You usually can’t go to Big Lots with an agenda. If you go looking for something it’s a sure bet they won’t have it. BUT, if you just stroll around you are sure to fill a buggy.

I love Big Lots. I enjoy going in from time to time just to see what they have gotten in. I always find something I can’t live without. Make sure you join their Buzz Rewards for even more savings.

Big Lots is a discount store notorious for selling cheap mattresses, bachelor pad furniture, and markdowns on ethnic, off-label, or nearly-expired foods. They have a variety of items, from makeup to pet care, to shoes, baby items, hardware, and holiday décor. This isn’t a store you approach with a list. Big Lots is shopping for the joy of shopping. You won’t find a traditional selection of goods here, but you will find Nutella half off, Pocky, Pickled Stuffed Grape Leaves, and Tacky Wall Art. We recently found a tremendous Whitmans Sampler, larger than my three-year-old. The store is reasonably clean for a discount store, and the service is very friendly. The bathroom smells fishy and isn’t always immaculately clean, but isn’t ever too dirty to use. I recommend viewing Big Lots as an entertainment experience. Try global foods, stock your pantry with juice and K-cups(as low as $.50 a cup here), and enjoy walking around and marveling at some of the rare and interesting items. Best use: pick out toys for the needy for the holidays, as low as ½ price.
