Kahlua Chocolate cake! That is all! It’s the best chocolate cake over ever had. It’s always perfectly moist.

The breakfast sandwich from here is so delectable with their toasted sourdough bread, fried egg, cheddar, a hefty portion of bacon and jalapeño jam. I crave you breakfast sandwich, and you are my my favorite one in town. I was taking my sandwich to-go, otherwise I would have stayed a little and taken part in the Adult Coloring Station.

Love, love, love these guys. I’m really picky about my bread, but they’ve won my heart & fill our family’s bellies every week. The sandwich bread has no preservatives or creepy ingredients, taste & texture are amazing, and it’s only $ 2 a loaf. You can’t ask for better than that. The garlic sourdough is out of this world, too, as is the marbled rye. Great baguettes. Actually, the only time I had something that was less than awesome was a butter croissant in the late afternoon, which I assume had been set out that morning. Still tasty, just a little tough, as you’d expect. I do wish some of their once-weekly breads were daily, but I appreciate that everything’s made fresh, & that they value quality over quantity. There are times when I’ve waited in line longer than I wanted, it’s true, but I could see the staff was providing excellent service to the people in front of me, and they do the same when it’s my turn. Unless you go at a mealtime, there’s rarely a line anyway, in my experience. I’ve sometimes hesitated to tell people about these guys because I want all the bread for myself(mwah ha ha) but I was stunned to see they didn’t win Best Of in the recent citywide awards. These guys really deserve some recognition; as far as I’m concerned, they’re the best in Colorado. Bottom line, if you love fresh bread, you’re going to fall head over heels in love with the OSB. Check ‘em out. Don’t buy the last garlic sourdough, it’s mine mine mine!

My expectations were too high. Granted it was Saturday and we were in a hurry, but with only 1 couple in front of us we waited over 5 minutes to order. Then, the additional 10 – 15 to get our food. Makes sense. But then, the gal rang our order up incorrectly, so we took the wrong food to go. Wish I had a better experience with the wait staff, but the Gorilla Bread I ordered and inhaled will have me coming back to try again.

When visiting Colorado Springs this bakery might be a little off the visiting tour track but it is well worth visiting. Cinnamon rolls are the old fashioned bakery rolls and I believe one could feed a family of four and no one would go away hungry. Can’t wait to get my loaf of raisin bread home to share. Will definitely go back the next time I visit CS.

We went to The Old School Bakery one morning hoping to snag a last minute cake for a dear friend’s birthday dinner. Despite our procrastination, the baker we spoke to said she would do her best to have a nice cake ready to go within about four hours. She asked if we wanted any decorations and we told her our friend is girly and likes purple. When we returned, we were pleasantly surprised at the cake: it looked great! They piped purple shoes along the sides and girl-ified the cake to the fullest. It had an «old school» feel to it, which probably wasn’t intentional, but it made us happy. On our way out, we grabbed some baguettes. My only gripe about this bakery is that I’ve noticed that once the weather gets warmer, flies flock to Ivywild like crazy and it’s got to be hard to keep them away from the baked goods set out in the open. That aside, I always find myself stopping by and perusing the goodies whenever I’m at Ivywild.

Stellar! Everything we tried was phenomenal — from the french bread and coffee cake, to the gorilla bread, spinach/feta croissants, almond cookies and white chocolate cookies. The Black Forest cherry pie was hands-down, the best cherry pie I’ve ever had, and the cupcakes were surprisingly light and delicious. It was hard not to order more than we did — this place is awesome. I highly recommend. We’ll be back :)

Absolutely adore the breads from this bakery. I get baguettes to make meatball subs with at home. Love that it’s GMO and preservative free-I can’t find that anywhere else. I love sourdough normally but I find the sourdough a little weak. I wish it had more flavor. But otherwise, DELICIOUS! Definitely recommend showing up right when the bread comes out of the oven.

This is a local bakery that uses the finest ingredients. Offers 50% off bread every other day. Has a punch card for bread buyers. Makes delicious pastries, fresh bread, desserts, etc. Just love it Pairs perfectly with The Meat Locker and The Principals Office all located in the same building. They have great prices and I think it is nice to go buy your loaf of bread from a local bakery than Wal-Mart where I know where, when, and how it was made. The cinnamon raisin bread made on Sundays is perfect for French Toast… no syrup required unless your a sugar diehard. Haha. I don’t have much experience with bakeries as living in Colorado Springs is limited so I am sure if you are from New York City and you come here, it is feeble compared to what your giant city offers… which is why I only gave it four stars… but you will admit they do a great job! So in my heart they are 5 stars!
