Started off really bad. Who wants a waitress siting down and yawning in your face and telling you her medical problems, and family life . Never got a glass of water. Or salad before raw steak. Smallest sweet potato I have ever seen. Butter was gone looked like someone ate most of it before I even got it. NEVER going back there . For what you get for the price of things FORGET it ! They don’t deserve any stars. It gets worse, think you get the message.

Service was poor. Steak undercooked and just too darn expensive for the quality and service. Dont get me wrong. I will throw down 25+ for a steak. But I want it to melt in my mouth. I had not been in years so I decided to give it another try. Not a fan.
I ate here with my wife and lost all hope for this restaurant chain. The atmosphere was horrible. A bunch of people were in there as a group taking up 90% of the place yelling, cursing, and walking around abusing the staff and manager with nothing being said. I guess they figured smile and hope for a big tip, but that didn’t help my experience. The killer for me was the steak. You see it in the commercials and I’ve seen it at the restaurants since 1999, the big thick juicy steaks… well, not here. We both ordered the ribeye and it came out flat, thin, and grey. I was in shock. It’s like the place ran out of steaks and went to Walmart to restock. I talked to the manager but he said that was the right steak. We paid the check and left I will never go back to a Outback if this is what they’ve become now!

We rolled through the area right when they were closing. They not only kept the restaurant open, we had the BEST filet. Cooked perfectly. Staff(Justin G!!!) was SUPER accommodating… just an all around amazing experience.

Ordered my meal to go online. Portobello steak medium rare, and a half order of ahi tuna. I got 2 sweet potatoes… don’t know why I only ordered one. My side of broccoli was a bit too mushy so I trashed it; I really didn’t want it but there’s no option for«no second side». I got bread even though I clicked ‘no’. My steak my cooked well… was expecting more mushrooms and a bit more size of a steak for $ 13. It was the appetizer that pissed me off. The slaw was inedible… it tasted wooden and stale. And the portion that was in that box… laughable.

Was in the area visiting and stayed at a nearby hotel. Ordered curbside to go online and everything was perfect. I asked for items on the side and some items not on my salad and all was correct. My items were ready on time and warm when I got home. The online ordering was convenient and the service at curbside was on time and friendly.

We had dined here for dinner and it wasn’t anything fantastic. I’m not a fan of Outback in general… seem to always have a bad experience. My steak was well overcooked considering i ordered it medium. i had to have them send it back to get a different one. You literally couldnt cut the steak, thats how well done it was. The men seem to enjoy their meal, except my boyfriends mashed potatoes was a bit on the cold. At first, service was a little slow, and we knew why, it wasn’t the servers fault, it was the table next to us… complaining about everything that’s possible in order to get free food. We still tipped over 20% considering our server was friendly.

Awful service. I sat at bar and watched the bartender talk to other patrons and do bar chores for a good 5 minutes, i would’ve left but there isn’t much else around here. Finaly ordered a drink and dinner. Second bartender put in the order. Salad comes out… iceberg…grape tomatoes, croutons and one small piece of red onion. Bread & butter comes out and bread knife was greasy, like slathered in butter. Steak comes out rare, ordered MR, fries are soggy. I send back for new fries. While food is on way back to kitchen 2nd bartender asks if i wanted another drink, I declined. She then tells me she’ll get me my check… I explain food was sent back… back comes steak and hot fries. Steak is a bit overpowering with black pepper. Before I’m finished eating 2nd bartender drops the check and a says thanks for joining us… ok, I got the hint, I pay and leave and I can promise, I WILLNEVERBEBACKTOTHISORANYOTHEROUTBACK, EVER.

I was driving down I-95 and took the Colonial Heights exit to eat because I knew there were several restaurants close by. The service was inexcusable. Frankly, I got the feeling that it is one of those«locals only and no outsiders are welcome sort of places». You know rednecks, kluckers, and good-olé-boy type families… no offense to them… All Outbacks have the same floor plan. A hostess podium in front of the front door as you walk in, a bar area behind it, and seating areas to the left and right. I was seated on the right side at a table by the hostess. There were two waitresses/servers supporting that side. One waitress had long dark hair in a ponytail and the other had a blondish shoulder length bob style. In case local management, district management, or corporate management reads this review I want them to know which 2 waitresses/servers exhibited the rude and inexcusable behavior toward me. I sat at a table for over 25 minutes and neither waitress/server stopped to take a drink order or anything even though the right side of the restaurant was less than half full. Everyone on that side had even been served. Between the 2 waitresses/servers, they walked by me~ within 4 feet over a dozen times. Even when I said, «Hello» to them they still ignored me. About that time another couple finally came in and drink orders were taken in less than a minute. Still I was ignored. After about 28 minutes of waiting, I took my napkin and flatware to the hostess and told her the story, gave them to her, and told her I was going elsewhere. I assumed that Outback was like a Marriott or McDonald’s and have good quality control at all restaurants, but this is not the case. Perhaps, these waitresses/servers just have small town/non-professional mentality(probably) having lived in Colonial Heights all their life, never having left the county(except to go to Virginia Beach) and thought this was appropriate behavior. Perhaps they are still stuck in the civil war mentality. Perhaps neither wanted to wait on a table of one because they thought the amount of the tip would not be enough for her trouble. I have eaten at more than a few Outbacks over the years and I have never been treated like this. I like another reviewer of this restaurant left and went to the same one that he did and was treated as a customer should be. The steak was better also.

Met the typical Outback standards. Food was good and service the same. The steaks were cooked appropriately. Had to remind the server about the bread — but it came promptly after that.

It’s your typical Outback menu options. The staff was friendly, and the restaurant was clean. I will say the Bloomin’ Onion is always great and a perfect starter to lunch or dinner. The steaks are good, but a little small for me. There’s plenty to choose from to fill your appetite and your thirst.

First time I came here for pork chops. Wasn’t all that bad, but then the second time I came for a ribeye. Excellent, highly recommend. Samuel Adams and Stella Artois seems to be the beer that’s in too.

I’ve eaten at this location twice, both times were take out. The first time I ordered a steak. I didn’t check it before getting back to my room and found it slightly overcooked and a little bland. Nothing horrible mind, but not what I would expect from Outback. Went back a second time and checked my steak before leaving. It was WAY overdone. Walked in and they made me another one, which was perfectly cooked. I did not check the lobster tail though and when getting back to my room I found it was NOT done on the inside… so much so that it was inedible. I called the manager to inform them of the issue and they did refund my meal. He offered to make another one but I did not want to drive back out to pick it up. The take out staff and manager were friendly and professional. I will not be back to this location though.

While traveling back home we decided to stop in for dinner on a Saturday night. We called ahead and saved about 60 minutes of waiting for a table. Our waiter(Travis S.) was very attentive, professional, engaging and provided a high level of customer service. The entire family was satisfied with the food and speed of service during a very busy night. Thanks

I haven’t been to an Outback in forever. They were rather busy for a Saturday night, but our group was seated very quickly. Our server seemed a little overwhelmed, but I understand that. My food was quite tasty and reasonably priced. I would definately return.

I’m surprised how well maintained and professional the staff is here considering good handful of chain restaurants are poorly ran in this area, this place is a pleasant surprise. Our waiter was attentive and just did everything right. Only complaint I had was that my Victoria steak was ordered medium and the cooks gave me something more medium rare, borderline rare. I can eat medium rare but tends to screw up my insides(TMI I know… but now you know why it bothered me: D) I told the waiter and he offered to take it back to get it cooked more but I just sucked it up and thanked him for offering, even the manager came by to check on us. It was nice to know that what I told the waiter did not fall on def ears. Glad to know these guys try to run a tight ship. All in all the food was good! It had good flavor though my girlfriend noted that the Caesar salad had a bit too much pepper for her taste everything else was spot on. We’ll be coming back here for sure!

Wow! I didn’t think Outback in Colonial Heights would have been so jam-packed with people at 6:00pm on a Friday night. After making our way to the front desk, we put in a request for a table for 2 and the hostess handed us a buzzer device. We were lucky enough to snag two seats at the packed bar after hovering around for only a couple minutes. So it starts… the beginning of a memorable night. Within the time it took us to drink a couple beers, the buzzer went off and we were politely greeted and seated. Our server was friendly and was able to answer our questions about new, featured menu items. She refreshed our drinks and took our order. I’ve been to this location at least 5 or 6 times in the recent past, so I was expecting thick, juicy steaks served up fresh and fast. Fast is no joke. As slammed as they were, the bloomin’ onion came out in a flash, quickly followed by salads. I was worried that we wouldn’t be finished with the first courses before the steaks arrived. The moment we finished up the salads, as if on cue, here comes our server with our entrees. The steaks and my lobster tail were delivered as ordered. Overall, a great casual dining experience that’s predictably and consistently satisfying. The experience was on track to make a five-star rating except for a kitchen mistake of putting slivered almonds in a dessert that we specifically asked(3 times) if it was tree-nut free. Two bites in, my friend’s mouth starts to tingle and get bumpy. Needless to say, he proceeds to spit out his food in front of me, followed by a rinse and spit. Not pretty to look at… not pretty at all. We flagged down another server who quickly brought more ice water and a manager. After a couple minutes of freaking out and wondering if a trip to the car for the epi-pen would be necessary, things in my friends mouth/throat area calmed down. Kinda embarrassing, but I must say, the managers and servers handled the situation well. The true measure of good customer service is how trained and empowered the staff and management are to address problems when they come up. Kudos! Here’s some ordering tips: 1. If you don’t like salads drenched in dressing, be sure to order it on the side. They’re a little heavy-handed on the dressing here. 2. If ordering lobster tail, choose it steamed. The grilled lobster can come out a bit dry and chewy while the steamed is usually tender and moist. 3. Don’t bother taking home any left over bloomin’ onion. It will never taste the same after re-heating. Like Arnold says… I’ll be back.

Visiting Outback was nothing short of depressing. After being greeted by a clean restaurant and upbeat waiter, we were served a meal that demonstrates the decline of the American food industry. The blooming onion, which was a family favorite for most of the country at some point, has become a golden oval made of salt and some onion thrown in there. All of the main courses came out with some defect(steal was rare when asked for medium rare, forgot to bring out the side soup etc.). It’s also became apparent that outbacks main ingredient has become sugar, which is also depressing for the amount of people who still rave about the restaurant chain. It’s also a pet peeve of mine when they bring boxes to your table for you to box your food yourself, which shows, for me, a lack of caring about the customer’s experience. I leave Outback realizing the best part of the meal was either the bread, or the moments of scanning the menu thinking of all the possibilities. But those hopes were drowned since a majority of the food we ate most likely came from a bag or the freezer. I won’t be rushing back to the Outback
