I love this artist and the gallery is fun to go through. More like an old museum. It has been in this Colorado city location for quite a while. Could be a little updated as the building is a little older/funky.

This is a really cool place. The detail of the sculpting of the magic city is amazing. My favorite part of the museum is the scavenger hunt. It comes free with admission. The scavenger hunt makes you enjoy the art of the town because you are constantly looking for things on your list. Also the price is not bad at all. Kids under the age of 6 are free so being the little ones. But be warned they might get bored quickly. 6 – 12 year old are $ 3 and everyone else is $ 5. Today everyone was $ 3 so call ahead and see if they are having a deal

My Mother owns a Michael Garman piece. I’ve seen better but I get how people love nostalgia. This piece looks like an old cowboy sitting in an overstuffed chair with his hat and coat draped over the side and a can of «something» in his hand looking like he just rode his last roundup… My Aunt and Uncle from Colorado Springs gave this to my Father I believe… you think they were trying to tell him something?

Even if you’re not familiar with the sculptor’s name you’ve probably seen his work. Focusing on working class heroes like firefighters, working dads and the occasional tramp, his figurines have character and warmth, like there’s a story each one is waiting to share with you. He(or his publicist, anyway) calls it «Art for the People.» In a fairly nondescript building in Old Colorado City lies the unassuming Michael Garman museum. Inside are vignettes of American life brought to life with his work — all for sale and some of the prices are reasonable even for my budget. Touring the museum/shop is completely free and for a nominal few dollars you can visit«Magic Town,» a completely stylized landscape all around you that brings his figurines to life, accessible only to those with a little change in their pocket. It helps the museum keep it’s doors open and is worth the effort. Garman certainly has his own story, well before his success, that you can find out more about in-studio. I would recommend even if you’re from the Springs to check out this museum, it’s a hidden treasure on Colorado Ave.

I really like this studio! My husband & I come here on every visit to manitou! These miniatures & collectables are amazing! We try & get/collect all the firemen, policemen, & nursing miniatures. They are also great gifts to give people! Always looking for new ones. Unfortunately, they aren’t making anymore occupation miniatures. But the dedication mini for 9⁄11 is awesome! Also, check out magic town! So realistic! Amazing work!!!

Gallery? Don’t make me laugh this is the cheapest and ugliest art I’ve ever seen. All the figures are just copies of each other.
