Beautiful venue Great sound The seats are a little tight but you are not sitting there all day so you can deal with it The upper levels are rather steep and I think the seats tighter up there but that may be an illusion Id prefer more premier artists but I guess they need to keep things on a budget Parking can be a challenge of you don’t get there early

I’m not much of a theatre type of person so when I saw a good deal, I thought I had nothing to lose except a few dollar bills. It was worth it. I arrived an hour early, had decent parking since they have a private lot, grabbed my will call seats, ate a snack and sat with my friend before the show started. The seating was small but I have heard bad stories about other theaters in Philly. I’m 5’1 so having a clear view means a lot and also I had enough room to have my coat in my lap. It is tight seating, I won’t deny that but not so bad. Overall the venue is between a 3 star and 4 star. I do want to recommend an early arrival to get parking and avoid any lines. There is an elevator but you I recommend calling ahead to verify if you may need assistance.

Had never heard of this place but went there to see a band a couple years ago and liked it so much I went back for the Nick Lowe Quality Holiday Revue on 12÷13÷14. It’s a lovely old theatre and a great place to see a show. The acoustics and sight lines are great. Not a bad seat in the house. A bit of a trek from NYC(about an hour and a half) but if they’re having someone you like it might be worth the trip. Note: They periodically send out an email of events if you add your email to their website.

«Money doesn’t buy class»…but it doesn’t hurt. The scottish Rite exhibits class from an entirely different era. The choices in design and architecture reflect the values of a very different time in our society. Built at a time when greatness in men was still believed to exist, and still held(at least by some) to be virtuous, this theater stands as a monument to the greatness of men. Every carefully placed stone, or slab of marble, represents the very best of which we are capable. Every stained glass window represents a commitment to Art, craftsmanship, and knowhow. I can look at the building with a very real amount of reverence. As far as performances go, it’s pleasant enough. Being an audiophile, I’m bothered by almost every aspect of the sound here. The setup, which is completely wrong for the room, is run by fools. I have no doubt that this is a product of budgetary restrictions, but it still seems to border on being sacrilegious. Be ready for plenty of feedback and blown cues. Whoever does the programming also seems to gravitate towards acts which are clearly beneath the illustrious history of the building. Gallagher? No other words are needed there, I think. I understand the values of society have changed, but there are some of ‘us’ left. Seek us out. Befriend us. Don’t be afraid of real Art. Urqhart out.

I had heard of this place, but hadn’t ever been here until Saturday evening when my wife saw Aaron Neville and his quintet here. The theater is beautiful! It reminds me of an old masonic hall. The seats are a bit tattered and should be replaced, but things were comfortable. The theater is small enough(~1000 seats) so the views are wonderful. The acoustics were good. The ushers were helpful. Tickets for the event were inexpensive enough. Parking is free. I would gladly attend another event here.
