My husband and I rented with At Home PM for three years. When we first came to College Station to look for a home to rent, the staff was very polite and courteous towards us and Lynn, the broker, was fantastic. They helped us to find a good sized property that had a good sized yard for our dogs too. We paid $ 800 in pet deposit and $ 900 in regular security deposit(which was a full months rent). Prior to moving in, the promised they would have the carpet replaced and have the washer and dryer removed from the unit as we had our own. When we got there, the washer & dryer were still there and the carpeting had stains all over it. The house was dirty too. The freezer had food particulars left in it and the kitchen counters were sticky. The air conditioning was also not working and instead of coming to fix it when we called, they waited until the next day and we had to stay in a hotel overnight(because it was at the end of June and well over 100 degrees) and they did not pay for it or remove that from our first months rent. During our time renting through At Home, we had multiple problems with getting our yard mowed in a timely manner(even though it’s included in the rent), we also had problems getting them to come to the property for maintenance requests. One of the upstairs bathrooms would leak into the living room every time the shower was turned on and they never fixed it even though we called multiple times about it. When we were getting ready to move out due to my company transferring me, our property manager did work with me to get the property leased sooner than our original lease ending was, however, she told us we would not be liable for any other fees past our last months rent and then they charged us for an additional 9 days. They also recorded our deposits in the wrong amount shorting us well over $ 200 in deposits. On the list of reasons why we won’t be getting even $ 1 refunded they put«smoke detectors» which were all working when we moved out of the property, charging us for«blinds» which were damaged when we moved in and somehow they are trying to charge a $ 496.20 «administration fee», which everyone I have checked with and EVEN other property management companies I called have never heard of. If you’re looking for a place to rent in BCS, do yourself a favor and do NOT rent through At Home. They have a lot of the properties but they’re a terrible company with terrible employees. Somehow between replacing carpeting(which is standard when someone moves out of the unit), replacing mini-blinds, weather stripping on the back door, drip pans on the stove(which were dirty when we moved in), smoke detectors, light bulbs(which we left all of them and even replaced the burnt out ones prior to moving) and their bogus administration fee they are claiming $ 2300 in maintenance fees. If this isn’t highway robbery at its finest, than I don’t know what it is. Through a painstakingly long process my husband and I had to send letters via certified mail to rectify all of At Home PMs mistakes including, but not limited to, sending photographs of the property that we took upon moving out, detailing their errors in addition, requesting itemized recipes to prove the outrageous costs they were claiming(which, the refused to provide… shady). The other thing I find interesting about At Home PM is that they have two different Unilocal pages. Why? Because the other one has 26 negative reviews and this one had only 1 good review. Melissa also always replies to the negative reviews and it quite snarky. I have reported this company to the BBB on more than one occasion and believe it is in everyone’s best interest to fully do their research prior to signing a lease with At Home. Their business practices are less than desirable. They prey on young and naïve college students who don’t know any better and then cheat them out of their money. The unit itself was a good size though, so I will give them that.

Extorted us out of our $ 700 security deposit. Extremely rude staff and managers. They often conducted random, photographed inspections. Air conditioning went out every couple months, long waits for repair. Other maintenance extremely shoddy and long delays. Moving out was a huge relief even though I’ll never see my deposit again.

Probably the best PM company in CS… very professional staff, respectful, well educated, very available… the property managers take a personal interest in the properties they manage… they know how to deal with tenants and landlords, and do so with a professional demeanor that you can only admire ! Believe you me, I have used the services of 3 – 4PM companies in CS/Bryan, and At Home is hands down«the best»…dont waste your time going to anyone else… if you are a tenant, they will find you a property, and if you are a landlord, they will take good care of it for you…
