Peebles

I went to Peebles for the first time this week and was very disappointed. I will never go back again. I have never written a review about any store, so I am surprised at myself that I am even taking the time to write about my experience.
When I was in line to pay for my clothing, there were three ladies ahead of me. Diane was working the cashier (I only know that because I returned to ask her name). I stood in line for 30 minutes while Diane tried to sell older ladies FREE magazines and get their email and address for more advertising. She was so concerned about selling them other stuff besides the clothes she couldn’t even concentrate on her real job. I felt like she was totally taking advantage of these elderly women. No magazines are free. It is just a scam to get information and charge them later.
Anyway, the next day I returned because 3 items did not fit correctly. AGAIN, I stood in line for about 20 minutes listening to Diane trying to sell FREE magazines. I returned three items. When I got home, I looked at the receipt and noticed Diane only credited me for 2 items.
I had to return to the store AGAIN. Luckily, I did not get Diane but a manager. I told her the situation and she said, «oh yeah, I think I spoke with you on the phone.» I said, no not me. I asked her if this happens often where people return multiple items and they don’t get credit on all of them.
I noticed that Peebles is a place where older women shop and I got the impression that they are taking advantage of older people. I was pretty disgusted.
I will NEVER go to this store again. I can not believe the way Diane was so persistent in trying to get the ladies to purchase things besides clothes.

This is one of the wife’s favorite stores to shop at. She love the clothes here as she say’s she can’t find any where else, And the prices are great too. She takes the youngest granddaughter her and they have a ball shopping. The granddaughter likes all the sparkly clothes and loves to try everything on. So when the wife and her go I make sure I find some place to sit as it will be a long day there. But I will say you get the biggest bang for your buck here.
