One of the best hobby shops in town no doubt. Like another reviewer I had this confused with Hobby Lobby which I eventually quit visiting as the inventory never seems to change and becomes boring. And then found out the company issues religious agendas and scratched it off my list of any company I would patronize again. THISISNOTHOBBYLOBBY! Smaller chain. The have a cool selection of model trains(Toy’s R Us doesn’t even carry them anymore), and even model rockets with engines or motors if you prefer. Great selection of pens as well. Mostly stuff made in China yet a wide variety. Nice people too.

I like this store. I’ve noticed it shortly after it arrived to town, and was very glad to this arrival But first, a bit of prehistory. Many years before this store appeared in College Station, upon moving to College Station, I mistook Hobby Lobby for this store(I had known Hobby Town stores from other cities and states), and was very disappointed about the confusion, as the Hobby Lobby stores are extremely boring. This store has many interesting toys and«gadgets». Time to time, I stop by to by some small funny gift at this store. One of such items is a gyroscope. The owner and most of the staff are knowledgeable of the things they sell. They are also trying to help you to find if they don’t have something in store. The prices are reasonable for some items, and and on a higher side for others, so, before buying something with a high price sticker, I’d check to how that compares to similar items elsewhere. But overall, it’s great to have such a store in town. The specifics of this store is that it is smallish in size, and as such, somewhat tightly packed, compared to other stores that I’ve been too.

As someone who hates the Hobby Lobby chain, I consider Hobby Town to be the best hobby shop. I go mostly for board and card games, but they sell much more. The owner is very, very sweet and the employees seem to always be the nicest possible. They always try to find what you’re looking for!

A great local hobby shop. Carries a large variety of hobby stuff. They go out of their way to get everything not in stock. Employees always available without being obtrusive. Register with them to get discounts. Their only competitor, Hobby Lobby, is probably better for painting and modeling supplies, but Hobby Town has it all over them for trains, planes, cars. Another difference is Hobby Lobby has people who know their products pretty well.
