Dirty tables, overflowing trash, forgettable service. And that was not a $ 6 burger! First and last time for me

Yay! I am fan of the Queen Kong which now comes with sweet potato fries! This is by far the best burger on campus. Keep up the good work!

In short, it’s a solid okay. Don’t get anything but the burgers… I had the chicken sandwich one afternoon and honestly was borderline disgusted. The entire restraint is pretty greasy and nothing to rave about, but my roommate got the burger and stood by it despite my opinion. If you’re in need of something to shove in your face with no concern for taste or your cholesterol, go for it.

I had a terrible experience at The Grill. Initially I came in because the smell was hard to resist as I walked by. I had just finished an intense study session of Government and Biology at Evans so I was ready to eat. The person who took my order was alright– not necessarily nice but not unpleasant either. Then I walk over to the waiting line. Here’s when things get good: the person preparing the food and calling out numbers just had attitude and wasn’t afraid to show it. She would make the food sloppily then toss the food down– not caring that fries and whatever else would fly out of the basket. Then she would barley whisper the order number. On one of the orders of say about a fourth of the fries flew out. The guy who owned the burger looked down at it with the expression«really?» Then comes my turn. She tosses down the salad and I think«Whatever. At least I can finally get out of here.» I look over to the utensils and there are NO forks and only one spoon. I turn around and ask my «favorite» employee if by chance there are any forks in the back. She doesn’t even acknowledge me for about five seconds. Then she mumbles«I don’t know somewhere I guess» so I kind of stand there like okay… I wait for about three minutes and I’m done. I grab the spoon and walk out. One of the worst experiences I’ve had at a Restaruant. I say that particular employee be fired for sure. But then again, that’s just me.

This place has the best breakfast tacos I’ve ever had. Their a bit over priced but I love them. I think a lot of people forget it’s on campus so check it out.

Hands down the Grill at the Pavilion is the best spot to eat on campus if you’re in the mood for a good burger. Every time I come here, I order my favorite, the Queen Kong($ 5.69). $ 6.16 total without a drink. The Queen Kong got all the best stuff: Cheese, lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, guacamole, and a fried egg! It’s topped with sweet potato fries also. What could get any better. Admittedly though, sometimes it’s a hit or miss. If you come here often enough, you know that there are good days, and there are bad days. But hey, everyone has bad days. That doesn’t hinder the fact that this place is a great for lunch in between classes. Their recent renovation makes the place much brighter and modern looking. They didn’t really add any more seating though. It gets super packed during lunch hours.

The Pavilion has a pretty decent veggie burger that they actually serve every day. It’s not fantastic, but it is pleasantly surprising. I expected a Gardenburger patty, but it actually looks like a handmade black bean patty. They microwave it, though, so don’t get too excited. All in all, this is one of the very few places to get vegetarian food on campus, and it is by far the cheapest place to get vegetarian food on campus.

The Grill is a school-run burger-type grill inside the Pavilion Hall near Evans Library. Everytime I go through the Pavilion for finance and money-wise stuff, I smell the grill. It smelled so dang good I went to search for the source! What I found surprised me. I saw a medium-sized eating area with lots of students chatting or eating individually over plates of large burgers and fries. I walk past the dining area and into the grill/ordering area. The right wall lists the special burgers each weekday. They all sounded so good. Frito Pie burger on Wednesdays!!! What??? Hellsss-yeah. They also serve a Vegetarian Black Bean burger on Wednesdays too. Two of my favorite foods, but completely opposite in food areas: healthy vegetarian vs meaty indulgence. Their full menu has breakfast burgers and tacos featuring eggs, cheese, and potatoes. Their lunch burger menu features the classics, along with some AWESOME sounding burgers. All their burgers are 1⁄3 lb beef patties, the typical toppings(lettuce, tomato) and the specialties feature various gourmet toppings. For example, the A1 burger has A1 sauce and I think cheese. King Kong has a fried egg, bacon, cheddar, and fries. The Queen Kong has fried egg, bacon, guacamole, house potatoes. I couldn’t read anymore for fear of drooling on the spot. Other specials include marinated chicken breast and fish sandwiches. I saw the meats they offered. They all looked fresh and juicy and the fish was only lightly breaded and fried. This is quality stuff, which delightfully surprised me, considering this is university dining. My first time, I bypassed the unhealthy temptation of the Frito Pie Burger and went with the Black Bean Burger($ 3.69-$ 4 or something). It is a Morningstar patty with lettuce, tomato, guacamole, something like thousand island, red bell pepper, and cucumbers. I ordered a side of sweet potato fries($ 1.99), but they also offer regular fries and onion rings. My order came out to about $ 6.50 after tax. I waited only a short while and received my order beautifully placed open-faced, with vibrant vegetables and fresh toasted buns. Looked delicious and large!!! I cut the burger in half and began chowing down. This was good stuff. They definitely are very generous with their toppings. The burger was delicious and filling. I ate the sweet potato fries, which were standard. Good, but nothing special about them. I prefer my fries a bit crispier. Overall, this is stellar university dining. For about $ 6, I got a delicious, quality burger and fries that would have cost me $ 10 or so at Grub. Definitely give this a try if you’re in the middle of campus mid-day and want an affordable, tasty, and filling lunch! Will definitely come back to try the Frito Pie Burger, the Queen Kong burger, and the fish sandwich sometime…

Was just walking through here again today after remembering that someone had recently given it a good Unilocal review. Noticed that they were grilling a bunch of patties, the staff was cheerful, smelled great in there and there were a good number of people waiting for their orders. The grill-master was moving fast and who am I to walk past something like that without grabbing some grub? I went with the King Kong the cashier suggested as the most popular. Snapped a photo of the menu and then another customer standing next to me said«Are you Greg D. on Unilocal?» Whaaaat??? :) It was none other than my Unilocal friend Andrew Z. that had posted the recent review that caused me to walk through here on my way to the parking zone. What an awesome small town when it comes to Unilocal. And thank you also to Andrew Z. for making sure I got some salt for my take out, as the fries did in fact need it, just like he said in his review and told me in person. LOL! The burger was a single juicy patty, nice and thick with a thick square of yellow American cheese just perfectly melted onto it. The bun was just perfect and if they are baking these on campus I’d be shocked. It was very slightly grilled to warm it, burger had a piece of lettuce, dill pickle chips, sliced white onions, a tomato, two pieces of juicy bacon that was not overcooked and a really super nice perfectly grilled egg. That egg topped this off so, so nicely. I was very surprised to find a fast, fun and surprisingly tasty filling value at $ 5. I didn’t feel all gross after eating it because it was not too greasy and didn’t have any mayo. I didn’t see a breakfast menu but will take Andrew’s word for that and try to hit this some morning. For now I am adding this to my lists of «Best Burgers in Aggieland» because it’s one of the best on A&M campus available all day, and«Breakfast in Aggieland». They also serve a black bean veggie burger which looked awesome. Might actually try one of those. Thank you Andrew Z. Cheers.

Best lunch value on campus. Tempted to say best burger on campus, but Chef Tai’s food truck right outside has a killer kobe burger(but for double the price). The good: –Large burger WITH fried egg, bacon, and fries for 5 bucks(King Kong and Queen Kong burgers) –They make their own buns –Good selection of other burgers(chicken, sliders, veggie) –Breakfast burritos, taquitos, hashbrowns, croissants in the morning The bad: –Burger can be kind of bland, and fries aren’t salty — pick up some ketchup/pepper/salt –Only Pepsi products available, but that’s the case with every place on campus –Line gets really long at lunch
