I was not very impressed, especially when taking the prices into consideration. Everything was just meh. Honestly a DiGiorno and some homemade garlic bread would have saved us $ 45 and we all would have been much more satisfied. Also, considering Ciao Baby is like 2 blocks away… we just won’t be going to Whaley’s again.

I am updating to five stars. They have earned it. My first impression of the service wasn’t that great, but after going 5 times or so, I’ve seen no more of that unfriendly service. My wife has had Whaley’s 3 or 4 times now and she loves it. After eating that Stromboli, I think that I’m going to be coming back here for many years! If you haven’t been here yet, you should!

Not bad. We were seated quickly and the service was great. The prices are fair and you get a lot of food, the Stromboli was huge. We would come back again.

I went to Whaley’s Pizza yesterday with my family for lunch. My husband has been going there and has brought some pizza home that I thoroughly enjoyed. That being said it is nothing like going there and getting it fresh. My husband and I each ordered the 2 slice lunch special. My son asked them to make a sandwich for him because he is a very picky eater. They were very helpful and accommodating. I ordered chicken and mushrooms on my slices of pizza. The slices were so huge I could barely finish one slice so I brought the other slice home for dinner. Their pizza is great reheated but it is amazing fresh. I will definitely be going back many times.

I really love the pizza at Whaley’s, but the service is notoriously awful. We have been five times and each time have come when there weren’t a lot of people there(usually around 5/5:30), but still struggled to get our drink ordered within the first 5 – 7 minutes of arriving, had to wait at least ten minutes after we were done eating to get our check, and three of the five times had to finally flag down our server to get our check because he or she was just talking to people in the kitchen. If the service was better, I’d eat there a lot more, but as it stands, it’s not worth the headache.

Called in an order and arrived at the restaurant with a couple of tables being taking up.(Not busy) stood at the cash register waiting to be acknowledged while one guy sat on the employee side of the bar talking to his buddies that were customers, one guy making pizza dough, and a girl making a salad. After the girl made eye contact she smiled and it took a minute for her to stop whatever she was doing to come up and asked if I had been helped. The pizza is good the warm welcome not so much.

Personally I think the pies are great! Great crust, toppings, fresh, etc. However this is the 2nd time where the sandwiches are subpar. Previously I had the pesto panini and today I tried the amazingly simple«Italian» hoagie… seriously people!!! How hard is it? Soft bread, fresh/thin slices of salami, pepperoni, prosciutto, thin fresh tomatoes, onion, shredded lettuce, and Italian dressing/marinade. Cheese optional and I would take it in a heartbeat! But this sammie was so, so not even enjoyable. Tomatoes mushy, lettuce soggy, «chunks» of onion, and where the hell was the sauce? A dab even? I’ve yet to find anyone in Memphis who can make an Italian sub except for Fino’s and many«pizza» places don’t even try. Very upsetting. Keep up the good work on the pies, but please try to put that same love into the sandwiches.

Got here @6 pm on Friday night. Only 2 other tables occupied. It’s 6:46& still waiting on my dolce & my daughters slow. My son & husbands large pizza came @6:40. Ridiculous!!! We like this place but the past 2 times has been super slow! And poor waiter apologizes but no manager ever comes over.

The pizza is ok and the main reason I gave this place a 3 star review. In my opinion, if «Pizza» is in your name, it better be good. Love the local feel and the staff is friendly. Glad beer is served, though more craft brews would be on my wish list. Overall, it’s an ok place.

Love this place for a quick lunch… A slice and a salad with a drink is about $ 6.99! Super yummy! The pepperoni rolls are also delicious!

Chicago style pizza was excellent! Loaded with good tasting cheese — marinara sauce and crust were also very good. Excellent value for the money. Large pizza was $ 15 for 8 very thick slices. We could only eat two apiece, and the rest got saved for lunch. Salad was fresh, soft drinks bottomless and server very attentive. Pizza served in round pan vs. the normal square pan I’m used to seeing for Chicago-style pizza, but not a drawback. This was our first visit and we will definitely return!

Our first visit here. We ordered a healthy momma on NY style crust. Crust exactly right — chewy texture yet easily folded by this native New Yorker. Excellent amount of cheese and toppings. We will definitely be back!

Inexpensive, Filling Lunch Specials The pizza is good but not over the top and that is the reason for 4 stars not 5. You definitely will not go away hungry. I ordered the lunch salad and one slice of a one topping pizza. When the waitress brought my pizza I thought she had brought me two slices. She said it was just one(¼ of a normal size pizza). One of the people with me got two slices and yes, it was twice as much as what I received. Very friendly staff.

Very under-whelming pizza. In fact it was terrible. We got the bbq thin crust. The crust was terrible. Extremely bland and tough. BBQ meat was chopped so fine you couldn’t tell there was meat on the pizza. I would order a dominos or pizza hut over this. Frozen pizza would even be a better choice.

Whaley’s pizza can be really good or it can be really bad. There is no consistency. The first couple times my husband and I went there service was really good and the pizza was good. The next few times service was super slow and either my pizza was good and my husbands was bad or vice versa. Like I said no consistency. After our last experience with the service we have just gotten take out. Last night we picked up a couple pieces and my ordered mushroom and pepperoni. It wasn’t cooked throughly. He didn’t even eat it. I ordered the veggie, which I hadn’t done for a while bc sometimes the veggies were just thrown on, ugh, last night was that night again. None of them were cooked. It was gross. After I had the bad experience with the veggie(the first time) I had switched to the margarita(which isn’t really a margarita). The garlic was literally thrown on and not cooked! I sent it back and asked them to make sure they cooked the garlic. After that I always made sure to say that. The experiences I mentioned have taken place over a 6 month period and it’s not like we had pizza there every week. I think the pizza could be really good with some training. You’re probably wondering why we kept going back… it’s the definition of insanity. No more.

Wow!!! Wow!!! If there is such a thing as bad pizza than come on over to this place. I ordered a simple slice of cheese pizza. What I got looked like a huge glob of uncooked cheese throw over an incredibly bland sauce with a base crust below average. Not sure what happened to this place because the other couple of times I was here it was okay. Not today! I don’t know when these pizza places will get it but only very large overeaters want cheese covered everything; or more cheese the better. This mozzarella cheese is from a bag and it was like eating elasticized plastic by products. Some of us like to moderate food intake to remain fairly healthy. This glob of uncooked bland cheese is not it. Stay away

I did not know Mama Mia’s was no longer at this locale, but decided to give this place a try. Went with a New York Style Pepperoni & Mushroom. The pie was decent, the price reasonable, the service friendly and efficient. The crust was thin and crispy, the sauce sweet, and the cheese fairly even. I’m curious about the Chicago Deep Dish and the Memphis square style pies.

I hate updating my reviews for the worse, but I have to do it here. After a few bad experiences we’ve basically decided not to go back. The issue quite simply is consistency. We’d go, order the same pizza we ordered the previous time, and it would come out different. Typically in toppings, like a wildly different amount of cheese on the pizza or an off balance mix of vegetables. The final straw was that we ordered a deep dish one time, had it come out and be perfect. We went back and ordered the exact same pie the next trip, and had it come out with the cheese in the center not melted at all. When we complained the manager told us that we didn’t order enough toppings, so they had to put in more cheese to keep the sides from collapsing and thus there was no way to bake it properly. I can assure you this is a problem I’ve never had in Chicago, and we did not have the previous trip with the exact same order.

First off, the slices are HUUUUUUGE. At first I thought $ 3-$ 5 a slice was a rip-off. But when I saw how big the slices were I realized it is actually very well priced. Each slice is easily larger than a large plate. We got the Nacho, Pepperoni, Meatball, and Hawaiian. It took a long time to get our food, but there’s an informational sheet on each table which explains why. They use fresh ingredients, make their own dough and sauce, and use brick ovens that take longer to cook the food. But all is forgiven because they actually give you a headsup. Also the quality and portions were amazingly epic. Hubby got Nacho and Pepperoni while I got Meatball and Hawaiian. Mine ended up being the best. Though I wouldn’t recommend pairing those two together because the meatball is great but has a more subtle flavor that gets completely destroyed by the Hawaiian’s stronger flavors. So eat the meatball first if you get them both! Summary: Hawaiian — to die for! Meatball– good Pepperoni — ok Nacho– meh We will be coming back!
