I’ve written 169 Unilocal reviews, and this is the second time I’ve given one star. I took my iPhone in for repair on a Friday morning. At the end of the work day, I received a call that it was ready for pick up. Turns out, they weren’t able to identify ANY problem with it. They directed me to an AT&T store. The kicker: I was still charged the $ 45 diagnostic fee in spite of the fact that no problem was actually diagnosed. I politely questioned this charge, but it was not reduced. This is a very poor business practice, and it permanantly drove me away from this business. It simply doesn’t make sense to charge for a diagnosis when you can’t diagnose. I understand the cost of labor, but it does not justify the full price of a diagnostic test when a problem isn’t identified. In my opinion, you should avoid this business and head straight to the Apple Store. The Apple Store resolved my issue immediately and charged a reasonable price. I’ve learned my lesson. iWon’t be going back to iMechanics. (Side note: The employees, including the tech and front desk worker, were very nice and I have no complaints against them. This one-star review is *entirely* targeted at the ridiculous business practice of charging customers when no diagnosis can be made.)

I never ended up getting work done here. When I called, I knew I had a technical question so I wanted to speak to a service person. Lady said she could help me. I explained the situation, and she gave me a hesitant answer. I asked for a concrete answer, and she said maybe, put me on hold and spoke with a serviceman. Every question I had went like this. Would have saved some time if I could just talk to the girl/guy who actually worked on phones. This service doesn’t deserve a 2 star, especially since they are so inexpensive($ 99 to get an iPhone 5 screen replaced). What got them such a low ranking is that they only had 1 serviceman, and he only worked a half day on MONDAY. Seems like this should be the day they hire an extra guy.

My iPhone was not charging. I went to Apple store on Briargate and of course they told me they can’t fix it and $ 265 to trade. Than I found this store on Unilocal.Thank you. Great Service and very friendly staff. She explained how much is going to cost and everything in advance and she also told me how long is going to take to repair it. No hidden cost, very straight forward and fast service and most importantly they fixed my iPhone. Thank you. Highly recommended.

We had an iPad that the previous owner broke the glass in and tried to repair herself and couldn’t get it to come back on. Jason at iMechanic was able to get the iPad back to life and operating for the $ 45 diagnostic fee. They were very friendly and patient while we tracked down information they needed to get the iPad setup.
