Come here if you want rude service and a wrong order. I love the food here but they always seem to have rude staff that pays little attention to customer orders.

My experiences have been unfortunate, with sporadic moments of decency. My roommate wants to go here at least once a week, so I’ve been quite a bit. The pro is that I’ve had a few instances where the workers felt friendly and gave us an extra wing or drink. The cons are that any time you order wings, you’ll need to wait 6 – 10 minutes. Often they run out of things and you will need to wait 15+ minutes, or choose something else. Most of the time the workers are grumpy, forget to put items into your meals(such as chocolate chip cookies included with the $ 5 combos) or you’ll get the wrong side with your meal. If you want to change your order before they’ve put it in, they make a big stink about telling the kitchen staff to change something small, and it leaves the customer feeling awkward and offended. They’re good about attempting some kind of customer service, but a lot of the workers seem overworked and tired. Coming to this location makes me sad because it feels like the workers have been chicken wing-ed to death and are just ready to go home.

Well, the good news is that if you go there during the lunch rush, there is nobody there. This means you can get your food really fast. I could be really snarky and just end this review right here … Since we all know what it means when no one wants to eat at a restaurant. That would be unfair, although not that unfair. We all know what KFC is and their strengths and weaknesses are. IMHO, they may have been the first of the fried chicken chains — but they were not the best of the fried chicken chains. Both Popeye’s and Churches left them far far back in the dust. However, I think Corporate has picked up on the issue and is doing what it can to rehabilitate KFC. They have sensibly picked up that fried chicken is not a hot commodity for KFC the way that flavored coffee drinks are a hot commodity for Starbucks. So there has been a substantial menu diversification. There are now lots of alt dishes on the menu some of which aren’t too bad. A BBQ sandwich(here called Honey Barbecue to catch their demographic’s love of sweet stuff — but thankfully not all that sweet in reality) was tolerably decent. It is messy as hell — far messier than a Sloppy Joe and definitely requiring a whole fistful of napkins. It has bones, which is not a terrible thing per se. They were pushing pot pie when I went. How is the fried chicken? I almost never eat fried chicken when I am out so this is not a test I will be making anytime in the next decade or so. But if you have to stop by the road, and it is KFC — you won’t die.

If I could give zero stars I would. I’m not expecting much from a KFC, and the three times I’ve been there over the past year have been a major disappointment. The last time we were stuck in drive through for 25 minutes before ordering. Once we got to the window we were told they ran out of crispy chicken; we could either wait 5 minutes or get original instead, which we chose the original. An employee then told the window server that it would only be a minute or two until the crispy was ready and to have us just pull around instead and wait. I again said we would just like what is available immediately(it was hot out and we had our puppy in the car with us, so we really just wanted to leave ASAP). Long story short I had to raise my voice to get the employee to give me the original chicken that was ready to go. I was furious! The entire drive thru adventure took close to 45 minutes once all was said and done. The food has never been that good and the two other times I went there were items missing from my meals. Poor service, poorly run restaraunt, and zero quality standards. Avoid, avoid, avoid!

The chicken pieces were tiny, cold, and soggy. The mashed potatoes were lukewarm and bland. The cole slaw and biscuit were the only half-edible things I ordered. The service was really slow and the food overpriced for the lack of quality you receive. I know this is fast food, but I love Popeyes in College Station, so I figured KFC would be ok. Boy was I wrong!

Chicken pot pie and value bucket are the best. The fry is a bit salty but not lacking flavor at all

I like KFC and this place isn’t bad. Service may be not super fast but I don’t mind that of the food is well made and it generally is. I liked their #10 combo(lightly batter chicken nuggets) and pot pie but their potato wedges didn’t look freshly made.

NOTORIETY: Fast food chain FOOD: Original Recipe Boneless Chicken Combo($ 4.99 before tax): Great idea, esp since I hate dealing w/bones. Unfortunately execution needs improvement. This combo comes w/2 pieces but 1 piece had the skin just ready to fall off(in the bad way) while the other was solid w/the 11 secret herbs & spices. The mash potatoes & gravy were as good as I remember them. OVERALL: Consistency is lacking & I used to remember it tasting better. TIPS: 1. Hours: Mon-Sun 10am-10pm

I generally don’t like KFC, so it’s no surprise that this location failed to capture my heart. Well, it may have captured my heart in a literal sense by causing it to seize up and beg for mercy. The bland side dishes and grease-loaded chicken should be avoided.

Don’t believe I’ve ate at a KFC in the US for many years. The buckets certainly used to be larger. My last KFC meal was in Kyoto Japan last year and the food there is quite different(and better). We went to try the new«Grilled» chicken out of curiousity. They charged me $ 11 for a bucket on sale(10 for 9.99 as posted in the window), $ 2.50 for a $ 1 Side Order and $ 1.49 for iced water. After getting all three of these mistakes fixed in my favor and getting almost $ 4 removed that I was overcharged we brought the chicken home. Potato wedge were hot but a little too greasy. Green beans tasted like out of a can and contained a ton of water. Chicken was extremely dry and we could not finish it. It was dry to being hard to chew and we had to cut small pieces before giving up and tossing the last pieces out. Even the piece I gave the cat made him so thirsty that he went and drank water for about 10 minutes. Was going to comment on the new grilled chicken but won’t bother as it’s not worth the time. If we try KFC again we will go to the ones in Austin or if in BCS in Bryan. The Bryan store seems to be busier all the time so maybe we will get fresh juicy product there like KFC used to offer in the past. We won’t strike em down for one poor incident as I have never been that displeased with their food in the past. Maybe we should have been more demanding and asked for«fresh out of the oil» chicken… I think what they gave us had been sitting there for a while.

The College Station Kentucky Fried Chicken at Texas & Southwest Pkwy. had finished the upgrade of its exterior late last fall. But the speed of service seems to have slipped their attention. I have never encountered rudeness there, but I often have observed a lack of urgency when filling an order, and a typically thin crew, making customers wait to place their order as well. It takes me typically 15 – 20 minutes to place & receive my order, because I want all dark pieces, and they usually don’t have enough ready, or are shorthanded, and more focused in the drive-through window than the front counter. This hassle does keep me away sometimes, but when I get a craving, I am not easily deterred. Were it not for the wait, and the sometimes apathetic service, I would give this KFC4 stars.
