Howard Johnson Inn College Park

Stayed here one night in June 2012. The office staff was a typical humorless «Patel Cartel» type, but we got registered easily enough. Why cant they smile?
The room was good enough, with clean linens and clean bathroom, but no fridge and no microwave. That’s a bit less than we might expect. for the price. The wi-​fi worked well, and none of that «password» stuff.

I stayed here for two nights in October 2011. This was a mistake that I will never repeat again, however cheap the rate may be.
The moment my family arrived, we saw a prostitute walking around the parking lot, talking to a couple different guys. Once we were checked in we headed to our room with some of the bags. When we put some in and turned back out to get some more, we saw her and one of the guys slip into the room next door, while the other guy she spoke to waited in his car, perhaps for his turn. A maid knocked on their door during this «session» and my mom, walking by to get to our car, saw the prostitute open the door with just a pillow blocking her body. Although we had been dismayed from the beginning by the building’s apparent quality from the outside, we were definite that this was not a very good place to be when we realized we’d be boarding next to her. Our room, which was «non-​smoking,» absolutely reeked of cigarettes despite our lengthy attempts to air it out.
One of the nights we were there, my mother heard someone banging on our door. In the morning we found a bunch of milk outside of our room and outside of the prostitutes, leading us to believe she was the one trying to get into ours (drunk maybe). Before we left the second night, my mother accidentally pulled up the sheet on the bottom mattress on her bed and found a gigantic, horrifying brownish-​reddish stain that reminded us of blood. The size of this stain could only have been the result of past violence, and I am lead to wonder why the heck HoJo didn’t replace the mattress after it suffered this kind of trauma? That’s freaking disgusting!!!

Staff is nice. Continental Breakfast is continental. Have you ever wondered why a nothing breakfast has such a great name?
I would stay again.
