Very funny… I had a mixed experience last year and thought I would give them another chance… then I saw these reviews. I too was told to get a crown(despite no history of issues, no prior dentists saying his). This must be their biz model-get them in the door and then sell the crowns and other invasive stuff. I will be moving on.

After reading other Unilocal reviews of this dentistry office, I can’t help but notice a common theme– most everyone was recommended a root canal. Shocker! That’s exactly what was recommended to me. In fact, after personally examining the x-ray of my molar, my cavity looked within normal range for a crown. However the doctor told me that once he began drilling, if he deemed a root canal necessary, then he would perform one. I SHOULDHAVERANFORMYLIFEATTHISPOINT, but I didn’t. I was too naïve. Instead I insisted the root canal was not necessary, and reference the x-ray. At which point the doctor said often times decay is present but doesn’t actually show on the x-ray. I continued to resist the notion of a root canal at his disapproval. So now I’m stuck with a shitty crown that doesn’t fit my bite well, at all. If you’re like me and have a really good dental insurance– DONOTGOTOTHISDENTISTOFFICE. You can get much better service elsewhere. I wish I had checked their Unilocal reviews sooner.

I’ve been going to Prominent Point Dental for several years now, and I’ve always been very pleased with the staff and service. From the receptionists to the hygenists to the doctors, everyone is incredibly pleasant and welcoming. I feel that the dentists give me great care and keep me well informed on my oral hygiene, without ever trying to push costly treatments on me. Unfortunately not all other dental practices are like that. I would highly recommend Prominent Point to anyone in need of a new dentist.

First off, there are some public safety issues. Every time I’ve been there, there has been high stacks of boxes blocking the emergency exit. They broke one of my teeth and said I needed a root canal($ 1500) the dentist said that it was his fault and that he would fix it for free, but later he said to my face that I, his customer, was lying and that there is nothing he could do. I’d literally rather get a DIY root canal than go to this freak show! Got a second opinion and got it fixed at another dentist. No root canal necessary. Just a juvenile scam to get more money than deserved. He messed up my teeth and then tried to make me pay for his mistakes when he said he’d fix it for free because it was his problem! I had a few fillings done, as soon as the numbness died down my teeth tingled and felt sore. Like all my other fillings I’ve gotten done, I thought I would wake up the next day without tingling and everything would be alright. But that wasn’t the case. It was continuously hurting/tingling/burning for WEEKS. I went to a different dentist and they fixed the problem. When I have been expected to be at the office for 3+ hours the dentist LEAVESTHEROOM to assist other people. He spontaneously pauses through my procedures while my teeth are left all gnarly to go help someone else when I was booked first. He takes 30 minute pauses every hour or so, so I can have a «little break.» Yeah, right. I just want my teeth done so I can get out of this place. I tell him this, but he still leaves! The ladies at the front desk always seem clueless or the system sucks. The last two times I have been there they have said that the system doesn’t show we paid, when we did. Or that there was no history of earlier procedures that we got there, even though they’ve seen us there multiple times. Then they try to make me repeat a procedure that was already done. I feel like no one is properly trained, they are always asking other people for help. No one ever smiles at the front desk and they are always acting frustrated at me and shaking their heads. Really? You’re lucky I’m here, I’m the one giving you money for your paychecks. I have always had a discerning feeling about this place, my instincts are always right. Bottom line is, the dentists and staff give awful service. Everyone is rude. Just save your money and find a good place.

I chose this location based on location, is so conveniently close to my home I decided to give them a try. First time I visited the office was under an emergency. I needed a crown, during the installation of my new crown, the Dr. scratched and damaged a previous crown I already had. The new crown they did for me was oversized. A few months later I returned to the clinic complaining of sensitivity on my new crown. They told me I developed an infection and needed a root canal($ 500 more). I decided to go for a 2nd opinion, my new, awesome dentist found that my new crown was too high, therefore was receiving a lot of pressure from my lower tooth, causing inflamation on the nerve. My new dentist fixed the crown and prescribed some advil for the inflamation, and now my tooth is feeling great, no root canal! My new dr. took some new xrays and could not see any signs of infection. Since I visited Prominent Pt. Dental I always felt they were always trying different ways of getting more money out of me. I’m very happy I went for a second opinion, not did I only save $ 500 but most importantly I saved my tooth.
