This is the first time in the many years I’ve been writing Unilocal reviews that I’d like to give a business a negative star rating. **Bottom line: Pre-approved payment does not equal Doctor prescribed treatment.** My Sister was referred to Interim for 10 in home Physical Therapy appointments after being released from the Hospital after having a Brain Tumor removed. She called on Monday to open her case and was assigned a Physical Therapist(PT). Tuesday morning the PT called and set up an appointment for the same day, then called back a little later to say she would be about 20 minutes late, but actually arrived nearly 2 hours late, at which point she performed a 45 minute intake consisting of questions, no actual Physical Therapy. Before the PT left she scheduled an appt. for the following morning. Wednesday morning the PT called to say she couldn’t make the scheduled appt, and rescheduled for the afternoon, and once again arrived late. This is the only actual Physical Therapy my Sister was provided for the week, she was supposed to receive 3 Physical Therapy sessions this first week at home. At that time the PT scheduled an appt. for two days later, Friday morning. Friday morning the PT called to say she couldn’t make the morning appt. and rescheduled for 3pm. The PT texted at 2:30 to say that she couldn’t make it until between 4&5pm, which conflicted with other appts. that my Sister had planned. The PT then informed her that she would not be able to reschedule until the following Tuesday, 6 days after the first and only actual PT session. At this time, my Sister called Interim and spoke to the Manager, Tina. Tina seemed to be quite frustrated with my Sister reaching out to her on a Friday afternoon with the request for a PT who could actually provide the prescribed 3 per week Physical Therapy appointments. A PT who would actually arrive within a 20 or 30 minute window of the scheduled appointment, someone who would not call or text several times in the same day to postpone the appointment. Tina made it clear that it was so late in the afternoon and that it would be close to impossible to reassign my Sister’s case to another PT before the following Wednesday. Monday(now the second week after leaving the Hospital) Tina called and advised that she had a PT that could come later that afternoon, BUT, that this PT would not be able to return again for another 2 weeks. My Sister spent the next hour or so trying to work with Tina to find a solution, the result was an education about how Interim provides service, South to North. What this translates to is that if you live from Fountain to the Springs, you have a better chance of service, but if you live North of the Springs beware because most likely your appointments will not be consistent or take place at all. My Sister has progressed extremely well considering her skull was opened up for several hours, and a tumor was removed. She has been working very hard on her own and with her support team of Doctors, family and friends, with the goal of getting back to work as soon as possible. The one thing she really needs to do to accomplish this goal is her Physical Therapy, she needs to work on her balance and strength and we don’t have the training to really assist her in this area. Interim let us all down in a big way. I can’t imagine what happens to people who aren’t in as good shape as my Sister, or who don’t have the fortitude and support team to help her to assert her self and get the treatment she needs to heal. Interim needs to change it’s business practice in a big way, or simply make their service area smaller, but providing such shoddy services to people who are sick or injured is disgraceful.
