaten enough Wings Etc to know it wasn’t normal. I will take a short aside to grade their alcohol selection as excellent, and the one thing which saves this review from one star. The draft selection is superb, and you’ve got the option of a 101oz tanker to share among your table(or not). Most of the well drinks are well mixed, though I got at least one complaint about a poorly made Long Island. The main downside for a patron interested only in the bar would be how attractive the restaurant is to families with children; the open-air floor plan means it won’t be quiet. You could do a lot worse in the Columbia City area. In summary, don’t let the quality of this franchise tarnish your opinion about all Wings Etc locations. Check out the one on Dupont Road for the gold standard. The fortunate thing is that all the aspects which this outlet lacks are likely due to their extreme inexperience and the extreme novelty of the restaurant. This will improve over time, and I will definitely revisit this review as the years roll on and things(hopefully) improve.

The week that Wings Etc. opened, we went to dinner with another couple. The service was good in the midst of all the confusion and we were treated very nicely. The food, which we got wings and ribs, were not very good at all. I’m positive I would never order them again but I’ve been assured by other friends that there are other items on the menu that I would probably prefer. Will give it another try, we did enjoy the atmosphere.

Wings needs a life jacket. Swimming in sauce. On a plus the beer is coldest in town. Great server. But for the wings being fresh they were luke warm. Would go back for beer but would drive to Warsaw bdubs if I wanted wings.

My mom grew up in Columbia City and my grandparents lived there until their recent deaths. There isn’t much in town. Even chain restaurants are kind of sparse. Forget much in the way of bars. So when we were in town this week for my grandma’s funeral, I was actually glad to see a Wings Etc near our motel. Sure, it’s a chain. But it’s reliable and it has a bar with a decent selection of craft beer. I didn’t realize until we were there that Wings Etc just opened last week, which explains both the crowd and the service hiccups. Overall service was solid, but our waitress was a little unclear on some of the offerings and I’m still not sure how she rang up the beers, which all varied in price randomly and weren’t listed right on the receipt. The food was pretty good, we got nachos(good grilled chicken, a little too much lettuce), I got fried pickle spears and my husband got a buffalo chicken sandwich(I snagged a few fries). It’s bar food, but it was tasty. A bit of new-restaurant confusion aside, it was overall positive. Thanks for being, Wings Etc.

This place is great! Not only do they have a great variety of sauces for their wings but they also have a variety of of other items to choose from. I went with the Spicey Asian flavor on my wings and it had a good flavor with just enough heat. I was there for lunch so I didn’t have any beer but they had a wide variety of choices that I look forward to sampling in the future.
