I’ve sold to Once Upon a Child several times — just not this specific location. I went in with a good amount of boy and girl clothes consisting of brands such as Gap, Gymboree, Janie and Jack, Ralph Lauren, Justice, Aeropastle, and a few Circo(Target). I would also like to note I hang dry all of my kids clothes with the exception of stuff from Target and Old Navy. The staff working this particular day was not very friendly and were all on their phones when I walked in. When it was time to pick up my stuff, while waiting for them to finish up, I browsed around and noticed most of their items(for the age of stuff I had) was mainly off brands such as Faded Glory from Walmart or Jumping beans. Many of the items were even faded or way out of date(I could tell by the inside tags). Once my stuff was ready I was really surprised at the items they chose to accept — only the Target items and one or two pieces from Justice made the cut(and these were the items I didn’t think they would take because of the wear on them). When I asked about the other items they couldn’t give a clear reason as to why they weren’t accepted. Fine if you can’t take them, but there should be a reason and they were pretty rude about it. I think they know their clientele and unfortunately many are okay with buying clothes second hand from Walmart. So I guess my point is if you have higher end items, do yourself a favor and find a store in a higher end area or find a group on Facebook to list your items on that will appreciate the brand quality.

Let me start off w/— I don’t have a lot of experience in the second hand clothes business(my sister is a HUGE thrifter) and I don’t have a child. Take both of those in consideration as you read this review. In December, a group from my class sponsored a local family who was expecting a child. We went to Once Upon a Child to shop for a car seat and bassinet. OUAC has a lot of new with tags and new in box clothing and items. They had several car seats in the original box. Fortunately, my shopping pal IS a mother because she said the car seats were not too much less than what you would find them at «regular» retail. This was right before the holidays because they had a TON of Christmas clothes for both boys and girls. The clothing looked new and was marked down because it was so close to Christmas. Think about it, a kid can only wear one of these outfits for one Christmas before they outgrow it. Anyway, some of the most adorable dresses were marked to $ 3! Super cute, look like new and a great steal! You couldn’t beat it. My friend happened to be right. We walked over to Kmart and paid a few bucks more for the bassinet and car seat. It was worth it because we were able to get one specifically for a little girl. Like most things — you have to know what you are buying or you won’t get a good deal. I didn’t know what I was looking for(baby stuff) and had no idea what the price range should be. If I do have children or need to buy for children anytime soon — I would hit up a OUAC. I had no idea this is a chain!
