Nice lunch buffet, I recommend it. The food is very good, curry, korma, etc. Place is decorated, cloth linens, clean, cozy place. Price is a good deal. Service is good, attentive and quick. Buffet is not big, has about 6 entrée items, 3 chicken and rest vegetarian and all were really tasty, maybe the best tasting veg korma I’ve ever tried. I’ll need to come back for dinner.

This is our go-to Indian restaurant! Their lunch buffet is wonderful and always has a mix of regular favorites and new dishes to try. We’ve had many different lamb, chicken, and vegetable dishes from the regular menu, and we have never been disappointed. We also love the Vegetable Pakora appetizer. The owner is so down to earth and spends time checking in with each table. The restaurant is a bit off the beaten path of downtown Collingswood, but that just means that it’s easier to find parking right away! Also, they have a discount on Tuesday and Wednesday nights for dine-in customers! Go now and enjoy!

This place is located several blocks off the main drag in Collingswood and by no means is as flashy or as trendy as an Indieblue. BUT this place has something that other Indian restaurants don’t have. An authentic touch. I’ve been to the lunch buffet several times, it’s excellent. I went last night for dinner for the first time and I came away equally impressed. My girlfriend and I eat a lot of Indian food and we came away thinking this was the best we’ve had in Philadelphia or Collingswood. For the price and quality of food, it can’t be beat. I just wish there was more foot traffic coming in and out of this place. We showed up at 5 o’clock on a Sunday and were the only table for almost the whole meal. Which is great for us because it was quiet, our server was attentive and the food came out quickly. Overall, a great little hidden gem in Collingswood.

Want incredible food that you’ll never create at home? Go here now! The food is simply fantastic and the prices are beyond reasonable. We’ve been to the other two Indian places in Collingswood and this place is hands down the winner. The Samosa Chaat might be the greatest food invented, it’s that good. I ordered the tandoori chicken and when it came out I thought she gave me the whole chicken it was soo much food but it was just the half! My wife ordered the Shrimp Nargisi and got her curry hot which was a bit too hot for this sissy. My side curry was medium and to me it was the perfect heat. We’ll be back soon, like next week soon.

We just dined @ Clay Oven for the first time just last night and we are already planning our next visit. Everything we got was SODELICIOUS– I don’t know if we would order all the same stuff or try some new dishes. I don’t want to «butcher» the proper Indian names of the dishes so I’ll tell you what we had the best way I can describe… For three of us the appetizer sampler was the perfect amount. Amazing! Maybe too small for 4ppl, maybe too much for 2ppl. Honestly, I can just order that for dinner and be happy. Then for entrees we got Tandoori Chicken, Ground Lamb with Peas, and Creamed Spinach with Cheese Curd. We also got the Onion Naan Bread. We almost forgot to order that which would have been a huge mistake! This Onion Naan was so good. We then got the dessert with the condensed milk. If you order these dishes as I listed them, they will know exactly what you’re requesting! Server was very sweet and very knowledgeable. I read on some reviews that normally the owner is there. She was not there last night, but our service would have made the owner proud. Although the décor and atmosphere is not as nice as «that other Indian restaurant in Collingswood», it offers a much better quality and I feel like it’s a bit more authentic, AND the prices can’t be beat! So try it out. If you like Indian food, you’ll be glad you did. Oh, and just so you know– I like spicy… in fact all three of us like spicy and we ordered everything«medium spice», and it was perfectly spiced. I don’t know for certain, but I think full strength spice might have been a little too spicy. Go with medium. After all, if you’re going to order mild, you shouldn’t be eating Indian food in the first place!

Absolutely delightful place. The proprietor is a very sweet Indian woman with a warm smile. The food is superb, easily the best Indian in the area. The lamb korma is rich, creamy, luscious, tender, and generously portioned. The chicken tikka masala is equally good. You can tell all the ingredients are fresh. The meat is cooked perfectly. It’s a no-frills place. Much better than Indeblue in my opinion. It’s my go-to Indian restaurant now.

We just checked this place out tomight on a whim, and not only wad the service exceptional, but the food was also delicious! I had a mild version of the chicken curry, which was packed with flavor, and other dishes we tried were the chicken tikka and mahkani, and lamb vindaloo. Everything was fantastic and we will definitely be back!

The food was delicious. The service was excellent! We started at another place close by called IndeBlue and it was loud, stuffy, and crowded. Here, it was quiet and we were able to enjoy our meal without having to worry about bumping someone at the next table. I would come back here every time I am in town.

Went for the lunch buffet. Everything was delicious, and at $ 8.95 the price was totally reasonable for lunch. We also received very attentive and friendly service. Definitely looking forward to going back there again!

After moving to Collingswood from Brooklyn, we were in search of good Indian food. We tried Cross Culture in Haddonfield and Indeblue. However, they weren’t quite as good as I had hoped. After trying Clay Oven Palace, the search was over! Their chicken tikka masala is tender and spicier than both I tried at Cross Culture and Indeblue. The chicken at Cross Culture was actually rubbery! Not only have we been back to Clay Oven Palace several times in the past year and a half, it’s our go to place for Indian food. Did I mention the garlic Naan is unbelievable?! They have great service and are always friendly over the phone or in person(which wasn’t my experience at Cross Culture). The atmosphere in the restaurant is great too. Ooh and try their mango lassi! Amazing! So glad this is close by our house and plan to continue going there when craving good Indian food!

We had such a lovely dinner here last night. The woman running the show was the sweetest lil lady ever! I had the Kheema Lamb and my fiancé had the Chicken Makhani, both medium heat and we had garlic naan and plain naan. It was all just so delicious. Really. I have been to quite a few Indian spots in the area, and this stands out as far as food AND service go. We got takeout months ago and were pleased, but we are now willing to eat out here regularly ;)

This is my go-to place for Indian! I absolutely LOVE Indian food, and upon moving to the area, I made it my mission to try all of the Indian restaurants in the area. Well I did, and Clay Oven is, IMHO, the best by far! The spice is always perfect(I always order medium heat), the food is very well-seasoned and oh so flavorful. Even the basmati is great on its own! They also have a great lunch buffet Monday — SATURDAY(!!) for only $ 8.99. The dining room is very quaint and simply decorated; tables can accommodate couples or larger groups. The servers are friendly and attentive, and you won’t wait very long for your meal. It’s a liitle«off the beaten path» of the downtown Collingswood restaurant scene, but it’s definitely worth the very short trek for the best Indian food around!

Great lunch buffet and very reasonably priced! They reportedly rotate the items on the buffet. I was happy to see how many people were there on a Wednesday for lunch. We were the first to get there at 12:30, but there were several doing take-out from the buffet and several more tables filling as we ate. I hear that the food is very authentic, and it sure was delicious! A great quick and tasty lunch. Thank you! I look forward to returning.

Cheap, quick, reasonably efficient and clean. way better than average for such a bargain. I great place to buffet. If you’re going for more proper Indian cuisine, there are better, less-modestly prices spots in town(IndeBlue.) But for a quick, cheap, yummy lunch this is the spot.

I went for the buffet on a Sunday. It was very good, and can’t beat it on the price. The soup, cabbage dish, goat, and chili chicken were my favorite dishes. All were spiced well and flavorful. The soup was especially good, I could see myself ordering large containers of the soup throughout the winter. It was a thinner cream based curry soup with lemongrass. The cabbage was yellow curry with what looked like mustard seeds, it worked well for adding some vegetables to some of the other meat dishes. The goat tasted very good, though I kept getting pieces that were mostly just bone. It was frustrating, because you couldn’t tell until you bit it, due to the sauce. The sauce was a green curry sauce. The chili chicken was my favorite of the entrees. It had a nice spice to it, moist chicken and the sauce went well with the vegetables as well. The naan was terrific, and plentiful at the buffet. The server brought fresh, warm naan to the table, it was fluffy and light. There were a couple of dishes in the buffet that I wasn’t thrilled with: The ocra dish was over cooked, the ocra was spongy and shriveled. I wouldn’t order it again. The saag paneer was sub par. This is one of my favorite Indian dishes, but it didn’t measure up to other places in the area(Indie Blue still has one of my favorite saag). It is much thinner(what I usually expect from paneer palak rather than saagwala), and there was very little paneer in teeny tiny cubes. Chai was good, they have sweetened and unsweetened versions. I liked the unsweetened version, the others at my table thought it could use some honey.
