Great sliders in store and out on the truck. Both Mickey and Miller are wonderful to work with. We’ve had them cater two events this year and will definitely use them again! Try the Lonestar and bacon ketchup

It was a Northgate night and I was frolicking with friends in search of late night munchies after enjoying a fun night at O’Bannon’s. Lo-and-behold, I see the red truck of Mickey’s Sliders and start skipping toward it yelling«Mickey’s Sliders! Mickey’s Sliders!» I looked at their menu, sounded like good drunk people food between tiny buns. About $ 3 a pop is a bit pricey. We got the 2 slider with fries and a drink combo for $ 10. A bit pricey but definitely worth the occasional drunk splurge. I got the venison chili slider and BF got the American steak slider. Both were delicious. I really liked my venison chili. The fries were tasty, I can’t remember if they were seasoned, but they were definitely fresh. Best part The fries came with BACONINFUSEDKETCHUP. That was so good. Mind blown. I had to ask for more and they gladly gave me more. Workers are older college student looking. Chill, nice people that I think enjoyed my inebriated happy chattiness. Good food, a bit pricey for sliders, but good food and that’s the end of it.

Just stopped by and checked out Aggieland’s newest active food truck and this is sure to be a winner. What a clean machine. Actually got to meet Mickey himself! A really nice guy.(There actually is a Mickey). So a little later with my wife along as well we stopped by right after it opened to the public on it’s grand opening night at the Benjamin Knox Wine Depot. GM Miller was there, pointing out the new menu item exclusive to the truck, the Texas Cheese Steak, and Executive Chef Munoz was in the mobile kitchen cranking out some awesome perfection! We ordered the obvious choice, the exclusive item that you can’t get at Mickey’s Sliders(the restaurant iteself) the Texas Cheese Steak, as well as one of my go to favorites the Chicken Wing Royale that my wife had yet to try. Speaking of that Royale, Chef Munoz turned up the heat for this truck version as it packed a pepper punch that was respectable and a perfect wake me up for a fairly cool evening in Central Texas, one of our rare winter nights. The perfect bun was warm and fluffy with a very light toast on the grill with the succulent juicy chunks of marinated chicken topped with a lovely, crunchy slaw. When I told Chef Munoz that we both noticed the heat level and we loved it, he just smiled and shook his head gesturing yes. He nailed it, again. Now let’s get to the Texas Cheese Steak. I have never understood why Texans, at least in this town, just can’t seem to get it. We’ve got some chains in town that offer them, the very best I ever tasted was by Chef Stover in Stover Bros Café that was on their menu for like one week, and that left Aggieland with the King of Cheese Steaks, Sully’s… Mickey’s Slider Truck should by all rights wear the proverbial«Crown» of cheese steaks in this city. Ridiculously, stupidly delicious that made my wife and I both say«Oh wow!» and we laughed about how nice they were. Now if you do that, you get 5 stars. The perfectly marinated steak was swimming in juices that tied the unbeatable as in too the second perfectly grilled onions and poblano peppers(bringing it down South), with a white pepper cheese sauce, Holy Cow. just look;; And no. You can not get that at the restaurant. Only on the new truck. We also tried the Lone Star Fries which were hand cut topped with their BBQ Pulled Pork and shredded cheddar. I think those would be better with the same cheese sauce as on the Texas Cheese Steak and with a thicker cut fry like a steak cut. It’s a filling dish on it’s own and should be popular on Northgate where I think they were headed next. With premium Mexican soda in hand made with real sugar instead of the gross HFCS(High Fructose Corn Syrup) that we don’t drink, it was great to sit inside the Benjamin Knox Wine Depot and Art Gallery and take in some live music while devouring some of the most creative, fun and newest food in College Station. If you like Chef’s Tai’s Mobile Bistro that won America’s Favorite Food Truck Challenge on Food Network, you’re gonna enjoy Mickey’s Slider Truck as well. So look out Chef Tai, there’s a new food truck in town!
