My rule is… if I’m going to College Park on Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun for business… I get to stop at Peg Leg Vintage. It rarely does happen, but when it does, I“m SOHAPPY! And this day in particular, I had some time to kill. So I was headed down route 1 when I saw a small sign that said«The Lobby Café, coffee, espresso, unicorns. etc» And I made a mental note… I needed a place to work. Well, I always need a place to work… so I went to Peg Leg and then giddy up u-turned to get to this place. It is a small, and when I say small, I mean SMALL café in the bottom of the«Union — something or other building» next to the Hampton Inn hotel. They have two small tables, each with two seats at them. The thing that makes this place a 5 star location is the owner. Just, man, what a friendly woman. She instantly made me feel like I was in her home the second I walked in. We started talking about the Korean Food she was serving. I REALLY wish I was hungry. I got a latte and a muffin that she had up at the counter. The latte was delicious. She came over to me and gave me a little bowl of artificial sweetner and I’m pretty sure she stayed late with her friend as I typed away on my laptop for a half an hour. If you’re itching for a cup of coffee and a quiet welcoming spot, go here. I will be back to taste her bulgogi. She wanted to cook Korean style kitchen wings but told me that the building would require her to renovate the café and add a large range hood that would run her 80K. So… that’s not happening. But, there is a bunch of other stuff that is reasonably priced and I can’t wait to go back.
