Sonny, the owner, is always there and he is super nice. He’s really funny and that is why I always sit at the bar. The food here is super good. It’s hands down the best sushi bar in Bryan/College Station. My wife didn’t like sushi until I took her here and changed her mind.

Thank you to the folks who directed me to this place as THE place for sushi in town. Not knowing what to expect, I found a cool softly lit calming vibe when I walked in. The menu is extensive, and I ordered some sashimi and whatever the guy behind the counter recommended. Impeccably fresh fish, and a bizarre salad of some sea creature. Wow. Fantastic saki list and very nice wine list complement the creative menu. I tried a few sakis, and will be back for more. Oh… open late!

Food took probably 25 minutes to arrive and nobody was in the restaurant. Too long. Waitress wasn’t as attentive as other up scale restaurants but it will do. Sushi was great, regular food was alright.

This is a nice sushi and Japanese restaurant that is right next to the Courtyard by Marriott hotel. The sushi was fresh and presented well. The staff was young but they were attentive. Overall a good experience.

This is my second Unilocal review to ever write. That is how amazing this place is!!! My husband and I came without our babies for an hour alone. The table next to us brought their baby. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming and next time we will bring the twins. The service was great. The food was AMAZING!!! This is not your everyday sushi bar. They make an art form of their cuisine. The calamari was fried with a fluffy wasabi wonder. The dancing eel and the special bear rolls were truly both dancing and special. We couldn’t decide which we liked better, but I think the flavor of the dancing eel was supreme. I cannot wait to go back and try more!!!

I guess if I took off points for anything I would say I wish it were a larger restaurant. Best sushi in town, the fish is incredibly fresh. the signature rolls have a unique and excellent flavor. The staff was incredibly kind. It took us a while to get there but we will definitely be going back.

Was staying at the Marriott Courtyard and checked Unilocal and saw this restaurant had pretty good ratings. When we arrived it was empty and the waitress was training a new girl. They were both cute and friendly, exactly what you expect from a college town. They recommended our sake and food. I had the teriyaki steak. It was excellent. The soup was good and salad was salad. By the time we left there was not a seat in the house. This place was very good and the wait staff was awesome. I would not hesitate to go back.

So service is better, and I am really happy with the chef as usual!

I was not impressed today. We walked into a(mostly) empty restaurant and were sat at the table right next to the door. Soup and salads were brought at the same time. Why? Also, the salad was tiny — it was in a soup bowl. There were about 4 pieces of lettuce. Four sushi dinners came one at a time. Who eats like that? My son had to sit it and look at his dinner for 15 – 20 minutes until we all had food. I was the lucky one who got his last. And one of my rolls came out 20 minutes after everything else did… yeah, I was hungry at that point… NOT. You have to ask for wasabi and ginger. That’s ridiculous. $ 5.50 for a draft Sapporo beer? $ 2.50 for a CAN of Sprite??? Come on, that’s the cost of a 12 pack. All and all the sushi wasn’t bad. This place needs to work on pricing, timing, and customer service before we go back. There are better choices for sushi in College Station right now.

Oh seriously? Someone got my FTR removed? How and why? LOL! Not so important really. Except my pictures are gone now as well. That sucks for everyone. As anyone should know locally I have eaten at and reviewed every restaurant, food truck & trailer in Aggieland as I have eaten at them all, more than half most often with my wife. Of course we ate here. Azure had odd hours when first opening, that were not posted. I know I posted criticism of the hours not being posted and in fact you can probably google my FTR. I felt as if the Sushi environment and style(operated by Chinese, yes I know Asian and can tell from Chinese to Japanese(long story there) to Korean to Indonesian, Thai,(Laotian !!! I testified in a court as a translated in LAO in Houston !!! No shit!) and regional Filipino dialects such as Tagalog. And of course I can understand Vietnamese and Houston. There are two Chinese men here operating a Japanese style restaurant. How’s that for honest in a review? I did not care for how many fingerprints were all over the front door as it appeared as if no one was cleaning that area(which leads one to wonder where else?) Food was fine for the price. Typical American Style Sushi Rolls held up fine with nice service. The only reason I can’t give 4 stars is that the«SUSHI» aka«Rice» contained too much vinegar(not Japanese style) and the rolls were square(Vietnamese Style). Trivial perhaps but accurate. And the lime in my water had a brown husk. What has caused a lot of confusion on Unilocal is the close proximity of this and here: That’s what I said before. Kamei is the #1 best Aggieland Japanese highly rated by real Japanese and people that have lived and taught in Japan. Continue your quest. The truth is once again revealed.

I have been here twice and each time I was disappointed. The first time I got a few rolls off the lunch special menu and they were lunch special sized with pretty awful quality. The second time I went here I got a tempura udon. The the shrimp they gave me were not only small, but I am pretty sure they were the previously frozen/breaded kind. So they tasted super fishy and awful. Pretty bummed :(

This place is overpriced and the quality of rolls is not that good(small and flavorless). Service was slow, and the restaurant was almost empty when I went on a Friday night dinner time(not a good sign). They failed my california roll test by using stick crab(instead of taking the time to make the crab mix that is blended with mayo, and other seasoning). Go to 40 Tempura(on Texas Ave.) instead! If you want to know more about 40, feel free to read my review on them.

I was really excited to try Azure because of the reviews, but was very disappointed with the food. We got an Ahi Tower and the tuna was definitely not Ahi, it was almost the color of salmon and had a very funky texture. It was also sweet, which is not the correct flavors for an Ahi Tower. I have to say this place I worse than naked fish! For the prices and quality I will not be eating here again! If you like sushi and are from an actual city,(dallas, austin, houston) I recommend saving you money and waiting to eat sushi until you are in a real city again.

All I can say is WOW! Now if you are a Sushi lover, this will be the very best Sushi you will find in the area(and we have tried all of them). The rice is perfect and the ingredients in each roll are well balanced. The sauces are well prepared and flavorful. We tried the several of the tempura dishes they offer and all were done very well. The fish used was all very fresh and lovely. The food came in a timely fashion and the service was pleasant. The atmosphere is casual and the establishment is very clean and well decorated. The food was excellent and moderate in price. All in all, a really wonderful Sushi experience!

We’ve been here twice and it’s been a pleasant experience both times. The food is amazingly good, and the sushi is the best I’ve had in town thus far. The first time, I split Philly Rolls and Eel Avocado rolls with my husband and they were delicious, perfectly prepared. I also got the Avocado Miso Soup, which was very subtle — definitely better than miso soup alone as it made it more creamy, but I don’t think it was worth the cost. My entrée, though, was delicious Crab legs. They prepared the crab by slicing through sections so it would be easier to get through, which I thought was a nice touch. My latest time there, I got the Lobster Risotto, which was absolutely wonderful. The risotto was cooked perfectly and I could really taste giant hunks of lobster in there, at least 1 – 2 lobster tails I think. I was also extremely impressed with their Sunomono cucumber seaweed salad, since most sushi places I’ve seen around here use the same«salad» that tastes like nothing, whereas the salad here actually tasted distinctly like seaweed and cucumber. Be prepared to pay a decent amount. I already expected to pay gourmet prices for gourmet food, and that’s exactly what I received so I don’t see this as a downside.

We went there last Sunday, and the food was excellent! I got the Cowboy Roll, and like other reviewers have said, it was incredibly fresh and not the typical stale, dry, pre-packaged stuff you usually find around CS, and it had lots of flavor. The hubs got the teriyaki chicken which he really enjoyed, and it came with a miso soup that was awesome. I thought I didn’t like miso soup(too watery and tangy, usually), but this tastes totally different – in a good way! The interior was also really cool. It felt like a lounge in downtown Austin, or something. Could be a great spot for a date night! It’s worth noting that they had a ton of beer options(lots and lots of sake options, of course), although I’m not sure I saw many wines… The only reason I’m docking it a star was that my husband’s teriyaki came out probably 10 minutes earlier than my sushi, and I actually think it’s because the sushi chef forgot about it/waitress didn’t tell him until I had been sitting there for several minutes with nothing in front of me. In fairness, there was only ONE waitress working anywhere from 2 – 4 big tables(ours included), and I think maybe two cooks in the back, so maybe they’ll hire on extra help. The waitress did her best, I could tell, but they definitely need additional waitstaff, and possibly more cooks or sushi chefs!

Average sushi restaurant in BCS… The menu is a little more creative than some but fish is the same quality as other restaurants as they all come from one supplier in this area. Service can be slow as they only have a couple of servers but it was not bad during summer when the town is ½ the size. My biggest pet peeve is they serve their rice and salad in miso soup bowl… I’ll probably go back in about six months when I forget how mediocre their food is…

Best sushi in town! Sunny is the absolute BEST! He is extremely nice & makes everyone feel at home. The prince roll will change your life — no joke! Their lunch specials are a steal & you won’t find fresher fish anywhere in town. This is my favorite spot in town — come see what it’s all about!
