Ice cream is good. Very creamy soft serve. Prices are good too. The reason I gave it 3 stars is for two reasons. 1. This place is CASH ONLY. In this day and age, why would you not accept credit cards? We live in a digital age… They have an ATM inside for you to withdraw cash but with a surcharge.
2. The cashier had an attitude problem. Yes the store is busy, so what? Treat each customer that you’re thankful they’re giving you their business (especially the ones that go out of their way to get cash) and if you can’t, go find another place to work that doesn’t have customer facing.

This place has too many flavors and you’ll be asked what you’d like right when you open the door (So you better be quick). I personally started salivating by just glancing at the flavors, don’t judge =X

HANDS-​DOWN MY ALL TIME FAVORITE ICE CREAM SHOP IN NJ. I’ve been going here for over 10 years and nothing has ever come close to being as good as this place. In the summer there is usually a line out the door but you’ll appreciate the extra time because it’ll give you a chance to look through their huge menu. I always get the chocolate chip and coconut flavors out of habit but I’ve tried samples of other flavors and they’re really good too. They have the classics but also some funky flavors and about 10 different varieties of chocolate, maybe more.
It’s a small shop with no indoor seating but it’s got a decent sized parking lot and picnic tables around the building. Most people eat by their cars or walk around. You can’t beat the prices. To put it into perspective, I can order a cup with about 4 – 5 big scoops for the price or 1 scoop at Coldstone. It’s the local «hole in the wall» place I love bringing my friends to. FYI It’s Cash Only, they have an ATM in case you forget.

Delicious! Love coming here in the summer. The line can be long and it’s cash only but it’s worth it! I’ve had chocolate chip cookie dough and mint chocolate chip and both are so good! My husband always gets a milkshake.

This will be brief as the Dairy Maid is AWESOME and there’s not much more to say beyond that. Be prepared for a long line that moves faster than you expect. The ice cream is delicious and inexpensive for the quality and quantity. We should come here more often. No wait, we shouldn’t because I’d end up weighing 500 lbs.
We’ve driven past this place so many times before we finally stopped in. Don’t be like us. Go, go now!

My parents have lived in Colonia for the last 7 years but we only found this place a few years ago. Now we go every time I come home because it’s a great little ice cream shop with more options than you could desire. My favorite is the vanilla crunch (with the little chocolate cookie crumbs in it) with rainbow sprinkles but I have yet to try a flavor that I don’t like. It’s got a homey feel to it with since it is locally owned and run and there is always a fast moving line. It’s definitely worth a visit on a hot summer day!

I’ve been going to Colonia DM since I was a little boy. Being from Central Jersey and twenty or so minutes away, it’s worth the drive compared to going to a closer joint by me. Shakes are delicious and ice cream as well. During the summer, the line can go out the door but it’s worth the wait. They have sugar free and diet ice cream in hard and soft serve. Recommend the black raspberry soft serve and the shakes.

I can only give this place 5 stars for what I have had here which is the SpongeBob hard ice cream. French vanilla ice cream with brownie pieces and mini M&Ms…doesn’t get any better. I come here a few times a month and haven’t been able to try anything new, it’s that good!

Finally got to come here after passing by it so many times !
I wish I would of came here earlier.
This place has over 50 flavors of ice cream and different types of ice cream cones and toppings. I got a dulce de leche on a crunch cone It was so fricken big it must had about 6 scoops of ice cream and I paid only $ 4 for it I was like WOWWWWW. It was amazingly delicious and creamy however i couldn’t finish it I only ate half of it since it was too much for me.
The lines here are usually out the door so be prepare to wait !
The down side is that the employees here never smile at all. I mean put a smile on it doesn’t hurt.

I have been going here for years and love it. They have an outstanding selection of ice cream and other treats at very reasonable prices. The long line tends to move rather quickly so don’t be discouraged if you are driving by and think it’s going to be a long wait. There is a reason there is a line here and you don’t want to miss out.
While the ice cream may not quite be on a par with Hagen Daz or some of the premium ice cream places, it is still a most excellent product and always fresh. Many, many different flavors. And, I think their prices are cheap!
I love it here! Just be careful driving in and out of the parking lot. It’s located at a big and busy intersection so look all ways carefully before pulling out.

Hot summer nights mean ice cream … Yes, REAL ice cream, not some sort of fake, processed fast food soft-​serve gloop.
Step back into the past, underneath the retro awning and angular roof, and pick one of the FORTY Bombtastic flavors available. You can get cups, cones, sundaes, even ice cream cakes.
You’ll gain weight just driving by this place, so you might as well just stop in and treat yourself!

Went in here earlier today to grab some ice cream! I’ve been here a couple of times, and just like today, I’ve never had an issue with their ice cream or customer service at all.
Today I had two scoops of ice cream, which consisted of Cake Batter and S’mores, and topped it off with Butterfinger pieces. It was really good!
A long time ago, they used to accept credit cards, but now they only accept cash. Make sure you bring plenty of cash when coming here.
Overall, a very good local ice cream place!

40 flavors of ice cream! Some of the flavors seem to overlap though. (i.e. Cookies & Cream, Cookie Dough, and Cookies & Milk) I actually asked for a sample of each of those 3 and while they are similar they are still differentiable. Not all of their flavors are available in milkshake form since they only use soft-​serve for their shakes. Don’t let that get you down though since they still offer 20 or so shake flavors to choose from! My shake was extremely thick which is fine, I just wish they gave me a larger diameter straw.
Will definately be coming here more often come summer time!
