This was the first time I have been to a really nice place to eat steak and I wasn’t disappointed. I had the ribeye steak and it was amazing but what was more amazing was the lobster tail but even more amazing was the waiter! It was a great atmosphere with live music! I definitely recommend it to all of the people in Colorado Springs and visitors!

Amazing. I got the seared ahi tuna and it was unreal. We tried the ribeye, lobster tail, and salmon. All incredible. Our waiter was so helpful and good looking. He is my idol. I appreciate him more than he will ever know I still like a Ruth’s Chris ribeye, but the tuna here was unreal

Enjoyed my first meal there yesterday with my wife and I must say the food and service were fantastic. My only complaint was my Ribeye had no marbling but was delicious none the less and cooked to perfection.

I’ve traveled the country from east cost bed and breakfast to small cliff café’s on the pacific coast highway. I like to indulge in fine dining when I can and I like to splurge. Everything about this place was five star from the leather booths, to the cool lighting, the low Frank Sinatra playing, and the best for last the food. I had lamb with creamed spinach and the wife had the chicken oscar with a baked potato. The bread they bring out with real butter is great and I had a wine flight and tried some new wines to my delight I found two of my new favorite wines. We had crème brûlée to finish everything off. This has to be the best restaurant I’ve ever been to. It was a bit pricy for the two of us we got out at around $ 140 but she also had a salad and a spite as well. If you are in town you should go eat here for a fancy great time

Great experience here. The bread they bring to the table is fantastic. I had the french onion soup to start– it was good and fresh. Not overly salted. The baby spinach salad was good as well. We shared the ribeye medium rare– it was cooked perfectly. We also got the loaded baked potato(which we could have skipped) and the sautéed spinach– which was to die for! Loved loved loved the spinach. The vibe is nice here– with a piano player in the background singing the requests of customers. Great experience. Lots of food.

Treated wife to dinner for Mother’s Day while on our road trip. Made reservations here before we left home through Open Table. Arrived about ten minutes early and they took us right in. Our waitress was very friendly and knew the menu well. Our drink order was taken and the meal followed shortly. Lively busy place with above average noise level. They had a special, but we wanted to order from the regular dinner menu. We both had s glass of house red Robert Mondavi, their Famous salad, the Berkshire pork shank is so by contrast, and split a baked potato. The sold was good, and the paso bucolic was to die for. It was falling off the bone tender with a jus and polenta and fresh spinach. Great meal! We classified it as our meal of the past ten days.

I’ve been here twice now. Once for a work lunch where I had a filet. And for dinner where I had the Osso Bucco pork shank just to try something out of the ordinary. They really know how to prepare their meats. Both were cooked exactly to order. The food is 5 stars but the high prices take that down a notch to 4 stars. They should charge a premium for their quality food, but their prices are beyond a premium.

The steak is good. I admit that. But not as good as the price tag. I prefer the Filet at Bonefish for half the price! Plus this restaurant is always noisy. Hard to have intimate dinner when you can’t hear each other!

The oysters are great, the 22oz ribeye and 10 Oz filet were on point. Much better than Mckenzies and Cowboy Star… Actually can’t even compare…

Have not had a better steak than what I Have had here. Particularly great with bleu cheese or oscar topping. Additionally, tried the salmon. Really great. The crab appetizer and shrimp cocktail are astonishingly delicious, and I am from Maine! Buddies adored the sushi design tuna steak. Sides are tasty. Setting relaxing and upscale. Bread is amazing. Can not say a bad word about the flavor, but expect to spend more cash than you need to!

Prime Beef but wet aged not dry. Mid $ 40’s most steaks. Oysters on the half shell and Oysters Rockefeller. Good service, Live piano nightly. Everything is ala cart so it tends to add up on the check. Sides are big enough to share. They have a charred applewood Wisconsin pork belly for $ 14 with a Cabernet Reduction that is terrific. Food portions tend to be large.

Simply amazing. The best steak we’ve ever had. PAYATTENTION to the staff when they tell you how big the sides are! One side serves at least two people. Yeah, the loaded baked potato was probably 2lbs. But it was so, sooo good.

I usually love this place but tonight is unlike the normal nights. The server forgot to give a crap and there’s nothing like olive oil and balsamic(for bread dipping) with little particles of something in it… yum. But my steak… fantastic as usual

Great atmosphere. Live music was awesome. Started with a Pickletini. Wow! What a great idea, nice and smooth with a slice of bacon and pickle. The steaks are really good, probably best in Colorado Springs.

I finally made it back for dinner. This place is great. Watch out for the cocktails, because they are not for the weak-kneed. If you haven’t had anything to eat, be sure and get some bread with the cocktail because their pours are pretty… pretty…pretty heavy. And the cocktails themselves are very good. They’ve raised the bar at the bar the cocktails are good. The real joy of the Famous is the food. These guys know meats. Whether it’s fish, chicken, shrimp, pork, or beef, they know how to prepare it. It’s always done well(it should never be well done unless it’s chicken) and always juicy. One of my personal favorites here are the shrimp cocktail because the shrimp is huge and the cocktail sauce is the best I’ve ever had. Another of my favorites is the Crispy Chicken Salad at lunch. The fried chicken on that salad is great. If you’re looking for a power lunch, power(happy) hour, or a powerful dinner, this is my at the top of my list. I’ve never been disappointed here.

If you’re lucky, you’ll visit The Famous when there is room to sit at the bar and the bartenders working are Luis or Craig. Those guys know how to craft a cocktail and they can talk about spirits for days. As someone who thinks most scotch tastes like old Band Aids, I got a quick primer one night and found myself actually tolerating some of the brands I sampled. with lots of ice. I didn’t expect to get such an awesome learning experience at a bar and the geek in me loved it. The bar menu is small but satisfying. Consider the pork belly slab. It’s charred and sits in a wine reduction with a stack of skinny onion rings rounding out the plate. I’m also a fan of sharing the sliders. The beef is so tender as the shoestring fries come in a massive, perfectly seasoned, heap. The bread is pretty memorable. Once, over lunch, I had some fresh from the oven and it was nearly life changing. My lunch companion asked for a loaf packed to go and they obliged. On other visits since then the bread has been just room temperature but it’s still great, especially if you’re a fan of rosemary. For what it’s worth, The Famous tends to be filled with an older, professional crowd: ladies with fancy handbags and men seeking sustenance after rounds of golf. I imagine it’s a good spot to find a cougar or sugar daddy.

This place is priced like Morton’s but does not provide the value. I have no problem paying for an expensive steak, but I expect the service, steak and accouterments be up to the price. For this kind of money I would rather go to Joseph’s or the Broadmoor Tavern. I will admit that a few people I know love this place, but they like to hang out at the bar and just eat appetizers – splitting them at that. I think they just like to be seen
