Food is expensive unless you get the«day old leftovers» no bananas in the banana pudding I’m pretty sure it comes out of the school type huge cans. Not impressed! Moving on…

Went here one Saturday evening and it wasn’t busy at all. I had the brisket, regular sausage, and ribs and all tasted very good. I’m not usually picky about BBQ unless it’s dry and did not have that complaint at all. The macaroni and cheese and mashed potatoes were good as well. I like my mashed potatoes loaded. People were very nice.

The sliced beef sandwich was tasty AF. The creamed corn and beans were nice too. Ordered for pick up and it was ready faster than expected, and the staff was polite.

Outstanding barbecue and great college football memorabilia on the walls! The jalapeño and cheddar sausage is world class!

After being out of town for 2 weeks, the first meal I was craving was from C&J. Unfortunately, they let me down today. I ordered the sliced brisket sandwich with fries. The lady asked if I wanted pickles and onions, I responded affirmatively. I sat down as they made my fries which is usual. Once she indicated that my fries were ready, I checked the bag. There was no BBQ sauce so I asked for some. Then, once I got home I was disappointed to find that the sandwich was cold, there were no pickles and onions, and there were approximately 20 fries with no seasoning.

Order at the counter and seat yourself. Went on a Monday and got the Aggie Special — Whoop! ½#beef, ¼#sausage, cheese block, onions, pickles, bread for $ 10.99. Two of these easily fed my family of 3 today.

Exceptional bbq… brisket and ribs are the best I’ve had in years. Great sauce and sides. Their cobblers are out of this world!

Hands down some of the best BBQ I have ever had! Everything and I mean everything was perfect from the fork tender brisket to the banana pudding and the fried okra .plus iced tea was really strong and therefore good; the selection of home made BBQ sauces excellent! I can see why they were voted best of the best in Brazos Valley for barbecue for about 10 years running! I almost passed this place by but thought I’d give it a try and am so glad that I did… highly recommend it to anyone who likes barbecue or just plain good food!

We come here every time we visit my husbands family. Some of the best brisket I have ever had the pleasure of eating! Only reason I didn’t give five stars is I do wish I had a different bbq sauce there.

I’ll have to agree with the crowd. This isn’t worth the price. The brisket was very dry and hard to get down, the sausage had a weird taste to it, the chicken was the best part and I’d give it a 7.5. There was some sort of grit on the brisket. The Mac and Cheese was good the loaded potatoes were ok in spite of the fact we ordered potato salad in our to-go order. Over all a mess than impressive place. BBQ is best by small, locally owned, hole-in-the-wall places. That being said, this was kind of what I expected.

I had the 2 meat and 2 sides dinner. The ribs were excellent, the lean brisket was just ok. The loaded mashed potatoes were good, as was the okra. My daughter had the chicken, which was a full leg and was moist and tender. Her Mac and Cheese was fine. My son had the pulled pork, which he said was delicious. The guys at the counter were friendly an helpful. Overall the food was just ok. It was a little pricy for the size portions.

We stopped here while passing through town because the reviews were good. I don’t understand why it received such high reviews. The pulled pork was moist and very good but nothing to write home about. The loaded mashed potatoes were also good. The brisket and sausage were average and the green beans tasted like they came straight from the can and the coleslaw needed a little sweetness for my taste. I guess I had high expectations because of the reviews. Will try another place next time I am in town.

Stopped in the afternoon of Saturday, April 12, 2014. Had the 3-meat plate with lean sliced brisket, regular sausage, ribs, plus sides of pinto beans and potato salad. The brisket was very good, cooked well and sliced correctly. The sausage was tasty. The ribs were very good. Sides were good as well. I had blackberry cobbler for dessert, it was great. The portion sizes were as large or larger than I’ve gotten elsewhere. I was stuffed when I left. Service was very good, prompt and attentive, these are nice friendly people. I will return anytime I’m in the area.

I’ll be honest, after stopping by, I don’t quite understand the luke-warm reviews of C&J. I had the brisket and pulled pork, and maybe I caught them on what just amounted to a good day, but I thought it was all very good. The staff was really helpful even though I was kind of in a daze from being in the middle of an extra-long road trip and was asking dumb questions about what kinds of meat they had when it was in the case right in front of me. There was a lot of flavor to the brisket, and the pulled pork was very tender. I especially loved the Flaming Lips sauce.

I was really looking forward to trying C&J’s based on the reviews but I was disappointed. We got ribs, brisket, dark meat chicken, sausage, beans, green beans, coleslaw and fried okra. Nothing was stellar, the okra was not freshly fried so it was chewy. Everything else lacked flavor and I was disappointed that the chicken or ribs were not tender or the«fall off the bone bbq» I was so looking forward to. Although the customer service was prompt and friendly and the atmosphere was casual and«country» Texan, I think I’ll be going to Rudy’s on Harvey’s instead.

The service at this location is enough for me. Everyone at C&J’s is friendly and welcoming. This place was renovated a few years ago and the improvements are wonderful!!! The place is too cute. It is decorated in a Texas/country style theme suiting what you would expect to find in a barbecue joint. But enough about aesthetics… The food– brisket: awesome pulled pork: moist, savory and DELICIOUS baked potatoes: HUGE and TONS of toppings(real bacon, cheddar, sour cream, butter, and barbecue if you want) sausage: definitely recommend the jalapeño cheddar(even if you think you don’t like hot or you don’t like sausage, this is AWESOME) mashed potatoes: killer Really, there isn’t a thing here that isn’t good. It all depends on what you’re in the mood for. Even the turkey and chicken is delish. Give C&J’s a whirl if you haven’t already.
