Went to the local store to pick up an adapter for my socket wrench. I love Craftsman tools because they last so long and have a great exchange policy if they ever do fail. Walked in and the young man helping me said they were out of the adapter I needed. I continued to look around and located the exact item I came in for a few minutes later. I asked about another item I had been looking for since I was already there and again they could not even understand what I was talking about. Very frustrating. I went to the hardware section to pick up some bolts and had some questions on the product and the associate told me he had no idea and that they really don’t have a hardware person in the store. It is sad really. At one time you could walk into Sears and they seems to be so knowledgeable on their products and had knowledgeable associates on par with a Lowes or Home Depot. Now it is more like walking into a Wal Mart without the low prices where your only option is to deal with a poorly trained kid working a part time job. Sad to see this happening especially since they carry such good quality tools.

I bought the entire Kenmore Elite Kitchen Suite in December, 2012 as part of a complete kitchen remodel. I also bought the«Platinum, bullet proof» warranty. I will say that this store and this company chronically overpromise and under deliver. The slide in cook top is impossible to keep clean. It had etchings in it from the first time I used it. I was told by the salespeople that the warranty covered it. The warranty people did not cover it. When they install it for a charge, the person who delivers it does not install it. Also 1 person does not install all the appliances. Each appliance must be installed by a specialist. It can take up to a week of vacation to get these all delivered and installed. When you do get a covered repair, it takes weeks to get the felon who does warranty work out here to work on it. He never has the parts when he comes out to case, err estimate the parts needed. He then comes back to fix the item. This is VERYFRUSTRATING when you have to take time off from work both days to get your stove fixed. You would think they would know their products and have the most frequently broken item in stock on their truck. But they do not. The Kenmore elite dishwasher has had a leak, a bad motor, a bad control panel, necessitating 5 trips in the last year for repairs/reordering. The dishwasher was not working from before Thanksgiving until last week, Fully 25% of the time that I have owned it. The other problem with these screwballs is that they are in your area maybe one day a week. There is no flexibility. One time the felon came out and unplugged and plugged in the dishwasher it worked and he left. I shit you not. 1 day later it stops working with a different code. That was the day I told them that the felon does not come back! The vent hood is the worst. It trap the cooking fumes that the cook top makes. One light socket is constantly dead. Even the refrigerator needed a cracked drawer repaired.
I have called the store, store manager, warranty department and the Warranty department management to get these items remedied to no avail. I will continue to utilize these items until they crap out after the warranty, and then I will replace them. Sears is going under do not buy any of their items, Go with a different company if you are smart! Buyer Beware.
