I was extremely upset about my appt today with Dr. Toy. Here was the way it went: after a quick, painful examination of my knee he says «well it could be a torn meniscus or torn ligament, but I didnt see any arthritis in your xray, you could get an MRI done but it will only show soft tissue. Do you have any numbing or tingling in your toes?»
Me: no doctor: how far does the pain go? Me: well sometimes it hurts so bad I can feel it in my toes. Doctor: Do you really think this is a problem with your knee?
Me: *dumbfounded look* uh yeah
Doctor: well, it could possibly be your back. Do you have any back issues?
Me: I have some issues with my lower back
Doctor: Well, you have a choice… wanna shot of cortisone, im good at giving shots…
Me: no… *getting irritated*
Doctor: well im gonna order you steroids and a topical cream and yiu can come back in 3 – 4 weeks
Me: So do I still have to go to physical therapy?
Doctor: sure!!! Couldnt hurt
Me: do I still wear the brace?
Doctor: do you like it?
Me: uh… no! Doctor: Then dont wear it!!!
The staff is very nice and Nurse Practitioner Tasha Sabino is awesome but I wont ever go back… I would rather hurt than be subjected to this treatment.
