Steak ‘n Shake

Our server tonight was awesome! It’s Halloween night and he is dressed up as buddy holly! Love it! The food is good, it got cold fast however. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is the cook is a man with long frizzy hair and he is not wearing a hair net. It’s disconcerting to see the hair and no net to keep it out of the food.

I stopped by here for dinner this evening while staying in Collinsville for the night. I figured at 9 PM on a Sunday that it would be quick.
The big problem was that there was really only 1 waitress serving 75% of the dining room.
The other 25% was tables full of LOUD potty mouth teenagers that seemed to be friends of some of the staff. Instead of helping out the young lady that was waiting on me and many other tables, they served and chatted with their friends.
When my food finally arrived, the fries were cold. I did not mention it since the young lady was already overwhelmed. Yes, I did leave her a decent tip. $ 2.00 on a $ 6.00 check.
The management needs to be noticing these things and telling the staff that the restaurant is not their clubhouse.

If I could give this place no stars I would. Sat at the bar and waited over 30 minutes for a Frisco that was somehow still cold by the time it came to me. The fries were horrible. Shake was pretty good. Watched as the cook threw food around on the grill. Won’t ever be back.

This was my first time at this location and I was impressed not to see a Steak N shake packed with hoodrats after a night of partying. I had a really good meal and a friendly waitress who made sure we had everything the experience was great will do again.

This review is of the drive-​thru only. You never know what you will get when you come here. Sometimes your order may be correct but most of the time it is wrong. Other times, they are out something you want to order like biscuits. Who runs out of biscuits at 9 am?
What annoys me most is when they forget to give you something and they expect you to return after you have already made it home.

The place is packed on Veterans Day. This could only result in deplorable service.
Daphne is up to bat as our server. I’m hopeful because I have never seen Daphne in here working before.
Here goes the order Bacon Cheese Burger, cup of Chili, Turtle Shake and a Root Beer in a to go cup…
To go cup was a no go, single burger came out a double, Shake came out cookies and cream.
The place is filthy, although I haven’t seen this place clean since Biglari Holdings Inc took over the chain.
I’m sure we will be back again, hoping for change…

Overall great value menu. Service has always been fast and friendly. Love the shakes!

Good service. Quick to seat people when they come into the building. I noticed workers are clean and when they go to the register they take of there gloves to handle the money and put on new ones before going back to handle the food. Friendly people.

Hee. THis is the place to be. Oh how I wish we had Steak n Shakes in Socal. When ever I come to town to visit my rellies in C’Ville, I end up at this S&S.
The double cheeseburger, wtih pickle, fries, and a chocolate shake. And a cup of chili. Seriously the BEST chili. I know, that’s a lot of food, but trust me, it’s worth it.
The only bad thing about this place is people smoke in the restaurant. They ask you smoking or non smoking? LOL, it ALL smells like smoke.

I heart Steak-​N-​Shake. 24-​hour diner. Great «steakburgers.» Amazing shakes. And those little tiny cut french fries. Yummmmmmm. :o)
