Three stars because they had what I needed and couldn’t find elsewhere. Imust say though that the customer service here is severely lacking. I’ve been in three times and get little more than a look up from the table in the back that the staff are sitting around. The Peak location in woodland park is much better.(5stars) There is an older gentleman out there that really enjoys talking with customers and sharing his knowledge. There are also other locally owned options around town.

What a great time my son, Trevor, had on a guided full day trip with guide, Matt, yesterday!

When you are from out of town, most fly shops are helpful, give general advice, and help you with an approximate steer in the right direction. I walked through the door at The Peak and got 75min worth of advice, counsel, and support. Remarkable. The shop is well put together and clean. The staff seemed to treat the store more like a welcoming town pub rather than a business simply trying to sell you their wares. Prices are about typical, if not slightly higher … but I do have limited exposure to shops outside of the Pacific Northwest. I really enjoyed my time there and feel that this fly shop is a standout in the area. I’ll be giving them more of my business.

Until I just moved to Lakewood, this has been my favorite fly shop. Their location in Woodland Park is slightly smaller, but still excellent, meeting the needs of an angler heading to the stream. They use the equipment they sell, and are excellent sources of information. Locally owned and run, the will take care of any of your fly fishing needs, from beginner to advanced. They also have an excellent selection of equipment which will meet the needs of female anglers. They also have my favorite stash of discount flies in an interesting variety which I seemed to be addicted to. They also have an excellent variety, along with the current stream news to help you be successful on your trip. Though I haven’t personally been on one of their guided trips, I’ve never heard a complaint, only compliments. If you want to learn more about fly fishing, need a new rod or reel, or just need some tippet, a leader and a few flies, visit Brad at Peak Fly Shop.

This is a great shop. Every time I go in the staff is very helpful and answers all of my questions fully. Ive taken the beginners class with them and plan on taking the fly tying class here soon and also doing some guided trips. The shop has moved to 5632 North Academy Blvd. which is just about right across the street from the old location. The new shop is very cool. They also have a location in woodland park that I visit on my way to the South Platte.
