I would give no stars if I could. The lease bans Marijuana from the property, and my upstairs neighbors have a very lucrative business of selling drugs to Doherty High School students, other residents, and sketchy people. When they smoke, it comes through the vents and makes our apartment stink. There is inadequate parking and insufficient lighting, so it will be a nice dark walk in the middle of the night to your building. My grandparents have been threatened by the wife-beater next-door neighbor. I have called the police a multitude of times for the drugs and domestic disturbances, and the police told me Management holds most of the power to intervene. Management is as incompetent as they come. They claim there’s «nothing they can do,» and above all, recommended that the upstairs drug dealers make edibles with their weed(still in violation of the lease) so we don’t smell it as much. Awful. Unprofessional and awful. Save your money. It’s hugely overpriced.

Since posting this review my husband and I have maintained our residence at the Retreat at Austin Bluffs. Our lease is up in August and we WILL be leaving then, if not sooner. Our vehicles have been broken into a total or three times, one time resulting in one of my windows being bashed in. I complained to the office, again, and was AGAIN told there is nothing they can do about it. They admitted themselves there isn’t enough parking for their tenants, they don’t have security cameras anywhere on the property besides the entrance to their office, in the office/gym and the mail room. They don’t even have adequate lighting around the property. Knowing that I occasionally have to park in the other end of the property from my apartment and walk at 11pm, or later, alone, while there are people breaking into vehicles isn’t very safe. They have a «security» company that patrols but in my nearly 3 and a half years I have seen them exactly TWICE. I know I am not the only person to voice these safety concerns. But instead of being concerned for their tenant’s safety and spending the money from all the rent increases on security/lighting, they have decided the property needs some landscape work done, namely new rock placed all around … I know that’s a HUGE concern for me, you know, that the rocks look good. Between the 3 vehicle break ins, the $ 296 to replace my bashed in window, the man who walked up to our THIRDSTORY apartment locked door and attempted to open it, push on it and talk into it … my husband and I do not feel safe, and neither should any of the other current or future tenants. While WE take measures to protect ourselves and our temporary home, I feel that it is also the responsibility of the management company to ensure the safety of everyone they move into their property. If things continue, they could be looking at a potential lawsuit if someone is injured because they won’t take measures to protect you and your safety.
