Insomnia Cookies

The cookies are delicious but be forewarned, they run out of the specialty «deluxe» cookies often (in my experience, the s’mores on both occasions I’ve been there.) It’s quite annoying, especially if you drive a ways to get it. Call ahead.

When I saw that there was an Insomnia Cookies near me I had to go because I loved it when I tried it for the first time back in Chicago. I ordered a cookie ice cream sandwich of white chocolate macadamia and double chocolate mint cookies with vanilla ice cream. After the first bite, it brought back nostalgic memories of Chicago with my friends back in college. This dessert is surely one of my favorites & it will definitely make you satisfied. The staff that accommodated me was friendly and helpful. However, the place is quite small with very limited seating and the parking can be a pain, especially when you have no coins to put into the meter and there is only a limited amount of parking spaces. The prices are a little pricey for the amount you get but it is delicious and I will surely come back for more!

Just found out about this place today. I got a mint chocolate chip cookie with mint chocolate chip ice cream and my boyfriend got a peanut butter cookie with salted pretzel ice cream. They were both delicious! A little pricey (in my opinion) but really good!

The cookies are fresh and scrumptious. I’m just a bit disappointed at the lack of ice cream in my cookie sandwich. Price overall here is also a tad high.

Warm cookies were fantastic! My peanut butter fanatic husband loved their, yup you guessed it, their peanut butter chip cookies!
My inner child who loves chocolate fell hard for the double chocolate chunk and for the regular chocolate chunk. I think I could eat them every hour for days if I allowed myself.
One drawback — we only interacted with one employee. She didn’t seem like she wanted to be there and I felt as though she could have been a bit more friendly. I guess that’s what you get from someone who loves cookies, sees cookies all around them, but isn’t allowed to have them all?!

I really appreciate that someone is serving sweet treats late at night. It’s about time. The cookies were served warm (they warm them up before serving you even late at night which is a nice touch) and they were chewy and delicious. I got the chocolate chip, peanut butter, oatmeal raisin, peanut butter, and macadamia cookies. They were all so good I can’t pick a best. Try em all. Next time I’m gonna try their «deluxe» cookies which are basically double the size and different flavors. They looked good.

I am extremely disappointed in the service of this particular insomnia. I’ve purchased from other stores, and the service has always been impeccable. However, I can’t say the same for this one. I ordered cookies that never came. After paying for them, waiting for them, and attempting to contact customer service as a result, the cookies never arrived. What’s most disappointing is the lack of ability to communicate that the cookies were not delivered because the customer service line is not in service.
If you want good cookies, or cookies at all, go elsewhere. For the sake happiness, do not burden yourself with purchasing cookies from this location.
The cherry on top of this horrendous situation is they also forgot the ice cream for one of my other orders… Spectacular… Now I’ve overpaid even more for your cookiewiches.
I couldn’t even ask for a refund or a redelivery because I couldn’t talk TO ANYONE.

It is a sign of how goddamn much I love this place that I have no pictures of anything. That’s because when I am confronted with an Insomnia Cookie, I lose all control. I could probably go in on a full dozen of the classic chocolate chunk by myself if you gave me a big glass of milk. You know how drug addicts will go on benders and wake up in a state with no recollection of how they got there? That’s me with these cookies. I eat them, next thing I know I’m covered in chocolate and probably a few pounds heavier.
All jokes aside, I’ve ordered delivery with the rest of my floor a few times now, and honestly, if you order a dozen between 4 to 6 people, it’s actually a pretty good deal. Delivery is also super fast, which I really appreciate, because often, delivery on campus takes a while and drivers get lost. In the store, the card minimum is something like 4 or 5 dollars so make sure you have cash on you. For a college town business, they have great service, especially with delivery. I appreciate that a lot. If you’re not a UMD student but live locally and have a sweet tooth, I would say go for it. A lot of the appeal is probably the novelty of a store that just sells cookies, but the product is genuinely good.

i remember trying this once in philly and it was amazing; i always wished i had one in my area and now i do!!! I can’t justify going here too often because i’m on a dining plan but it’s fantastic. the wait time can be long on friday nights/​weekends so be patient or go in person!

First tried this place in Chicago and was super excited to see it open in College Park. I had a delicious, soft, and warm peanutbutter chunk cookie. It was delicious and the staff were friendly.

Great cookies served warm and delicious! You smell cookies as soon as you walk in!!! Manager was friendly and explain how things worked. They also had delicious ice cream flavors to compliment your cookie crave. Will definitely come back!

Insomnia Cookies had its first run in College Park about a decade ago, during which I ordered many late-​night, ooey-​gooey, warm goodies (along with cold milk!) that aided my freshman year weight gain.
I was really sad when it closed, because I missed those peanut butter cookies with peanut butter chips, but it’s back now! And the cookies are as good as I remember!
I’ll admit I haven’t placed an order yet but I’ve tried several different flavors because they were nice enough to bring some free samples by the office, along with a free coupon that I used to grab another cookie in the store. The dark chocolate with dark chocolate chips was rich and just the right amount of chewy, while the peanut butter one that I got in the store came out of a warming drawer that kept it at the perfect temperature and consistency.
I wish their deliveries went slightly further, but I’m still excited they’re back!
